Love Life & Circumstance
Born the son of a preacher man, Elijah Deacon always conformed to his father’s strict religious teachings. He worked hard, devoting his time and energy to the family owned construction firm, leaving little time to focus on the deplorable state of his private life. This book was really, really not my tastes.
I was a little leery about the whole baby aspect of this book, but that wasn't my issue with this after all. This book just exhausted me. Over-the-top drama, soap opera-ish plot lines, stupid misunderstandings... this book was like a lesson is what I DON'T like in my romances. The sex even irritated me by the end.
And this spoiler KILLED me. Warning, it is a big spoiler.
Aside from that, the strange characters of the best friends weirded me out. They were borderline insane, both of them.
I would pass on this one.

i am SOOOOOOO fucking over brothers taking their sister's sloppy seconds. As a gay man with sisters it made me cringe the first time i read one of these stories but now after the 50th time one has slipped with WITHOUT WARNING IN THE BLURB i'm just FED.UP. I wish i could be nice. I do. I read it all, to be fair. But srsly. If you have to think "Should i go bareback with the man who got drunk and barebacked my sister and knocked her up?" ... It's probably a bad idea.
Also I'm so sad for all the sisters that have had to die in M/M for these men to have kids. Like Jesus Christ can't there be a nice girl who's like "i don't want it... you take it if you do"?
And COME THE FUCK ON. Homie rarely gets to go out and BE GAY and he goes out WITH HIS GAY FRIEND TO A GAY BAR and leaves with a girl when he made a POINT of saying "i don't sleep with girls as a matter of point, just sometimes to cover my ass" Like... he WOULD not leave with a chick. He'd be gay, find a boy. And c'mon... the whole "sister set her evil sights on the poor gay man" thing. Like... they HAD to make the sister a heinous bitch otherwise all of this would have seemed ludicrous. Oh wait. It. Did. I'm so so so so trying not to Hulk out over this fucking book. The writing was good. The pairing obvs work well together but this who thing was just..... NO!

Friends, Goodreaders, countrymen, lend me your eyes. Read not this book, for verily I say unto you, I have taken the hit; thus, you need not do so. This was a poorly written, poorly edited, improbably constructed book, stupid in its inception, and a criminal assault on my time. I hated this book, but as a fellow Goodreader once said (Julio, that would be you), I read until the end so that I could hate it all.

*Sniffs* *Wipes tears from cheeks* I love a story that makes me feel so emotional I have a constant lump in my throat. I also love a story that makes me feel as if I have to be there with the characters, wrapping my arms around them and telling them everything will be all right.
The story of Elijah Deacon, son from a religious family, and Seth Jacobs, a paralegal had me riveted to my seat. From the dreadful tragic circumstances that bought the two together and left them with a little legacy that needed them both, to the conflict and turmoil they suffer and the problems that they face, this is a tale of forgiveness, betrayal, love, desperation and sheer raw passion that will turn your insides outside and leave you with tears on your face and a goofy smile when everything works out for the best.
Beautifully written, with characters that leap off the page into your heart, Love Life and Circumstances is a triumph from authors J T Cheyanne and V L Moon.
I heartily recommend this book to everyone who loves a well drawn and emotional tale and wants to find out just what destiny finally has in store for two men who go through so much heartbreak.

Love Life & Circumstance grabbed me from the beginning and I couldn't stop reading it till I had finished. I didn't want to stop. If you bought this book you definately will not regret it but I will say to make sure you have some tissues handy.
The beginning of this story has some very tragic circumstances. Elijah Deacon lost his father 25years to the day that his mother had died and Seth Jacobs lost his twin sister in the same accident. Out of both tragedies came a very precious gift. A baby girl given the name Hope.
By the end of this book you will realize a few things. You'll be a believer of fate. That best friends may do stupid idiotic things,but they mean well only because they love you and are only looking out for your best interest, and that being a couple you don't have to hide who you are and love with all your heart no matter your sexual orientation.
J.T. Cheyanne and V.L Moon have written a tragic, but beautiful and steamy book filled with love, faith and hope that anything is possible and I look forward to the next book that they publish.

