“Nothing makes us as lonely as our secrets”
Not having any sisters of my own, I’ve really enjoyed watching Amos Yoder’s daughters pursue their own ‘happily-ever-afters.’ Sarah has been both a sister and mother to this busy household- I wasn’t sure she’d ever think of her own needs. But the return of mysterious Noah suddenly makes her consider a different future for herself. I could empathize with both characters as she tried to wrangle his secrets out of him, and he tried to hide his past when he thought it would derail their future. His parents also played an interesting and pivotal role in this story. I love their patience and faithfulness during their son’s continuing struggles.
This has been a great series, dealing with serious topics like mental illness, and now, the shame of incarceration. I appreciate Chapman using her comfortable writing style to veer outside the usual Amish boundaries to examine emotions from a different angle. I received a complimentary copy of this book and was not required to post a review.

Even though this is the fourth book in the Indiana Amish Market series, it can be enjoyed even if you haven’t read the others before it.

Sarah and Noah were such a sweet couple together! I loved the way they found themselves falling for each other. Sarah really wanted to know where Noah had been for ten years and would try to get him to open up and share, but Noah was very good at redirecting the conversations. I really felt for both of them. My heart hurt for Sarah as she realized that Noah was hiding an important part of his past from her and that a long lasting relationship could not be made with someone who didn’t trust her with the truth. And I felt sad for Noah because he just didn’t think Sarah could still care for him if she knew what had happened.

I loved the pacing of this story, learning all that Noah had overcome, how he had changed from the person he used to be, and also seeing the honorable hearts that both of these characters had. I really didn’t want to set this book down once I started reading it!

Another winner by Vannetta Chapman

I started this book and had to stop for a bit as it hit very close to home. See our son fell into the life of drugs and everything it entails. We lived in fear of “that call.” The call either he had been arrested or was found overdosed. It’s not something I’ve shared a lot but as we move from that stage of life I do. I pray he is on the same path as Noah and is on the clean and healthy side of life. I pray he fights and wins against those demons everyday. Noah reminded me so much of our son. No matter how he was raised he had to experience life on his terms and learn the hard way.

Chapman is correct when she says drugs is a fight we all fight regardless of our background or faith. It is an epidemic that has touched every square inch of this world.

This series has been fun to read and I am ready for Eunice’s story, the last sister.

An endearing tale of love growing between an unlikely couple. Noah Beiler returns to his family home amid speculation about the ten missing years he’s been absent. He finds a job at the large Amish market we’ve come to love in this Indiana Amish Market series. I enjoyed catching up with the Yoder family, whose patriarch, Amos, owns the expanding market. Eldest daughter, Sarah, is featured in this tender story. Their growing relationship offers an engaging read and brought tears at times as his secret comes to light and he struggles with the future. I recommend this wonderful novel. I received a copy from the author. All opinions are my own.

As Noah returns after being away for 10 years, how will he explain his absence or will he bury it away? Sarah is getting on in years for being of prime marriageable age for the Amish.She is attracted to Noah and wants to know more about him. But Noah is very guarded about the past and worries about her finding out about his past. It is a sweet story but will forgiveness be enough? I have enjoyed this series very much and enjoyed this book as well. I recommend it for readers of Amish romance.

The Mysterious Amish Bachelor is the fourth book in the series Indiana Amish Market. Even though this is the fourth book in the series you will be ok to read it as a stand alone, but all in the series are good. A wonderful series of faith, forgiveness, ,and hope. This is Noah and Sarah’s story. Noah has been gone from his community for ten years, and now back and trying to keep a secret. Sarah has helped her sisters growing up and now it is just her father, sister, and her. She finds Noah, the mysterious bachelor ,interesting and she is determined to know more about him and where was he for ten years? Noah feels he can’t have a life with anyone. Will Noah’s secret be a wedge between them? This story brought tears to my eyes and other times laughter. Vannetta Chapman write of a problem you would think the Amish did not have to deal with, but they are just like us, things happen. I was given a complimentary copy of this book. This is the fourth book in the Indiana Amish Market series, but it can be read as a standalone novel However, a greater appreciation can be gained for the characters if you do read them in order. Core themes in the series are forgiveness, faith, and hope, and that is the same for this installment. This is a sweet love story between an unlikely couple. For those who have read the prior books in the series, it is nice to catch up on what's the Yoder family members are up to. This book focuses on the older sister, Sarah. The faith theme is woven throughout, but it is not preachy. Chapman has a writing style that quickly pulls the reader in and makes them feel a part of the story. Ada and her unique expressions add a lighthearted touch to the story. I enjoy the multiple POVs, which gives the reader a well-rounded view of everything.

