Loving on the Edge #4.4

Not Until You Part IV: Not Until You Trust

Rate this book

Part 4 of 8 of an intensely erotic serial in the Loving on the Edge series. Perfect for fans of Fifty Shades of Grey.

Naive Cela had a glimpse into the world of BDSM. But, as Roni Loren’s compelling Not Until You series continues, will Cela really take the plunge and leave her vanilla life behind?

Despite desperately wanting to satisfy her curiosity, Foster is not about to introduce Cela to his true dominant side. For one thing, she’s far too innocent to get involved in that kind of scene; for another, he’s already becoming way more interested in her than makes him comfortable. But when he comes home after a frustrating day and finds Cela hanging out with Pike, all of Foster’s possessive urges rise to the surface.

Cela is left breathless and shaken after getting a glimpse of Foster’s dominance unleashed. Maybe he was right, and she isn’t ready for something so intense. But when she can’t get their nights together out of her mind, she comes up with a daring plan to see just how much they’re both willing to risk…

Another amazing read! I love how this story is progressing. The romance is coming along nicely--I can't wait to see where they take their relationship next.

Oh, and Pike! Pike is so damn adorable. Love him!

This series was comprise of very short stories—-maybe 50 pages at the most—-that would have made one novel because each was a continuation of Part I. Does that make sense? At about $1.99 each, I read all eight books, which made it a bit expensive, IMHO, but I must have enjoyed them, because I read them, so I’ll stop complaining right now:)

Well, this story keeps getting better and better the deeper into it we go! Foster – I adore you so much…

In Not Unitl You Crave, reality starts to intrude. And nothing is quite as shocking as your brother seeing you do the walk of shame. Having to face her big brother immediately after her night with Foster forces Cela to deal with the truth: that what she and Foster had was only a one night stand. It can't be more. Cela's innocent and inexperienced, not to mention leaving in a few weeks, and Foster is all dark needs and dominance and control. Even if Cela submitted so beautifully, she's still vanilla. Foster’s been down that road one too many times.

In Not Until You Trust, Cela finally gets a taste of what it'd really be like to be with Foster. After days of trying to avoid each other, neither one can stay away. A lonely night, a little bit of confusion that makes Foster's possessive side rear up, and Cela is introduced to Foster's dark side. And, while in the dark, they get to know each other better. But that doesn’t change the fact that there's only one week left till she moves, so fantastic night with a flogger aside, they need to say goodbye…

Oh, how these two drive me crazy (in a good way)! The more that we discover about Cela and Foster, the more I want these two to figure it out. I’m really looking forward to Cela getting out from under her father’s thumb… and Foster letting go of his past failed relationships. These two need fresh starts. And, of course, I can’t wait to see everything Foster has to offer Cela. The man is all hard angles and steely control—and Cela is all softness and sweet submission. A perfect match. When they both finally give in… watch out! It will be beautiful and sizzling!

This series gets better and better. I loved that Jace was in this for a tiny bit.

Cela keeps flirting with the unknown with Foster. She hadn't seen his true side but something in her wants to. It's a mixture of fear, shame and excitement that is slowly pushing Cela into Foster's world. She's ashamed and feels guilty for how her body reacts to what he does to her. But it all has to do with her upbringing.

I love how Cela worries about her brother Andre and about him ruining his friendship with Jace over a woman. She's so understanding when she starts to figure things out and her love for her brother doesn't change.

Foster keeps getting himself in over his head with Cela. He opens up to her a bit and tells her about his sister. But Cela makes me want to slap her. She's young and confused but she doesn't know if she wants to stay or if she should go home to the life her father has planned for her. I want to shake her because she has feelings for Foster but she doesn't really want to admit them.

In this installment Cela gets a glimpse of the dominant side of Foster. They try to stay away from each other but they can't. Pike is such a good friend, he loves Foster like a brother and doesn't want to see him get hurt again. Of course jealousy rears its ugly head when Foster finds Pike and Cela together in the apartment after he comes home from a long frustrating day. It's a change to see Foster so jealous he can't see straight.

I love this series and can't wait till the next part. Highly recommend to anyone over 17.

As you read NOT UNTIL YOU TRUST, you will feel the frustration that both Foster and Cela are feeling. There is also a touch of angst on Foster's side. I think Loren did a good job of translating those emotions on the page. Both of them will have to be willing to fight for each other in order to receive their happily-ever-after.

Length: 60 pages(ish) each
Series: Loving on the Edge #3.51 - 3.58

Overview(s)

Not Until You Dare:

On the night of her graduation, innocent veterinary student Cela decides to play a game of Never Have I Ever with the two hot neighbors she’s been quietly crushing on for the last year. Always the prim and proper student, Cela thinks she’s earned a wild night before she has to move back home under the watchful gaze of her family. But what starts out as a simple game is about to take a very sensual turn...

