Amber Garza has had a passion for the written word since she was a child making books out of notebook paper and staples. Her hobbies include reading and singing. Coffee and wine are her drinks of choice (not necessarily in that order). She writes while blaring music, and talks about her characters like they're real people. She lives with her husband and two kids in Folsom, California, which is also home to another Amber Garza.

This book is very different from 'Starstruck' where Beckett is anything but a gentleman Ryker is the perfect one. There's cute scenes in the book that I loved, I also loved that the book was told from both points of view so we could get the depth in what was going on. Ryker, is such a sweetheart and honestly he doesn't think much of himself and it takes Lola to show him just how special he truly is, "if you keep looking so shocked I'm going to assume you are an actress. There's no way that someone as beautiful as you can be surprised by my statement." Ryker's gaze sweeps the room. "I think every guy in here has been eyeing you since you walked in. In fact, I bet they're all wondering what the hell you're doing talking to me." Ryker he puts his heart into everything and he's always honest, "you have no idea the thoughts that are going through my mind right now, Lola." He really does underestimate himself and that both shocks me and upsets me because he really is a great guy, "epic, huh?" I sigh. "I think you're overestimating Pierce and my ability to throw a party. It's going to be a bunch of guys and a keg of beer. Not exactly the lavish parties you probably had back home." Lola she's a lost girl always wanting to the right thing and plans everything what she didn't plan for was Ryker they really are perfect for each other and well Ryker ladies is quite the looker, "Lola's gaze lands on my bare chest and her mouth drops open. "Merry Christmas to me," she says, her voice throaty and seductive." Although I enjoyed reading about Ryker I have to say that Beckett still has my heart with all that naughtiness that's him.

Okay Okay Okay, stop pushing me.....fine...I will become an Amber Garza fan....twist my arm!!!!!

As I mentioned in part 1 we saw sneak peaks into Lola and Ryker's relationship and I thought I knew what to expect. I was completely wrong.

These two had so much going on it wasn't even funny.

I thought Lola was going to have a perfect life...WRONG

I thought Ryker was going to be the struggling musician who just doesn't want to work and stay young forever...WRONG

Where do I start...

Lola wanted to get as far away from her life in California. When she first saw Ryker, he was exactly what she was looking for. She was looking for fun, easy going, not complicated. Lola needed control in her life and the more time she spent with Ryker, the more it started to slip away.

Ryker knew Lola was out of his league, he was a struggling musician and going to school full-time for business. When he saw her, he knew he had to have her. Before long, he realized that he was falling fast, but he knew he couldn't risk the fall with his secret.

"Even though I'm sure I don't stand a chance in hell with her, I know that I've got to try. There's just something about her; something different.

These two together were oddly perfect. I loved reading about these two and was routing for them to get past the two secrets that stood between them.

In the opening of the book, we are hit with a BAM IN YOUR FACE, BET YOU DIDN'T EXPECT THAT DID YOU moment. So the whole book I was waiting to find the answer as to why that happened and every page I turned I was more excited with what I learned about these two.

They both loved eachother, but Lola was afraid to let him in when she knew that her family would not approve.

"That's why I've never fallen in love. The idea of relinquishing control to another person scares the shit out of me. I never want someone to have that kind of power over me."

Ryker was afraid to admit to Lola how he felt and she not feel the same about him.

"Love is a risk, and I think that before you met me, you hadn't met anyone worth the risk.

I will just like to point out that Ryker's addiction was priceless and so sweet **sigh**:

"When we're not together she's all I think about. I count down the minutes until we are together like an addict waiting for his next fix. The only time I feel contect is when I'm with her."

I have noticed a similarity in all of Garza's books and half the fun is finding out what moral she is trying to get across.

All three books that I have read, I have had a hard time putting down and before I knew it I was clicking to the last page. These are the books I love, that at the end I am telling whoever I can to read this book.

Great Job, once again.

Ryker was a huge favorite of mine from Star Struck, so when I found out he was getting his very own story, I couldn't wait! Lola and Ryker don't have it easy--unsupportive parents, a past secret, and current struggles all combine for a rocky road for these two, but you'll find yourself pulling for them each step of the way. It's hard not to love a guy like Ryker and at times I wanted to shake Lola to make her see how perfect for her he was. But that's what I love most about stories like this: the uncertainty that drives the relationship and story. And the epilogue--LOVED it. The perfect ending to a great read!