Wow, what a fantastic book. I adored the heartfelt love story. This is my first book by V.L. Moon and I was immediately addicted. I knew I was going to be in for a brilliant emotional romantic journey from the beginning. It's what made me want to read the book. I was already a huge fan of J.T. Cheyenne after reading Grand Slam, and the partnership of Moon and Cheyenne did not disappoint. The story of such a tragic lose in which love heals was powerful and phenomenally written. Our to hero's brought together by lose and life captured my heart instantly.
After loosing the only family Eli had left, he thought his world was over until he realizes that Seth is experiencing the same horrible lose. After one look at each other, Seth and Eli are instantly attracted to each other. Seth feels guilty about feeling so good after the tragedy they both share and Eli has to convince him to move forward and except this is just fate.
I must say I felt like I was standing in the room so many times with these two sexy men. I experienced every inch of their pain, every laughter, every angry moment, and every passionate experience of their love while reading this book. It is what I loved most about the book. I have never been the religious type, but I have always believed that whatever God you believe in: that if he takes something tragically away from you he always gives you something in return. We just have to keep our eyes open wide so we don't miss it. This was completely true in the story of Eli and Seth. I would recommend everyone read this powerful journey to love. This book was beautifully told on the pages you don't want to miss it.

Very rarely in life today do you find a story that will resound with your heart and soul. A tale that tugs at your heartstrings and comforts your soul. LOVE, LIFE & CIRCUMSTANCE is one of those stories. From the very beginning V.L Moon grabs the reader by their imaginations and transport them into the lives of two of the strongest, most honest characters.
The feelings and emotions that this tale convey's makes the reader feel as though they were standing beside Eli and Seth as they are at first thrown together by tragedy, but come together in the end by love. This story touches on so many different aspects of life today for couples, both same sex and the more "traditional" couple.
But this story is not a story of two gay men; this is a love story about two men who are brought together in the most horrific manner, who face the truths of life in small town's across our nation, but still find a way to overcome all the obstacles that life threw at them, and came out so much stronger in the end.
V.L Moons second book is just as dramatic, just as real, just as complicated as all books I have read from this awesome author. One of this genres best up and coming authors, I expect more outstanding tales to come to life from this author. Way to go V.L., you hit this one right in the heart!!!

I believe in soulmates. So to me this story was about finding your soulmate when you least expect it, in the worst place possible. This was a beautifully crafted story about tragedy and miss placed guilt. How in one second life can change you and if your lucky, your left with only the gift of a small precious life. What do you do when you feel that all you have left are lies and regrets but knowing you have no control and no choice but to move forward. This was a magnificently written story about two very strong men who were not truly happy with the lives they were leading but they were content. They didn't know that one moment in time that involved crushing both their lives in death would seal their fates in love for all time. This is a story only two authors could write so well. My favorite writing team V.L. Moon and J.T. Cheyanne. It's guaranteed when they write together it's a story like no other! How these two that write so different separately, can blend their writing skills so seamlessly is a mystery to me. I highly recommend this book!!!

I have reviewed JT Cheyanne and VL Moon’s books before. Let me tell you once again they nailed it! These two ladies were meant to write together, both have a gift to paint a picture with words, and bring the reader into their world.
This story of Elijah Deacon and Seth Jacobs has a special place in my heart. I laughed out loud, and more than once was brought to tears. These two men were brought together by tragic circumstance; but it seemed fate had destined them for one another along with a special little girl.
I would recommend this book, as well as any written by these two talented women.

I knew when I started this book it was going to be good, as a fan of J.T. Cheyenne ( Grand Slam) and V.L. Moon (Tyrian's Mist) I had high expectations and boy did they deliver! Who would know that out of great tragedy there could come great love.. The attraction was instant between Elijah and Seth. But the trust didn't come easily, friends betray you and jealously is A ugly emotion. The love was there and then there was Hope...and Hope really was the the greatest of all. Have your Kleenex ready and get ready for beautiful love story that you will visit over and over.......