Ian Foster is tired of playing games. With his membership to The Ranch, an exclusive BDSM resort, and a musician roommate named Pike who brings home groupies with a taste for ménage, Foster has a life most guys would kill for. But lately, his need for dominance is no longer satisfied via one-night stands. He craves the full surrender of one woman—a submissive of his own.

But when his quiet, sweet-as-sugar neighbor shows up at their door with a bottle of tequila and an invitation, Foster decides he and Pike may have time for one more fling…

Not Until You Risk

Cela’s sexy game of Never Have I Ever with her neighbors has turned into a night of Truth or Dare, with her revealing her deepest desires and letting go like she’s never done before. After some seductive dancing, the trio decides to move to a more private location: a swanky hotel where Foster is determined to explore Cela’s wildest fantasies.

As the heat between the three begins to sizzle, Cela finds herself drawn to Foster, whose dominance over her is almost too much to handle. But Cela’s got a secret she hasn’t yet shared, something that could bring their passionate encounter to a screeching halt…

Not Until You Crave

As the threesome returns home from their wild night, Foster is still reeling from the truth about Cela and angry at himself for feeling more than he should for a one night stand. So when he’s confronted by Cela’s angry and protective older brother, he agrees to stay away from his alluring neighbor. He knows he’s got no business messing with a vanilla girl—especially one who tests his self-control at every turn.

Cela’s still not ready to give up on Foster or the intense connection they shared. So when a harmless midnight texting session turns into an irresistible invitation, she can’t say no. But later when she runs into Foster dressed in leather pants and heading out for a late night at The Ranch, she begins to grasp that there’s a whole other side to him she never imagined—a darkness that both intrigues and terrifies her...

Not Until You Trust

Despite desperately wanting to satisfy her curiosity, Foster is not about to introduce Cela to his true dominant side. For one thing, she’s far too innocent to participate in that kind of lifestyle; for another, he doesn’t want to get attached when she’ll be leaving town so soon.
But when she can’t get her mind off their nights together, she comes up with a daring plan to see just how much they’re both willing to risk…

Not Until You Beg

Foster has been pushed past the point of temptation. So even though he fears Cela’s interest in his world is a passing whim, he agrees to teach her the art of submission. But he’s not going to hold anything back—if she wants to see this side of him, he’s going to show her how deep his dominance runs.

Cela’s initial intrigue begins to give way to doubt as she struggles with the submissive role and the desires it stirs within her. Having spent her whole life being controlled by her domineering father, she’s unsure if she’s ready to put herself under the command of another man. But when she breaks Foster’s most important rule, she puts herself in a situation more intense than she bargained for…

Not Until You Surrender

Cela willingly accepts Foster’s difficult penalty for what she’s done and finds herself more vulnerable and more attracted to him than ever. Unfortunately, she’s also more confused. She’s drawn to Foster’s dark desires but scared by the intensity of her surrender and her growing need for him. So as outside pressures mount, how is she supposed to make the hardest decision of her life?

Foster is falling further and further for Cela, but right as he’s tempted to tell her how he feels, she approaches him with a heartbreaking proposition. There isn’t much Foster wouldn’t sacrifice for Cela’s happiness, but this time that may mean watching the girl he could truly love walk away..

Not Until You Believe

Having flirted with forbidden desires, Cela leaves Foster and returns home to her small Texas town to work in her father’s veterinary practice and embrace a “normal” life. Everything is exactly how she left it—everything except her. But Foster made his feelings clear about their relationship, and she’s determined to find a way forward without him...even if her heart refuses to let go.

Foster knows that he made a mistake in letting Cela go before he told her his true feelings. Intending to set things right, he goes to her hometown to lay himself bare. But when he gets there, he sees Cela in a compromising situation that makes him doubt that they had anything special at all...

Not Until You Love

When Cela walked into his life, scared, innocent, and seeking thrills beyond her wildest dreams, Foster never expected she could become the submissive he’s always desired. Cela has changed, has blossomed into something he can’t resist, and she’s ready and willing to surrender to Foster fully.

But when devastating news reminds Foster how tragically he failed to take care of someone he loved in the past, he wonders what right he has to be with a woman as beautiful and vibrant as Cela. She’ll leave eventually anyway—everyone always does.

But Cela isn’t about to let Foster chase her away. Can she convince this dominant playboy that her love for him is here to stay?

