Born and raised in the New Orleans area, Rebecca moved to Ponchatoula 15 years ago. She is a graduate of Delgado Community College in New Orleans and Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond, La. She published her first book in January 2013 and since has released ten other books. She loves to write Sci-Fi romance because the story and characters are totally derived from her imagination. Writing e-books has become Rebecca's full-time job. "It allows me the flexible time to take care of my family and do thing with my husband.I will never give up my writing to go back out into the workforce to do something I might hate. Writing is my passion."
I enjoyed the first 2 books in this series and was going to buy the 3rd one from Amazon but read the author's response to a review criticising the grammar. She said that they can't afford a proof reader as it will cost $1800 - $2000 to do it. That has irritated me because the authors are charging $3.99 US per book which is the same price as a lot of professionally edited and proofread books. It seems to me that they are forgetting that we readers are spending our hard earned money on their books and as such deserve a reasonable product. If they really can't afford a proofreader, surely they could send out beta copies to fans and ask them to proofread it in exchange for a free copy of the final book?
Emma's Heart (Brides of Theron #3)by Rebecca Lorino Pond, Rebecca Anthony Lorino
Book 3 of the Brides of Theron series.
Emma was abducted from her home and sold at auction to a extremely large alien with beautiful copper eyes. She wants nothing from him but to be returned to her home back on Earth.
Brylon has feeling for this little Earth female the moment he lays eyes on her. It takes all he has to convince her that he has honorable intentions towards her. he wants her as his mate and bearer of his children, but Emma has secrets that she is hiding from him and has constructed a wall around herself that seems to be unbreakable, but he is determined to break through and her his' completely.
The planet of Theron had suffered greatly at the hands of the Drylons and their Emperor Gatton, but they are recovering from the tragic past. Old wounds are finally healing while two Therons thought dead suddenly reappear.
The biggest problem with the story was the structure of the sentences. I had to read over those missing words, double words and words out of place. Almost sounding like Yoda talking. Other than that I really liked the story. Who wouldn't with strong women of earth and gorgeous alien men. In this book it was Brylon and Emma. They were different than the first two books. The explosive chemistry between the two was a little longer coming but the end result is a bomb caused by her running away that opens Brylon's eyes to his overreaction to keeping her safe.
This is the third book and it is just as good as the first 2,Emma was a lost soul, she didn't have anyone in her life that cared for her until she was kidnapped by an alien from another world.Brylon was smitten with Emma from the first time he saw her.He knew she was the mate for him. There was always something happening or going wrong wherever Emma was.You have got to read this book to find out what happens to Emma and her mate.
I liked this Brides of Theron better than the first one. I really liked Brylon! Emma at times could get on my nerves, but I kind of understood that she grew up pretty hard. This book seems a little sexier than the first one. I will read Gracie's story next, I skipped ahead because I wanted to read Emma's.
damaged from abusive foster care system, Emma is kidnapped by an alien and sold as a mate to a member of a dying species. emotional complications ensue. she gets lost on a strange world and nearly dies...ends happily.
