About the author

Born in a small town on the coast of North Carolina to strict parents, Tracy St. John started out as a quiet, shy child. She was typical for her small town: studying hard for good grades, fishing with her dad on Saturdays and attending church on Sundays.

When adolescence kicked in, so did full-on rebellion. School, family and church fell by the wayside as Tracy partied too hard with the wrong people. Somehow surviving her wild-child phase, she pursued several careers before finally settling on video production and writing.

A string of failed relationships prompted her to give up on love…which of course meant fate immediately tossed Mr. Right her way. After only 4 months of dating, she eloped with the love of her life. They just celebrated 14 years of wedded bliss.

Prior to penning her first erotic novel ‘Alien Embrace’, Tracy wrote commercials, television and radio promos, and training films for various government entities.

Tracy St. John now lives in coastal Georgia with her husband and son. She still enjoys fishing, and you’ll often find her haunting train museums with her locomotive-loving son. Besides writing, she also works in video production both in front of and behind the camera. She’s usually cast as the gun-toting bad gal, getting handcuffed in the end. She has no complaints.

I hope St. John continues with the M/M Sci-fi. This was quite scorching, with the menage elements handled very well. Considering how much sex there is here--meaning tons--I was relieved to see that the sci-fi plot was not shortchanged. The writing was frustratingly rough, especially in the first third. Typical example: "Every expression on the muddy field looked ferocious simply because each man strained to see through narrowed eyes." However, once the sex scenes started up, the syntax either got cleaner or I ceased to notice--I suppose I had better things to focus on (like those double cocks!)

Bottom line: I've already loaded up the second book of the series. Total guilty pleasure.

Listen up! Fans of SciFi and MM - regardless of whether you've read the other books (which all, alas, contain a female) this one is all hunky men on men action. The SciFi part is very well written and described. However it is in the actions and reactions of the men that this one shines so brightly. The three men have very distinct personalities and each comes through exactly as he is. I could picture them very clearly. The sex/kink (lite!) in here are some of the best I've read and really represent what I love about MM - I like it when strong, confident men who might *both* want to be on top get together. Here there are all sorts of tables being turned and it turns out sizzling! I think I sweated and panted right with them.

I'm going to go try and read one of the M/M/F/M of the series but, honestly, I'm not so fond of women in my MM erotica nowadays. I hope they aren't whiny females that are TSTL!

Sorry, not for me. Too much sex, not enough plot, and what plot there was was unoriginal and nap-inspiring. Struggled to finish; skimmed through the last 1/3.

But Lilia liked it, so if you're looking for double-cocked menage erotica (yes, meaning six cocks - count 'em; six - total) then give it a try.

This is the 8th book in the series "Clans of Kalquor" with the author finally writing a mmm themed book that gives insight into the core clan dynamics before the three men who form a clan meet their mattara (female child bearer/mate). It's a sci-fi read with BDSM featuring man on man on man action galore. Definitely no girls allowed in this book.

This storyline features Lidon, Degorsk, & Tranis, three unlikely guys on a Kalquorian military spaceship (ok there's a better word I could have used for this but....) who really shouldn't have any common ground to form a relationship on but do as opposites attract. The problem is each has baggage issues that could derail the three clanning so the ending isn't a guaranteed HEA.

OMG!!!! Wonderful. Terrific. Best of the series. Must read. Am I gushing? You bet. This is a sci-fi mmm installment in the series that I highly encourage those of you who like the boys to read. It's heavy on the erotic action and includes some yummy mild BDSM play scenes that rocks but still has a meaningful plot that keeps me a returning fan of this series. I am so happy the author chose to finally write a book like this as the series has always revolved around the core clan yet I never really could connect with the love/lust aspect of the characters until I read this one.

My one gripe in previous installments was that I often got confused trying to remember the three distinctly different roles each member of a clan represent which is an important piece of information. Between the unusual alien names and their titles of Imdiko, Dramok, & Nobek I had to keep a written note handy to keep things straight. For this book the author does give a brief explanation of the different roles and evolution at the start of the book so someone who hasn't read any of the previous installments in this series can get up to speed. This helps a lot.

But back to the book. The emotional roller coaster the author took me on throughout this story was outstanding. If I had to write a brief telling yet vague synopsis it would be: things are not always as they seem. The obvious in this book isn't, and the truly evil bad guy elements aren't always. See if you agree after reading this.

The erotic scenes are adult content and at times graphic. For those of you who aren't comfortable with gay erotica novels this may push your comfort level but for the rest: WOW!!!!! There are so many play and discipline scenes that I'd love to gush about but they are potential spoilers so I'm forcing myself to refrain. But I do have to put this out there: one of the central characters is so proud of his ass***ets and puts it on display publicly for one and all to see. ☺

Congrats Ms. St. John for finally making me understand and believe in this series core foundation premise. You do realize I now want the follow up mattera for this clan right?