My Thoughts

I really enjoyed this story. i think that it was a reprieve from what i felt yesterday after reading Fall Into You. Anyhow, we are introduced right off the bat to Cela (Marcela) who just happens to be Andre's little sister. That's foreboding if I ever heard it myself. We meet her on the night of her graduation from Vet school when we see her coming home after the ceremony alone w/ a bottle of Tequila. She runs into her two sexy neighbors so you know where this has to go. Alcohol and sexy neighbor boys - and an innocent girl. Yup, my mind goes there.

What we get through this series of stories is what i thought was truly going to be another menage situation with interesting dynamic and power struggles across the board, but we don't get that at all. There are certainly power struggles between Cela and Foster, but Pike turns out to be an all around good guy that's really just a side character.

The nice thing about this installment of the bigger series is that we get the great D/s dynamic, but it's similar to what i got from Cerise Sinclair's Master of the Shadowlands series where the sub isn't really 100% decided that she wants to be part of the scene or even knows what she's getting into. Cela gives Foster a bit of a struggle at EVERY turn and that makes for some very steamy scenes when she does submit. We learn a lot about the level of Pain that Foster likes and how much Cela is willing to put out there without compromising her job, freedom, family and everything else.

What's really nice too is that we get to see Andre interspersed here as well - so you never know what's going to happen. We know that he's hiding his relationship situation from his sister and their family so that's something that I know i kept wondering if i'd see get played out here.

The other great thing about this series of chapters is that Foster has on the surface a charmed life, but it's not ever that easy - and that's kind of what makes him the way that he is - controlling, dominating and into pain. He has this haunted past that really makes us wish for the best outcome, but that would be too nice and tidy if that were the case.

In any event i feel much better about this whole 'Loving on the Edge' series now and thankfully Caught Up In You comes out very soon so we get the next installment even before i've had a chance to cool off from this one. Very steamy, very naughty, and very dynamic.

Wow! So I am still so in love with this series and now I have read half of it. Of course, that just keeps me anxiously awaiting more of it! This is the forth book in a series of eight, so if you haven't read the first three, what are you waiting for? And before you read any further, this review will spoil the first three... so go grab a copy of them and get started! They are quick little reads and you are sure to fall in love with the two male leads in the series! I know I have.

If you have read the first three or are a glutton for spoilers, keep reading.

So far in this saga, we have watched Cela, a young graduate, create a mini-bucket list of sorts but these are not things like skydiving or climbing a fourteener... They are so much simpler. Well... maybe... Cela writes her "I never ever" list and quickly with a bottle of tequila gets started on it; of course, there is only so much on that list she can do without the hot sexy neighbors getting involved. But of course they do... they have been lusting after her for quite some time.

One night, one game, one hotel, one v-card... all checked at the door. But something has lingered inside Cela. She is now pretty hung up on Hunter, one of the hotties from next door. But Hunter has a dark side and he knows that Cela is too inexperienced and too innocent to veer into that direction. Hunter tries his hardest to keep her away. He knows she is leaving soon to go live out her perfectly planned life, designed by her father. But Cela cannot help the attraction she feels. The one night she knows that Hunter will not be around, she decides it will be great to hang out with Pike and help him adjust to his newest roomie, but when Hunter comes home after a bad day, he releases a bit of pent up anger all over Pike and Cela before going to his room.

Cela is furious and follows, determined to make him listen to what she has to say. She needs for him to know that she is attracted to him and she wants to know about the lifestyle that he leads. But Hunter doesn't want to ruin her. He doesn't want to lead her into his world.

GAH! Roni Loren has just got this web spun so darn tight, you can't help but want even more. I know I have said that after reading each book in the series, but so many things happen in this book and I cannot wait to see how Cela's life unfolds and if Hunter will be in her life. If she can be a part of his life... I have not wanted to put a single one of these short reads down at any point after picking them up. I have enjoyed each angsty moment and I long for the next episode so I can watch it all unfold.

These are great books and I am just loving the length because they keep me interested, but they don't take all day to read and of course, you know there is more coming so it just makes them so much more appealing to me. Of course all of the hot lovin' works well too!

4.5 Stars!

The books are part of an 8 volume serial. Basically one book split up into 8 parts. Normally I avoid serials entirely, but part 1 was free and I've heard some great things about Roni Loren's books. Wow, was I glad I picked up part 1! Not Until You will forever be one of my all-time favorite books and Roni Loren has landed on my top 5 list of one-click authors!

Cela Medina is as straight-arrow as they come. The straight-A student, perfectionist that always chose school and studying over friends and parties. But now she's graduated from college and is about to move back home and start her life under the watchful eye of her family. So when she sees her super hot neighbors, Foster and Pike on the night of her graduation she thinks why the hell not. Judging by the noises she's heard through the thin walls of her apartment and the women the two men share, it should be the kind of wild night she deserves.