THE MYSTERIOUS AMISH BACHELOR by Vannetta Chapman is the 4th book in the Indiana Amish Market series. It’s the fabulous story of Sarah Yoder and Noah Beiler as they try to make peace with the past, which directly affects the present, and the future direction of their lives.

Sarah is the eldest daughter. At the death of her mother when she was only 11, she felt it was her place to step into the mamm (mother) role to her four younger schweschderns (sisters) and to take care of the household. Now, after three of her schweschdern have married and sure the remaining one will find the perfect suitor too, she finds herself with free time, suffering a sort of empty nest feeling and wondering what the rest of her life will look like. At 31, she’s passed the normal marrying age for young Amish girls. Then there’s the whole Runaway Bride thing. Was it that she didn’t feel right leaving her Daed (Dad) and family who needed her or were they just not the right ones. Yes, there had been three break ups!

Noah has a lot of baggage from his past. A restless youngie, he left his parents, the only home he knew, his upbringing and his faith behind for the bright lights of the big city. The wrong crowd and experimenting with the forbidden ended with him being arrested once, twice, three times you’re out on drug related charges ending in a lengthy sentence in jail – 10 years. It woke him up, brought him back to his senses and had him longing for the life he once tossed away.

Out on parole after 8 years 6 months served, part of Noah’s parole orders is to register with the local police and to inform his employer that he’s on parole. He feels blessed that his parents were able to get him transferred from Illinois to Indiana so he could once again see and be with his parents. He’s thankful for Bishop Ezekiel for his understanding and willingness to allow him to join the church without a full confession since what happened was before his joining the church, and extremely thankful for Amos Yoder, who offered him a job even knowing his past, giving him a chance to work and earn a living. Back in Shipshewana, living with his parents and trying to pretend that past never happened. To him a secret kept is less fodder for the gossip grapevine and less heartache for his parents who have already paid too deep a price for his mistakes.

With no eligible bachelors her age, and not read to marry an elderly widow, Sarah sees no hope of a future other than for what she already knows. But is it enough? Dare she dream for more? Will she find working outside of the home fulfilling? How will having Noah as a boss work out? Will they find that they have lots in common? Will she ever get him to talk to her about the 10 years he was gone away from Shipshewana? Will Noah’s past always haunt him? He knows in his heart that he will never return to the ways that sent him to prison, but why can’t he move forward? Will fear of knowing someone might find out the truth steal his happiness? Is it his imagination or is Amos playing match making with his eldest daughter and himself? Vannetta Chapman wrote a story that will grab you from the first page and carry you through to the very last page enlightening the reader to the past of both main characters, how different their lives have been, and how through circumstances and God’s direction they blend into the perfect couple. Although part of a series, THE MYSTERIOUS AMISH BACHELOR can most definitely be read as a standalone book. However, I am positive that once you read Sarah and Noah’s story you will be searching out the stories of the other sister’s stories in this series. THE MYSTERIOUS AMISH BACHELOR is positively a FIVE STAR book that I highly recommend to every one! It’s a fabulous read for anyone that loves a clean Christian romance, loves the Amish genre, an inspirational romance or just a fabulous story. I guarantee you will love Vannetta Chapman’s books and this one is no exception.

This story was great! I loved the backstory on Noah, and his 'missing years.'
The story of Sarah, the oldest daughter of Amos Yoder, gets to touch on her feelings of her age, and being single.
Then when Noah Beiler shows back up to Shipshe, after being gone for 10 years, his life becomes the big talk of the 'Amish Grapevine'.
However, their community grapevine has been known to hurt Sarah in the past, then now in the present, it turns to Noah.
When all is said and done in this book. It's found out that only Reuben, Rachel, & Noah Beiler, then Amos Yoder, as well as Ezekiel the Bishop, knows the real truth of Noah's mysterious missing 10 years. Until later, as Sarah & Noah become good friends, does she start to learn, and understand more.
This story, just like the previous ones in this series, are full of love, faith, grace, mercy, friendship, forgiveness, understanding, and mercy.
Of course, we are lucky to get to hear more of Ada's funny sayings,lol. I love Ada, Sarah's sister.
Whenever I read these books, and her quips are said, I giggle out loud. I have to remember where I'm at when I'm reading her quips, because if I giggle out loud while in waiting room of my, many doctors, I tend to get funny looks. 😂
If you have read any of these books, or all of them up until this one, you won't be disappointed in it!!
Vannetta does her amazing job, like always, keeping you drawn in and turning the pages❤️.