I picked this up for the trashy alien fun times, and it did deliver on that. For a minute there, I was getting interesting world-building as well, but don't let it fool you! Smut is the bottom line here. It kind of devolved at the end into something less satisfying than that even, but I waited too long to review it so I can't remember the details.

I know I considered reading another one in the series, since I really was in a smutty alien threesome kind of mood ;) *I need a finger guns emoji* -- but the ones I had free access to were not the ones I was interested in, and I definitely wasn't paying for this! There's better, but you could do worse.

Если это роман, то в нем слишком мало смысловой нагрузки. Если эротика, то не очень хорошая...
Автор берет троих героев с генетически обозначенными особенностями (агрессивный, лидер и саб), но потом сама же стирает все эти отличительные черты. Я лично не выдержала сцены доминирования саба над лидером. Не, понятно, что однотипность поведения никому не нравится. Весь изюм - он в отклонениях от норм поведения. Но не таким же топорным способом! Весь обоснуй в том, что "я так хочу"...
И еще, не думала, что скажу такое, но... слишком много секса! Тех самых пресловутых членов тоже слишком много. При всей моей любви к порно периодически закатывались глаза от неуместности происходящего. До вторжения врагов три часа... Что бы поделать, а? Прааальна, давайте жариться! Да. Еще и с шуточками в адрес друг друга это делать...

Summary
“To Clan and Conquer” by Tracy St. John is a version of Star Trek where Kirk, Spock, and Bones spend their spare time fucking like rabbits. Women are scarce as their race is in decline, and they work on a battleship patrolling the outer boundaries of space. So the men form three-way relationships with one another – clans. Forming a permanent, three-way relationship is hard enough, but try doing it while investigating mysterious attacks potentially from an aggressive alien race which smells like sewage.

Don't worry, Tranis, Lidon, and Degorsk still have plenty of time to get busy. I like a lot of sex in my books, but even I was tempted to skip a sex scene or two. The rest of the story doesn't get short changed by the sex, and I would enjoy reading more about these men. Recommended for male/male and/or menage fans who watched Battlestar Galactica.

I was attracted to this book because of both the cover (such pretty guys) and the fact that it was actually m/m/m and I haven't read many good ones of those in the past. I was hoping that it would be worth the read and I was delighted to find that it was. Yes it was full of lots of sex scenes but they were all very well written. In fact they were really very hot and yet somehow very emotional too. As for the rest of the story it was a well written science fiction story with lots of action and intrigue that blended within those sex scenes in such a way as to make the sex scenes an integral part of the whole. It is always a pleasant surprise to come across an author who can write an erotic story without the erotica swamping the main storyline into the mere blahness of porn but Tracy St. John has managed to avoid that trap and gives the reader an exciting and hot threesome adventure that is worth every penny spent on the book.

I was pleasantly surprised...especially considering that I really didn't like .

The plot was good and kept me hooked the whole way. One thing I didn't like is the cheating between Lidon with Tranis and Degorsk while he's still in a relationship with Piras. Even though they are not officially "clanned" it still bugged me.

Lots of in-depth background on each MC which made them more real to me.

Lidon strung him along until something better showed up. I dunno if it ends well for the captain, I had to dnf, but I'm guessing he remains as an antagonist of sorts?

There is a new alien world out there and I LOVE IT.
Firstly although this is book 1 in Clan Beginnings series, it is not the first about the Kalquorian world. The events of this book were happening somewhere in space just before the events of "Alien Conquest" in Europa Earth colony took place. This can be read as a stand alone, so don't worry that you will not be able to follow the events.
Let's talk about this alien world as it is described in the book:
a) There is a dying race which is consisted mainly of men. Estimated time left 300 years. Because of an epidemic a few years ago, most women died and the few left have difficulties conceiving. Women are called mataras (childbearers)
b) The males of the planets are formed by three breeds: the Dramoks (leaders), the Imdigos (caregivers) and the Nobeks (protectors). Three men from the different breeds have to form a clan (like a family) before they claim a woman. A clan means that they share the same house, the same food and of course the same bed, ie. Most of them are bisexual.
c) Kalquorian anatomy is different. They are really big and masculine. The average kalquorian has the hight of a tall human. They also have darker skin and two penises. Oh well, they are aliens, they are excused. And even though it can get a bit crowded, they do not seem to mind. LOL
d) They are very sexually active.
e) Nobeks love violence and they are proud to have painful scars. The game they normally play is called kurble and it involves a barbed ball full of poison and they love it.
f) Others species in surrounding planets involves Bi'isils, Adrafs, the hairy Dantovonians, Yeknas, the disgusting Trakooms who like to eat their enemies and of course Earthers etc. You need to read more books for the details.

This is a story of Tranis (a young Dramok and first officer), Lidon (a scarred Nobek and weapons commander) and Degorsk (an Imdigo and a doctor) who will eventually form a clan. It will not be easy because Travis is too young and too ambitious, Lidon already has a lover and his lover is the captain of the ship and Degorsk is hurt and wants to be left alone.

