Good stuff

Barclay at times can be confusing, but always gives reasons or explanations for what the scriptures indicate. We read this in entirety in our Bible study group. It made for GREAT discussions. I would encourage believers to read Barclay.

Barclay's scholarly interpretations and analyses of these epistles are always refreshing. Although I don't always agree with his conclusions, I certainly respect the scholarship that led to them!

I am a big fan of Barclay. I like the way he processes the Bible and makes illustrations that work and make sense. I find his gentle paragraphs and language easy to read and easy to follow. He does not include a bunch of outlines and word studies, he just breaks down the letter and makes it make sense. If you have the options to buy Barclay's material I would do so.

A book that is a blessing

For several years I have enjoyed this series of William Barclay as my devotional material. This one, no different from the others, is insightful and faithful to the biblical witness. I look forward to enjoying eventually all the books in this series.

A very good 4, just too much emphasis is placed on the exclusivity of the Christian Faith being Gods favorite chosen ones, you lose a star for that. We are all his children you only need to place your heart in his hands not any religious order. Does that make sense' I hope so.

Insightful, classic commentaries on these Biblical books. It awkwardly discusses books not in the Protestant Bible. However, knowledge is always good.

The study in James always has something to teach us about being double tongued. Almost anyone you meet will at one time or another share their own stories about despising themselves or others who say one thing and mean another.

In addition to that life lesson James also teaches us to that out life is but a vapor. Lean on that and see to it that you get in the right path my friend!

William Barclay is one of the sharpest minds to have written biblical material. no one knows the original languages and culture like he does. all his books are excellent resources for Bible teachers and those seeking to deepen their understanding of scripture.