The Mysterious Amish Bachelor by Vannetta Chapman is the fourth delightful story in the Indiana Amish Market series. I have enjoyed getting to know the quirky Yoder sisters and their father. Sarah is the oldest of the sisters. She helped raise her sisters and run the household after the death of her mother. Sarah loves her family, home, and community. She is pretty much an open book. Noah Beiler returns after ten years, and he is looking to keep his past where it belongs—behind him. It is easy to empathize with both characters. Sarah wants to learn more about Noah. Noah is afraid if Sarah learns about his past, she will not want anything to do with him. There are great characters in this series. Ada adds humor to the story with her unique expressions. I bet the author had fun coming up with ways to change common phrases. Faith is woven throughout the story (it is not preachy which I appreciate). I like Vannetta Chapman friendly writing style. The story is told from Sarah and Noah’s point of view, which allows readers to know what they are feeling and thinking. We get to see the importance of communication. Patience, prayer, community, family, secrets, and love are the focus in The Mysterious Amish Bachelor. I am looking forward to Eunice’s story. It will take a special man to appreciate the mechanically minded Eunice.

The Mysterious Amish Bachelor is the fourth book in Indiana Amish Market series by Vannetta Chapman. This book could be read as a standalone, but I highly recommend reading the books in order to see the uniqueness of each of the five Yoder sisters and their father.

This is Sarah’s story along with Noah’s, who had return to their community. She is intrigued when her dad invited him to supper about Noah’s absence and his past. Her questioning became irritating but yet there was a connection between them while doing renovations at the Amish Market. What will it take for Noah to realize secrets shared can bring healing and freedom instead of loneliness?

Chapman always pens a delightful and touching story with messages of hope, forgiveness, faith, unexpected romance and new beginnings despite the past one may of suffered.

Thank you Vannetta Chapman for sharing an ARC of this adorable story with me. I am like Noah, I was an only child. I could have gotten into some messes from loneliness but somehow managed to avoid them. I would have loved to have had sisters or even brothers. I love this Yoder family. Each and every one of them are unique. They have each had their own stories with the exception of Eunice but they are all there in each of the books for each other and for their father, the widowed, Amos. We meet new and wonderful characters with each book and get a good feeling for Shipshewana and the Amish communities there. Thank you Vannetta for this beautiful 5 star story that had me shedding a few tears and smiling too. I think your fans will appreciate this and love it as much as I did. If you are new to Vannetta Chapman, you will love this but I think you will get more from it if you start reading the Indiana Amish Market series in order.

Wonderful and Heartwarming

Secrets are very powerful. They have the ability to hold one back, push one forward, cause feelings of guilt, and so much more. And although anyone who harbors a secret has at least one reason for doing so, it often carries a heavy burden, which is sometimes made heavier by the reactions of others. Such is the case for Noah Beiler.

Author Vannetta Chapman has such a wonderful way of writing that draws one in right from the start. My heart was deeply touched by Noah's story. And while Sarah worked at finding out just what that story was, Noah, in turn, worked at finding out what Sarah's story was. Following their interactions was at times funny, but at times painful. But as new discoveries were made, forgiveness, second chances, new beginnings, faith, and love broke through. Chapman has written a wonderful and heartwarming story that deals with a topic that is rarely found in this genre, and she has done so flawlessly. It's a must-read, for sure.

I’ve enjoyed this entire series, although each book can be read as a stand alone. The Mysterious Amish Bachelor is a good book, showing the importance of being honest and trusting God. Characters Noah and Sarah are headed toward a romance but one is keeping an important secret from the other. Can they trust that God has changed the person?

While it’s a serious topic, the story has many light hearted moments that will make the reader chuckle. Tender and sweet, it’s a good story for those who enjoy Amish fiction.

I normally don't read romance books, but this one was decent. The setting of an Amish community made it more interesting than the other romance novels I've tried to start. I liked that Noah's secret was one that would normally be unheard of in an Amish community.

The book didn't have the "grittiness" of the novels I normally read, but deep down all humans have the same wants and needs. Love, home, security, family, good health, peace. There was some fun humor injected as well, such as Ada's inability to get correct modern turn-of-phrases.

The Mysterious Amish Bachelor is another heartwarming romance from one of my favorite authors, Vannetta Chapman. Altho part of a series, this story is easily read as a stand-alone. I enjoyed Sarah and Noah's story from beginning to end. It is a story of a fresh start in life, of family, and forgiveness. I liked how persistent Sarah is in trying to figure out Noah's past. I read a library copy of the book and was not required to write a review. The opinions are my own. Readers who enjoy contemporary Amish romance will want to read this book.

Book 4 did not disappoint. Amos is at it again with matchmaking his daughters. This time it is Sarah his oldest and Noah who just returned to area after being gone 10 years. Keeping a secret will never solve your problem and Noah has a big one.

This was a wonderful story of hope. Often there are times when our life choices take us down paths that could end in sadness. But God has a plan as we surrender our will to his will. I highly recommend this book.