Love Life & Circumstance proved to be a great collaboration between V.L.Moon and JT Cheyenne.I really enjoyed the story it flowed really well and the characters were likeable and hot hot hot!!!!!I would thoroughly recommend this book it was a real page turner and I couldn't put it down.Great way to spend a couple of days my only criticism would be that I've finished it so quick and now I miss Elijah and Seth. Great book great job buy it and enjoy for yourselves.

Immediately i was pulled into the story of Elijah and Seth. feeling as though i experienced everything right there with them. From the laughter to the tears. Through the fears and happiness. I was left wanting more which is the proof of how amazing this story is. Because if I am left wanting more and never wanting it to end I know I have found an amazing story.

A "Live Your Life, Buy The Book" Review
Love, Life & Circumstances follows the lives of two men whose lives are intertwined through a series of tragedies. Elijah Deacon is planning to meet his father, Pastor Chamberlain Deacon at the cemetery to visit his mother’s grave. It is the twenty fifth anniversary of his mother’s death. The weather is bad and the roads are blocked. Pastor Deacon telephones his son to tell him he will be running late and that he loves him. Elijah waits for him at the graveside and as time passes his worry grows.
Meanwhile Seth Jacobs is finishing up some documents to send to the law firm he is working for. He moved to Headland to be with his twin sister, Bethany. She was pregnant and alone. He has watched his sister go into a downward spiral since the deaths of their parents. Bethany began living recklessly while Seth threw himself into his studies. Seth has hoped that returning home and helping care for her that she would leave the wild lifestyle behind. Instead, her drinking and using drugs is endangering the baby as well as herself.
Tragedy hits when both men receive calls that their loved ones have been in accidents and to please come to the hospital. The fear that they may lose the last family they have is heartbreaking. Unfortunately Elijah’s father and Seth’s sister do not survive but Bethany’s baby does. She is premature, has complications from her mother’s substance abuse and is in neonatal Intensive care. Seth has no idea how to take care of a baby and does not know anything about the baby’s father. Bethany would never talk to him about it. He decides this is his only family now and he will do everything in his power to take care of this child.
The two men’s paths cross at the hospital, then again at the funeral home. When Seth realizes that his sister and her friend, Carry, who was driving the car, were responsible for the death of Elijah’s father, he decides to go to Elijah’s house to apologize. Both men are devastated by their losses and Elijah is angry when he realizes it was Seth’s sister and her friend who caused the accident. Even in the throes of their grief, the men are attracted to one another and Elijah cannot blame Seth for something he had no control over. They end up spending the evening talking and drinking bourbon until Seth falls asleep next to Elijah on the floor. The next morning Elijah’s attraction to Seth leads him to kiss Seth and before it can go anywhere, Elijah’s best friend Rhett walks in. Rhett has subtly told Seth to stay away from Elijah when they met before at the funeral home. Now he makes certain Seth understands and Seth vows to stay away, believing they are in a relationship.
The saying “Oh, What a tangled web we weave” applies to this story. The relationship between Elijah and Seth, the jealous best friend, the circumstances surrounding the death of Seth’s sister and Elijah’s father, what we learn about the baby’s father and the lies surrounding all of this makes for a lot of emotional drama. The romance between Elijah and Seth moves very quickly and the authors address this in the story. There were scenes that I thought would not happen in real life but helped develop the romance between the characters. It has some heart wrenching moments and steamy sex between Elijah and Seth. I found some editing issues that were slightly distracting to the story but nothing that made me want to stop reading. I also thought the authors did a good job of presenting the risks of drinking and doing drugs while pregnant and the complications that can occur from that although not over detailed.
Even though I have some reservations about some things with in the story, overall it was a sweet romance with two very sexy men, a fair amount of tragedy and angst, steamy sex and a well deserved happy ending.

