Review for the complete series

Sugar Soldier is a great series if you enjoy cute shoujo fluff. The characters are all likeable, the romance is sweet and largely drama-free with both leads treating each other sweetly. There are nice friendships and family relations that don't fall short either. The art is quite typical shoujo but very pretty, definitely one of Sakai's best art-wise.

Although this series does delve into some more serious themes - child abandonment, terminal illness, sibling rivalry and even an implied sexual assault - I found this to be an incredibly light series. It's great as it gives it a nice wholesome feeling without having to over complicate things. But it also means there's no true conflict to overcome which means the series bumbles along a little bit. This is by no means a bad thing as it'll be perfect if you truly just want a cute high school romance with friendships, but it won't pack the same punch as some more complex series. I definitely would recommend for fans of the genre though.

Es bleibt weiterhin süß! Bin ein Fan von Shun Kurze Erleichterung! Rika möchte nichts von Shun, es war rein beruflich! Aber ein neuer Charakter kam dazu. Issei, womöglich ein alter Kumpel von Shun. Ich mag ihn aufjedenfall nicht, wie kann er nur so gemein zu Makota sein, die arme. Hat schon mit Selbstzweifel zu kämpfen und bekommt immer wieder einen oben drauf. Man hat echt das Gefühl, es haben alle auf sie abgesehen, aber ich bin stolz auf sie, denn sie hat ihre Meinung gegenüber Issei geäußert. Mir kommt der Gedanke nicht los, dass Issei womöglich mehr für Shun empfindet als nur ein guter Kumpel ? Wobei Rika und Issei auf den ersten Blick auch gut zsm viben haha das könnte witzig werden ich bin gespannt wie es weiter geht. Vor allem hoffe ich mehr von Shun und seiner Vergangenheit zu erfahren, denn in diesem Teil wird einem bewusst, dass bestimmte Sätze die Makota von sich gibt, gewisse trigger und mögliche Erinnerungen in Shun auslösen. Es bleibt spannend!

One thing that I'm glad about this volume, Makoto finally embraced her feelings for Iriya. Finally! I was shipping the two of them so hard in this volume while rooting for Makoto too!

Solo voy a decir que la hermana de Makoto me ha engañado vilmente,haha!
En este volumen surge un nuevo personaje con una personalidad irritante y que trata mal a Makoto solo por estar enamorada de Irigiya.
Estuve esperando todo el tomo para saber cual era la relación de este personaje con el protagonista,pero en ningún momento se hablo del tema.Espero que se aclare en el próximo tomo.
En fin voy a seguir con el manga para ver que sucede,espero que aparezcan fuertes obstáculos para la protagonista ya que sin ellos la historia pierde sentido.
