I bought this book in 万圣书店 back when I was an undergrad at Tsinghua University. But I only read the first few chapters back then. This is the first time I finished reading it. To be honest, I did not enjoy reading it. The Chinese translation feels too 翻译腔. The topic of fonts is interesting to me, but I am not an avid fan of fonts. So this book sometimes feel too detailed and nuanced to me. Overall, I give it 3 starts, because it adds a bit to my knowledge base albeit not being a completely readable book. I learnt that Helvetica is a popular font invented by Swiss. I also learnt that Times New Roman was created for the famous newspaper Times. It's also pretty cool to know the modern popular fonts Consolas and Calibri are created by the same person.