I don't want to be rude when I write this review, but I think I need to say some things. So, I will make this as painless as possible for the author. I am sorry, but this just didn't work for me. For a number of reasons and I will list them.
1. Some people might have a problem with Seth and Eli getting together so soon during all the death and grief, but I didn't. They didn't want to be alone and it worked. What didn't work was the blowjob practically on top of the grave. It was the sex in the hospital when Eli had a concussion and broken ribs. It was the going bareback after knowing someone 4 days "because I'm clean and have never gone bareback before" yet he's fathered a child?! Yes, I get it they are insanely attracted to each other and can't get enough, but somethings are taken too far, in my opinion.
2. Seth didn't cook, correct?! Then why did he have steaks/veggies/if I remember correctly baked potatoes? oh yeah and garlic butter. He doesn't cook and he's solo. Would he have 2 steaks just neatly sitting there ready to be grilled? Sorry this scene just made me laugh. They barely know each other yet Eli is rummaging through Seth's things and acting like he lives there.
3. The drama. UGH! C.O.M.M.U.N.I.C.A.T.E! So much time was wasted because they didn't open their mouths.
4. Kris and Rhett. Sorry, but no. Especially Rhett!
What did work for me?
1. Hope! She was actually part of the story. They visited her everyday and stayed as long as they could. They didn't just let the nurses take care of it.
Sorry, if this was harsh, but it's just little things I couldn't get behind.

This started out a 3 star read. Things were a little too soap operish at the beginning but I figured just go with it.
At times we get the same storyline told from first Eli then Seth's pov, but with no indication to let us know.
The drama is far to quick to happen, typical use of mis understandings and jumping to conclusions not just once or twice but through out the entire story.
Then it dropped to a 2 star. Far to much sex in the midst of grieving for me. I can go along with needing the comfort during grieving but having sex at the funeral? Nope not buying that. Not to mention that Eli seemed to be permanently horny just at the sight of Seth, regardless of the situation/place they were in.
The two best friends were used to promote mis understanings and cause more drama of the soapish kind, but apart from that I never saw them actually be a best friend.
But then it uses one of my biggest pet peeves and drops another star. Seriously you have fallen off a roof, cracked your ribs and have a concussion that has you throwing up and seeing double. You even pass out after a kiss. So on coming round what do you do? You Strain, Convulse and Writhe while getting a hand job. Seriously? Still at least after “the euphoric buzz helping to ease the shock waves of pain in his back and ribs to a dull roar.” Sorry but sex after such a serious injury is a real killer for me.
Another niggle for me was
As a whole this had a great idea. Take out the immediate thoughts of sex while supposedly grieving. Tone down the soap land drama a little and skip the whole best friends try to spoil things parts altogether and you might just have a shorter story that's worth reading. Sorry but this was a big all round fail for me.

Proofreader??? None??? Looks like....
Sappy, cheesy, over the top emotional and more than unrealistic.
I nearly did not finish.
If you like guys falling hard, having the best sex every time they come together, no matter that they just lost the most important person in their life or are hurt (like concussion and broken ribs), can't keep their hands and whatever of each other all the time...like an addict craving the next fix and if you are willing to overlook things like going bareback because of course Eli had been save every time he had sex, forget that he forgot that he fathered a daughter nine months ago in an encounter he only had vague memories off and things like Seth having steaks and vegetables at hand a few days after the funeral, despite he doesn't even cook....it is maybe a book for you. I should have kept tab how often their eyes filled with tears because of the emotional overload.
For me it was a glowing example that this book hasn't seen critical eyes before getting published.
Seeing all the good reviews, maybe it's me and I'm sure the authors had poured all their emotions in it but it's just too much.
On the other hand - I just checked the reviews on amazon and ...funny, funny...but there are a lot reviewers just reviewing Venus Moon, J.T. Cheyenne and maybe one or two other books. Think of it what you want.

I was truly entertained with this book. It had a lot of angst but not overly much. Two men brought together by an accident where they each lost a loved one and gained a baby. Super sweet with the standard misunderstanding that went on too long but still really enjoyable.