Ok I'm hooked on an author

I loved this book.

Why? It dealt with real life issues. It's a book/series a mother and daughter can read. It's well written and thought out. There is so much to say for a romance book that has true love in it.

Every story has its ups and downs, it's what we do that keeps the flame burning. Ryker is a testament of a man that knows what he wants. He isn't perfect but he knows what needs to be done. Lola is my girl. Man can I relate to her character.

I do believe I have a new fave author, I must binge read Amber Garza and you should too.

I really enjoyed reading about the hot musician Beckett in the first book in this series but it was really another character who caught my eye. Love Struck tells the story of Ryker, a member of Beckett’s band. The good thing about these books is that even though they’re a series, they can easily be read as stand-alone books.

Ryker couldn’t believe his luck when Lola showed up to one of his band’s shows one night. He had never seen a more beautiful girl and couldn’t take his eyes off of her. He knew she was way out of his league but he also knew that he had to take a chance on her. Ryker doesn’t ‘do’ love though and only his hidden secret can reveal why. Ryker was such a lovely character. Although he has a bad boy exterior, he cares so much for the people around him and works hard. He’s a musician and also goes to school first class to study business. He wants to make something of his life but the only thing he thinks he can’t have is love. Ryker melted my heart a little bit throughout this book but I’ll get to why in a little bit.

Lola comes across as the spoiled rich girl with a bit of an attitude. However, it was clear that as she spent more time with Ryker, there was so much more to her than meets the eye. Just like Ryker, Lola feels instantly attracted to him but she knows she shouldn’t let him in. Her mother certainly wouldn’t approve. Lola has a bewitching effect on Ryker but their relationship is far from perfect. Both character have their own issues which obviously causes tension on them as a couple.

Love Struck has a more exciting plot than I was expecting. Although a lot of the book focuses on Ryker and Lola’s relationship and the feelings between them, there is also so much more going on. Ryker has a secret that he never shares with anyone and Lola, well, she’s a mess pretty much. Her family have an overwhelming control over Lola and how she lives her life and she feels as though she cannot be herself around them. This puts so much pressure on Lola and how she acts in life and the result is a certainly damaging lifestyle. Ryker begins to see glimpses of Lola’s problems and although he tries to help her, she pushes him away.

When I started to read this book, I thought it would be extremely predictable and I thought I knew exactly how things would go. I was wrong. Amber Garza throws in so many surprises and shocks throughout the book and I never knew whether I was coming or going. Love Struck is so much better than the first in this series and I can’t wait to read more from this author now.

Oh how I loved this book, Ryker & Lola are such a great couple! They have so many great moments, but there are also struggles: but they both bring out the best in each other & they support each other. They have silly fun moments, as well as serious & sexy ones! Ryker is amazing, definitely one of my top book boyfriends. I love that he isn't completely perfect, but still pretty much amazing, especially for a guy his age. This book had me nervous for awhile because Lola kept pushing him away & had trouble dealing with her issues (I love that she isn't perfect either, also some other issues that were touched on I could relate too & I like that, makes the character feel more real). Like I said together they make a great couple & it was nice to see them work through it despite the mishaps. Loved the epilogue as well :)

When Lola meets Ryker, they fell in love fast e become an item fast. The angst is to overcome their issues to be really together. Ryker's issues were nothing, he fell for her hard and he wasn't afraid to tell her so. Lola was a rich kid who suffered bullying from her parents, developed bulimia and controlling tendencies and wasn't strong enough to confront them, so she did most things their way - which did not include Ryker. The story is how they get together and then really together.
I think I didn't like this book so much because they were already together, reaching for each other was not the problem, the problem was their family issues, which are kind of hard and I don't like them much. I'd rather do books with platonic couples.

After writing Star Struck, many readers emailed me to ask if I would write about Lola and Ryker. So I did. And they were so fun to write about. I hope you enjoy reading about them too! And for those of you who loved Beckett and Star, we get to see them in this book as well.
