This is the third Trixie Montgomery book. You do not have to read these books in sequence to follow these delightful ladies but frequent referrals to prior adventures will make reading more enjoyable if you do. The characters are fun and funny, and the type of people you want to hang around with. These ladies are fierce proponents of each other, going the extra mile to take care of each other. When met with challenges, they come together to help. Wouldn't you want friends like this? Malone has delivered another warm, welcoming look at life in lovely Georgia.
I love all 3 main characters in this series. This one had me wondering who was going to be the correct suspect till almost the end. But the reason for the murder did surprise me.
My first occasion to read anything by Deborah Malone. This is an enjoyable book--definitely worth reading if you enjoy fiction that is clean, fun, good storytelling about characters who could be real people.
I bought the book from the author at a writers conference--no awareness. I was talking to a writer an adjacent table and she invited me to check out her books. I mentioned that I liked to read cozy mysteries about cats and she recommended Terror On Tybee Island. The cat character isn't quite as prominent as I would have hoped. :) That said, I'm happy that I bought the book and read it.
I like to encourage good writers and Deborah definitely has talent as a writer and storyteller. I might've rated it a 4, but a very few times the writing jumped out at me as being slightly choppy. This wasn't OFTEN, just a very few paragraphs across the 158 page book. I point that out NOT as a criticism, but (I hope) to help the writer continue to advance in her work and calling as a writer.
If you like positive fiction that's fun to read and uplifting, not depressing, not depraved, then I definitely recommend Terror on Tybee Island and I look forward to checking out other books in this series.
Delightful, delightful read!! When I saw the cover, I immediately loved it. Can't wait to read the other 2 in the series. Great job, Deborah! I can't wait to read more of your great works!!
This is another great story in the Trixie Montgomery series. I love that it took place in two of my favorite spots in Georgia. Tybee Island and Savannah. I can't wait till the next book!