I was so thrilled with the point in time this story began at. It started when both the main characters had just gone through the worst that life could deal them, not knowing that there was still more to come. As a fan of J.T. Cheyanne's I went into this story with high expectations of both her and V.L. Moon.
Elijah is the son of a preacher man in southern Alabama. Not the ideal place to live if you even remotely question your sexuality. Having lost his mother when he was ten, he was so not prepared to lose his father twenty-five years later, to the day. He can't believe the hell his life has become, left all alone with no family, until a revelation at the viewing stuns him into disbelief. Shaken to his core by what he perceives to be his father's deception, Elijah is left struggling to find a new way with a virtual stranger.
This last year, Seth has tried to do his best for his twin sister knowing he should have fought harder for her years before when her struggles began. Now she's gone having left him with a baby girl and living in a town he moved to for her. Southern Alabama is not the best place for a gay man. When his sister's best friend drops the bomb on him at the viewing, his life takes a turn for the unreal.
Elijah and Seth wouldn't be the first, nor the last, people to lose themselves in each other versus dealing with their grief. And, in an aside, these guys are really, really hot together. Of course, Eli's best friend, Rhett, isn't about to let that happen and pulls every vindictive, manipulative trick in the book, the best a Southern "gal" can do. There's a lot of miscommunication that tears Eli and Seth back and forth during the course of their story. The love they both share for one baby girl, though, is pretty impressive and very sweet to watch.
I liked this story. I will admit that there were a number of places where the storyline became a little unreal and over the top, and although I think I understand where the authors were trying to go, it's possible they tried to take on too much for one story. Eli was quite the dichotomy as he was represented via his speech as a good ol' boy, but then some of his actions negated that. However, for me personally, I gave the authors the benefit of the doubt and enjoyed Elijah, Seth, and Hope regardless.

4.5 Stars from me!
First off, I have to say, oh my goodness!! This book was just wow... A heads up to everyone, make sure you have some tissues ready because there were some parts where I was moved to tears. And it takes a lot to move me to tears when it comes to reading a book. But this one did it.
The story itself is one that is full of love and heartache, you can't have one without the other that's for sure. Elijah and Seth's characters were written to an amazing degree, they both had their own personalities and you could tell the difference between the two when it came to where they were raised. Elijah is from the south, and a preachers son, you can tell that just from the way he talks and his actions. Seth is more laid back about everything, you can tell that he comes from an understanding family and has a really good background.
One thing I have to say, and this is so random but it's important to me, is the details that were went into when it comes to the NICU scenes. It wasn't just glossed over, it was very detailed and very realistic. The emotions that Elijah and Seth were going through when they were in the hospital were also very true.
I completely enjoyed reading this book, once I started it I didn't want to put it down because of how moving the story was. This book will bring out emotions that you didn't realize you had with each page that you turn. All in all, this book is a must read for sure if you like this genre. I would recommend it to everyone!

This book will have you in tears. Make sure you have tissues on hand because it's a good one! I love this book. The story is just amazing. Elijah and Seth are a wonderful couple and the twists and turns that these two men go through after such tragedy is heart breaking yet amazing at the same time.
Some might complain about how can people fall in love (or have sex) on the day/after a funeral or have sex on a car but I say it can happen. (besides it's a book!)
There were a few minor grammatical errors I ran across but it did not pull away from this wonderful story. And man, was the sex something! Hot and steamy and definitely delicious. Rhett and Kris were wonderful side characters too! Their humor and seriousness (and sometimes hurtful playfulness) brought another aspect to this lovely story.
Overall, I definitely enjoyed reading this book and can't wait to read others by V.L.Moon and J.T. Cheyanne.

Such a sweet story! I really enjoyed, but I couldn't stop wondering why both MCs just wouldn't talk to each other. It would have clarified a lot of the drama.
And I love a book with kids!
Nevertheless this was a beautiful romance with a cute couple, hot sex, a bit of drama, jealous best friends and finally a happily ever after! :)

This is a beautiful story of finding love in the middle of tragedy. I honestly don't know what to say other than you need to read this book.
