Blooming

Rate this book
Jen Harris has been struggling with life since she was twelve years old, and the only way she learnt to control the fear was to isolate herself from anybody that threatened her emotionally.
Physically scarred from a childhood accident, mentally she’s never stopped being a scared pre-teen and she’s terrified of any kind of personal or romantic relationship.
When well meaning neighbours threaten her carefully structured world she panics and moves her life and business to an apartment in Bloomington Indiana, vowing to stay away from anybody who tries to get close.
Unfortunately Jen soon learns she picked just about the worst place she could imagine because from day one a whole barrage of people are invading her personal space.
There's the lovely and indomitable Lily; the outrageously meddlesome Sean and his partner Sebastian, and then? Well then there's Todd, the impossibly gorgeous landlord.
Within what feels like moments Jen's life becomes a fresh new kind of hell and maybe just a little bit more optimistic too.
Struggling to deal with all these big personalities who insist on drawing her into their circle, Jen soon becomes overwhelmed. But before she can do anything about it a terrible act of violence strikes close to home, and no-one is ever going to be the same again.
Now irrevocably connected to them all, Jen has to find a new way of dealing with life and Todd won't settle for it any other way. He has plenty of secrets of his own and he’s determined to uncover all of Jen’s.
Veering between feelings of fragility and steely defensiveness, Jen has a lot to learn about building relationships, and Todd is a tall, broad, romantic bulldozer of a guy. He’ll use wit, charm and alpha male bossiness because he just doesn’t know how to fail.
Blooming although dealing with some serious issues, is a novel about love, hope, finding your way and friendship – whether you choose those friends or not! It moves along at a fast pace and has plenty of fun and very sexy moments too.
You’ll fall in love with Todd every bit as much as Jen does.

Jen is an introverted 27 years woman, Todd is her new landlord.
He pursues her, she Is not interested, even if she’s attracted to him.
He perseveres. She opens up.
The he becomes more and more a controlling jerk who treats Jen as an immature
person who can’t handle the reality of life, although she has been a self sufficient
and self supporting woman for many years.
The background characters have no depth.

STARTED READING BUT DIDN'T LIKE IT
250p Jen Harris is, in her own words, pathetic.
Emotionally and physically scarred from a childhood accident, she 19s terrified of any kind of personal or romantic relationship.
In a moment of panic she moves her life and business to Bloomington Indiana, and makes a vow to stay away from anybody and everybody.
Of course life has other ideas and from day one a drop dead gorgeous landlord called Todd, his sister Lily, and Sean and Sebastian from the third floor all collide to make her life hell and maybe just a little bit more optimistic too.
For Jen whose life has been in the slow lane, matters rush at full speed when an unspeakable act of violence strikes close to home and everybody 19s life is touched by it, and as it does it 19s Todd who takes charge and insists on bringing Jen along for the ride.
Todd has plenty of secrets of his own and he 19s determined enough for the both of them that Jen is the girl for him whether she likes it or not.
Jen has a lot to learn as well as some catching up to do and he 19s just the man to get it done!
Blooming although dealing with some serious issues, is a novel about love, hope, moving-on and friendship 13 whether you want those friends or not! It moves along at a fast pace and has plenty of more light-hearted moments as well as some fairly heated sexual content.