But she soon learns that Foster is a member of the exclusive BDSM resort, The Ranch, and he's not looking for a fling or a one-night stand. He wants a woman that will stick around and surrender to him. To be his submissive.

Now here's why I loved Roni Loren's writing. Her style was so superbly written, that for someone like me who will never understand the lifestyle could get sucked into the story and feel as if I did. Roni pulled me in so deep that I was experiencing Cela's desire to be with Foster and his dark yet exciting ways. Now, this isn't the first time an author has done this for me. But we're talking about subjects that are way beyond my comprehension. What really made Roni's writing stand out was the way the characters expressed their feelings and actions. Every word and scene was in there for a reason, not like so many books I've read that made me wonder… why do I need to know this? Or worse, why is the author repeating it yet again? The writing was organic and flowed nicely.

And I especially loved how each character overcame something in the story. In my opinion, this is a must for a good book. They should learn something or get passed something from their past that will make them a better person. The kind of person the love of their life deserves. It just makes me as a reader feel like now, finally, they can have their happily ever after.

Cela's moment had me tearing up. But Foster's! Oh, my God, I cried like a baby. Interested? Read the books!

Ménage… BDSM… not my thing. But Roni Loren can write about anything and I'll read it!

So why not 5 out of 5? There were some minor editorial issues. Each of the volumes had something in it. Switching from first person to third within a sentence. (Celea's POV was written in first and Foster's was in third.) And some missing words here and there.

A copy of this book was provided by the publisher for an honest review at SeductiveMusings.blogspot.com.

Cela is starting to reconsider her plans to go back home and work for her father. The veterinary clinic where she’s been working part-time would love to have her stay, but she’s not sure what would keep her there now that Foster is apparently out of her life for good. Pike’s visit to the clinic is a welcome distraction and with Foster out of town, she’s more than willing to help Pike get settled in his apartment with the dog he decides to adopt. The moment when Foster arrives home unexpectedly to find Cela attempting to instruct Pike on how to show dominance over the recalcitrant dog is one of the funniest scenes based on gross misunderstanding that I've read in quite some time, and shows that Foster is not only still totally hung up on Cela but that she is more than ready to take what he’s ready to give her. And yet after another amazing night of sexual dominance and submission, this time it’s Cela who walks away, afraid of what she’s done and might do in the future.

Meanwhile all the plans that have been made regarding Cela’s future are still in motion, as her father announces he’s bought a house for her that’s right across the street from her parents. When she visits Andre at the loft he shares with Jace and Evan, she discovers the true nature of their triad relationship that he has hidden from his entire family. She also has an illuminating discussion with Jace’s brother, Wyatt, about her planned future in the family business. His experienced perspective helps her reconsider her decision to go along with what her family wants, and she decides that what she really wants is Foster. That’s when she blackmails Andre into taking her to the Ranch to confront Foster in his element and let him know she can stay as long as he wants her.

Another round of Cela and Foster coming together and splitting apart, and I’m wondering if the serial format makes this repetitive behavior more or less annoying. And yet, because I’m a sucker for true love and the Happily Ever After, I’m still ready to find out what’s going to happen next and how Foster will handle Cela confronting him on his home turf.

This serial is getting so good! Not Until You Trust is my favorite installment so far.

Cela is still pining over Foster but Foster is still determined to keep his distance. It's best if he doesn't let his true self out for Cela no matter how much he wants to. Cela, in her naivete, thinks that Foster's kink is just a little spanking and being bossy. Poor innocent Cela. She has no idea that it goes way beyond that.

A lot happens in Not Until You Trust and Cela has to decide how much she truly wants Foster. Does she want the vanilla guy that he tries to be when he's around her or does she want his dominance? Jace, Andre and Evan are prominent in this story and some things come to light for Cela. Yay! Cela is no longer in the dark and she's ready to go after her man.

I am so excited to see where things are headed. Waiting a week for the next installment is such torture!

I picked up the first 2 novellas in this series as a freebie on Amazon, well I am an Amazon Kindle Freebie Whore. As soon as I started reading the first one I was absolutely hooked and immediately bought the remainder of the series. Because I read all 8 consecutively my review is for all 8.

OMG this series is amazing. It is absolute perfection. It is hot, hot, hot. The characters and their dynamics are so well developed. Everything about this book is beautifully interwoven. The story grabs you from the very first page and you don't want to put it down. I don't have the words to describe how awesome this series is, and am just in awe at this author.

I would recommend reading this series how I did, because you're going to be left with cliffhangers otherwise.

I wish I had realised this was 3.5 in the Loving on the Edge series when I started, but that's my own fault.
