Hugh Latimer was a warm-hearted lover of the poor of soul and poor of body. His straightforward, honest, and biblical preaching brought the gospel of Jesus Christ to thousands upon thousands of his countrymen. Through thirty years of ministry, his voice was the clearest and most influential in England for the great truths of the Reformation and set the standards for generations of English-speaking preachers to follow. His faith in Christ while facing death at the stake continues to inspire Christians nearly five centuries later.

Excellent book about the life of a little know PROTESTANT Reformationist, Hugh Latimer. He was one of the key Christian men in bringing about the Gospel, pure and simple, to the average person in England, and afterwards, around the globe. This is a short book, but so well written! I learned a lot and am interested in reading more about the other Protestant Reformers Mr. Hannula mentioned in the book. Please read this if you're a Christian. You will learn something good.
I skimmed though this book pretty quickly. It seems to do a pretty solid job of summarizing Latimer's life. One thing I was disappointed in, though, was that although very little is known about Latimer's early life, the author did not include all the facts John Foxe gives in his Acts and Monuments/Book of Martyrs.
This is short but detailed biography of Latimer. It's very readable but also challenging to learn what he, and other reformers, endured to keep true to their faith. Learnt a lot. Highly recommend.
