Resurrection Planet
Ronald Crisp, ex-Marine and now full-time mercenary, leads a small elite team to Sybaris, a wasteland world where hideous murders and even cannibalism have been reported by terrified research scientists and miners. Only a planet of the damned could generate so much misery, mayhem, and Machiavellian conspiracies--as Crisp confronts winds and sand that threaten to shear the flesh from men’s bones and the indigenous wildlife and plants that arise from nowhere and return beneath the surface in a matter of minutes. But it is the human--or once human--nightmarish army feasting on the settlers that will chill the heart of a calculating and self-serving anti-hero like Crisp. Especially when he discovers that he knows the evil only too well...and finally learns why Sybaris is called the “Resurrection Planet.”

Overall I enjoyed this book, especially since I am in a zombie/apocalypse mood lately. And for a free book on Amazon, I got no major complaints.
The story was a little slow getting started, but once it got going it was fast paced and interesting. The ending seemed too abrupt to me. I was interested in the next step for Crisp and his merry band of zombies. I can't help but feel there should have been more to the story--is there a part 2?

I see this more as an introduction to maybe a possible series. The galaxy view seems interesting, but there are too many jumps. Maybe its still a rough-draft?

"Resurrection Planet" is too short to adequately cover do much more than sketch out the story.
Zombies that aren't, and a miraculous plant that Ronald Crisp - only recently arrived on the planet - accidentally discovers.
Sybaris is a mining planet in revolt and mercenary Crisp has brokered a deal which, if successful, will see him in control with the backing of the Revived Roman Empire.
Crisp is practical, cynical and not particularly likeable most of the time - what's best for him is definitely, in his opinion, best for everyone.
If that means being the last man standing, well he's ok with that.
Some of the time it reads like a dry-run for a longer novel.
2.5 Stars rounded up.

This wasn't what I thought it would be but still entertaining.

I'm torn. I read this book till the end but Im' not quite sure why. The story felt rushed, the main character wasn't likeable.
Some aspects were fascinating but underdeveloped - the cure to zombiism, hell, the reason why people came back from the dead in the first place.
I think I mostly read it to know what a sci-fi zombie adventure would be like.

Mediocre zombie tale, set on a dry dusty planet with mining colonies. Too little is explained about the origins of the virus and the possible cure. Didn't like the ending, the main character, already somewhat unlikeable, is shown to be totally mercenary and without compassion.

Reminded me of some much loved, older scifi. The Zombie story is well done with quite a few twists from the norm. Well done.

Ho Hum A rather dry little tale, with barely any likable characters, and zombies that weren't very well fleshed out.
