A cute set of stories. It's interesting to me that the .5 is part of the Alexanders, considering none of the characters are Alexanders... they're just friends with the Alexanders.
But anyhoo... I actually read Teasing Trent quite a while ago. It's on the shorter side, but a cute friends-to-lovers/in-love-with-my-best-friend's-sister story. Steamy, too.
One More Day is about Ridley and Jackson. Ridley is running from some weird goings on at home in Florida. She's decided to visit her twin sister in Virginia, but she didn't exactly tell Raina she was coming. She's exhausted when she arrives at Raina's and meets the neighbor's kids, who mistake her for Raina. When Ridley faints, the boys run to tell their father, Jackson. Once she's revived, she pretends to be Raina for a while (since it's convenient), and pretends she's been locked out of her home. It's a holiday weekend, and Jackson tries to call people, but he offers to let her stay at his house while they're waiting for someone to help. Which sets romantic things in motion. What kinda throws a wrench in things is that Nick, Jackson's brother, had a hot and heavy night with Raina that neither Jackson nor Ridley know about, and Nick thinks Raina is being super cold-hearted going after Jackson now. Beyond that... Ridley had been involved in something she knew nothing about in Florida, and it's followed her to Virginia. Everything works out sweetly in the end, so it's all good.
The Things I Do For You is Raina and Nick's story. Raina wants a baby really badly, but she has health issues that are making that difficult. Raina doesn't really believe in love, so she's chosen a rich guy to basically have a business arrangement disguised as a marriage with. But when her fiance is photographed making out with his ex-wife just before Raina's announcement of a reality TV show, Nick steps in to pretend to be her fiance to help Raina save face in front of the media. And once Nick understands Raina really wants a baby, he's totally on board. But he wants the full monty -- they have to get married. And not just because he wants another shot with Raina, he feels like he's loved her since their one and only night together. For Raina's part, Nick makes her feel things she's uncomfortable with. Like I said, she doesn't believe in love, but she can't resist Nick when he's being constantly sweet and attentive to her. Sadly, Raina's ex and Nick have a bit of a rivalry between them, so the ex causes issues. If I'm being completely honest, I'm not sure why the issues were such a big deal... it seems the bigger one to me was the smaller one to her. Still, absence makes the heart grow fonder, they say, and once she had time to think, all was good.
All three of the stories felt like they ended abruptly. Everything was resolved, but it almost felt like everything was resolved and then, bam, the end. I'm not sure what I really expected... maybe a few paragraphs to wrap up the story? Something? I dunno, it just felt really abrupt. Still, entertaining stories.