The book is definetely not boring. It is full of spaceships, blood thirsty aliens, fearless Kalquorians, space battles, clever dialogues, loads of sex, strange planets, weird plants and animals, and unstoppable love.

The Clan Beginnings is an MM sci-fi series. If you are a human female (as you most probably are), you may feel a bit lonely when you read it because except yourself there will be no other female around. The book has ONLY male characters. Moreover except yourself, there are only 4 Earthers in the book :-)

Solid scifi story and hella hot sex.

I wish the author had used words less similar for the "breeds" than the Nobek and Dramok; I was half-way done with the book before I could tell the two apart when it came to who was being referred to. I also hated the alternating use of the breed name with the given name (again, because I couldn't tell who was who)...but only for those two characters. Degorsk (the Imdiko) was easier to discern simply because both of the names he's referred to were so different.

Speaking of Degorsk: From the minute he was introduced I kept thinking his character reminded me of Dr. McCoy on Star Trek. And then the author went and had him say something along the lines of "Damnit, I'm a doctor not a linguist." Way to hang a lampshade on that homage.

Finally, I did some digging and while I loved this MMM triad and I adore the idea of adding a female to the mix - evidently the book where this Clan gets their female Matara has absolutely no MM interaction. It's straight menage.

So, as much as I wanted to read about them completing their family unit I won't be reading that one; sorry, but with the emotional & physical connections these guys had - to throw that out the window in order to focus on sexing up a single female to the detriment of their own relationships? Especially when their interactions and actual words of love are so very much NOT because there just isn't a female to service their sexual needs? Nope. Not riding that train.

Very big missed opportunity there.

Great book. Hopefully, great series. My favorite concept in the book is the clans. I liked the idea of them and the different classes that made up each one. I liked that each of the main characters had a class but were willing to step outside it when needed. Basically, a complete clan is made up of three males and a female. In the absence of a female, the three males can still come together. They do this and form a bond as they wait for a female that may or may not choose to join them. This book was all about three males forming a bond with just a little discussion on females here and there.

One thing I didn’t like about the book was the way that Lidon left Piras. I realize that this had to happen, but it just seemed like he gave up on a long relationship without showing much feeling. I would have rather seen them working out their problems than to see him dumping his partner for another.

This book will probably take me a while before I re-read it. I plan on getting the other books that deal with Kalquor first.

I have enjoyed the books of this series, some more than others, but maybe none quite as much as this one.

After the relatively lighthearted forays into post-contact Earth relations that the initial books offered---well, vis-a-vis the human females, anyway---it was really interesting to read this less fluffy take on the pre-contact Kalquorians themselves; the background development of the various castes, the full-contact expose of the Kalquorians as a warrior race, and the clanning process itself.

I would love to accompany Tranis, Lidon and Degorsk through "First Contact", as they take their new Clan through its neoteric life as a spy outfit, with the side benefit of meeting their Matara.

Having read all the books in Tracy St. Johns Clans or Kalquor series. I enjoyed getting to go back to see where one of the clans began in Clan beginnings series. If you have not read this series I would recommend it for you if you enjoy erotic romance. I can't wait for more from this series!

Tracy, I'm so glad that you decided to write the back story about one of the clans!! I found it fascinating and completely enthralling. Now I find myself hoping against hope that you will be telling the story of some of the other 'guys'.

Meh, it was alright

A review I read before starting this book said there was a lot of sex, which confused me. I get it now. It's not so much the number of pages with sex on, more these guys have sex at the drop of a hat. Stuck on a small ship awaiting near certain death unless your wacky plan works? Then have sex. Popped of the bridge for 5 mins during a crisis? Have sex.

And then there's the whole two cocks thing. I just couldn't see why. It didn't make sense to me in evolutionary terms, nor for plot reasons. It didn't add anything to the sex scenes, just jarringly reminded me this was Sci Fi.

So, I finished it, and it was alright, but I'm not inspired to read the rest.

Do read if: you like tight arses, form fitting body suits, true love against the odds, lots of cocks.

Don't read if: you are likely to want to shout at them during sex scenes "surely one of you should be keeping an eye on the monitors for signs of the enemy?!" or if you are likely to get confused and distracted wondering about dick configurations and which one is their primary one and WHY (let alone alarmed at the thought of boiling cum) during sex scenes.

Tranis doesn't plan on starting a clan, but his attraction to Weapons Commandor Lidon and Head Doctor Degorsk on the ship he is stationed takes things in a whole new direction. Lidon and Degorsk both think that Tranis is too young for them as they are washed up has been in their minds. Tranis is willing to let his attraction to them play out, but they are also being pulled apart by an outside threat that could destroy them and their chance at happiness.

The aliens in this story were interesting and unique in their dynamics and physical descriptions. I enjoy sci-fi stories, so this was an exciting read that was well done. I got confused between the different roles and each character's role, but after a bit, it all seemed to click for me.
