This 'report' (it's definitely not a book) provides an interesting reframe of what a round of golf could look like for a high handicapper. It's nothing revolutionary, but sometimes just being made aware of a simple concept can also be helpful, as I think will prove to be the case here.
For under $3, it's a worthwhile gambit to see if the outlined framework can help you derive a bit more consistency, and enjoyment, from this beautifully frustrating game.
Good strategies and thoughts for on course management and better scoring choices. I considered giving 5 stars, but I was put off and disappointed by the author's condescending attitude that female golfers play only from the red tees. He can't have played with too many better-playing ladies, and I know a number of senior gents who would be better off on the red tees but "those are only for ladies". I am a lady player aged 60+ and I and my buddies find we score better from the white tees as we have more comfortable full shots to the greens.
I found this book very informative. Short and to the point with plenty of great information to break 90. Keep the ball in play and moving down the fairway. Don’t play outside of your skill level.
Good mental reminder to play within yourself and also to enjoy the game. It's the best game in the world because it's full of challenges and uncertainties, but the moments of joy are sometimes hard to explain. This book drives at finding those moments of joy in a slightly different way.
This was a helpful compilation of most of the tips I have read or heard elsewhere. Almost like the author took the time to compile all the notes I have taken regarding strategy for golf.
Nothing too ground breaking, but well laid out, and easy to read. Great tips for a hacker like myself! Recommended to anyone looking to better their game.
Of all the books I have read, this one made my thinking about consistently playing and enjoying golf simple...yet powerful. No-brainer as to how to play YOUR game, not someone else's.
