Colored Lies

Rate this book
I'm Jordan Ann Bland, Jo to my friends.

I hate lies.

I know from personal experience they ruin lives. To me, every lie has a color. The only lies I usually tell are pink ones; they don't hurt anyone, but they make my life more exciting, much less—well, bland, and I don't even have to leave the comfort of my home.
Then one night, I go against everything I believe and tell a gray lie, the kind that can hurt others, and it happens in front of one of the sexiest men I've ever seen. Now, I must keep telling these lies, so he doesn't catch onto my secret. These gray lies are now turning into one of the worst-colored lies—black. This is why I hate all lies other than the pink ones.
To make things worse, this gorgeous man is dragging me around to do every pink lie I ever told; I have a feeling he knows I'm a liar.

I hate liars, even though I am one.

I'm Roman Joseph Arndt-Blackwell, RJ to my friends.

I hate all liars.

Chalk it up to a bad past relationship. I don't want to be around liars, or get stuck in another relationship with one. But when the petite blonde in the bar makes a comment I know to be one whopper of a lie, I feel I need to do something about it, even though I must lie to her in turn—trust me, I know how hypocritical it is. Still, something about Jo draws me in, as much as it pushes me away.
My scheme to out her as a liar, opens my eyes to fun and, quite possibly, love. I do know one thing I refuse to do is fall for another liar, no matter how attracted I am to her.

I hate liars, even though I am one.

Jo hates lies she knows that they can hurt people . She labels each type of lie with a color The pink lies don't hurt anyone so those are the ones she tries to tell . Until the night she tells a grey lie , which could hurt someone, not only she tells the lie but she tells it in front of the most handsome man she has met . Roman, he hates all liars male and female, after a bad relationship he hates them all . Until the night he runs into Jo at the bar and after hearing her tell the whopper of a lie and now he wants to catch her in the lie and call her out. Even if he has to lie to her to get her to open up. Will they be able to figure out what is going on and finally figure out that they are meant to be together.
Roman and Jo as such fun characters , they are two sides of the same coin but they just don't know it . Jo hates liars and tries not to lie but when does she tell one its a whopper . She is a sweet woman who has labeled lies colors . When she meets Roman. who is one hot man and also kind of full of himself. He tries his worst to see if he can get her caught in her own lies . But as they hang out they find out there is more to them then meets the eye. Like falling in love and finally having the relationship worth having. This book does have an ensemble cast of characters that come and go through out the book and keep Jo and Roman on the right path sort of way. Each character is well written and they are complex . You will like them and fall in love with them by the end of the book.
This is one those books that once you start you will be sucked in trying to figure out what their true hearts have . It is a love story that is mixed with a kind of revenge story between the two main characters. I love that the main female character has named colors to the lies she hears and when the main guy tries to figure her out well there is romance. Lots of romance . I do like this story and the authors way of writing so if you want a good story with lots of fun characters check it out . A great beach book for this summer .

I knew this book would be an emotional rollercoaster ride and I would not be able to put it down. What I didn't know was that it is full of angst and anger, secrets, lies, friends, good and evil and character so well written you want to kiss the author for the story she tells. The storyline is succinct and intensely enticing. The character development will fill your soul full of quirky people you want to hug. The main characters Rj (Roman) and Jo (Jordan) have lies between them that starts them on a road to destruction in one way or another. They are beautiful together and must try to get over past hurts. The secondary characters are what really brings life to the story. This author really understands her characters and their motivation and doesn't let the story get bogged down. There are many good and bad things that bring the story to an end but you will have to read it for yourself. The author never let's her readers down and you have to read this book. All of her works are exceptional.

Great new series

At least I'm hoping it is a series with great characters that make me want to know more. This is jo and rjs story and it was awesome. There were twists and people you want to through punch 👊. Jo is a liar and RJ is going to prove it come hell or high water. Jo doesn't understand two guys number in one night is not her. Jordan her best friend is in and out of a very toxic relationship. There's a mega witch at work. Life has always been hard for Jo her parents are in jail and she hopes they stay there. Rj helps her to see that adventure is fun and not bland. Cam is put in the friend zone because there's no spark. A must read and can't wait for the next instalment

Colored Lies

What a crazy rollercoaster ride! There were a lot of ups and downs in this story but mainly the devastating effects of lies.

I really enjoyed the concept with the lies and how the characters got wrapped up in things yet nothing was as it seemed.

I loved Jo and her best bud Jordan. They were a fun pair to read.
The relationship between Jo and Roman was riddled with bumps but still managed to capture my heart in the end even if it took me a bit to warm up to Roman.

I do love Cam and hope he gets a story as well as Jordan! They were fantastic side characters!

Some tropes found here were: enemies to lovers, hate to love, secrets, found family, plenty of spice, manipulation, protective MMCs and so much more!

I really enjoyed this book. The first night almost stayed up all night because I fell in love with Jo. She is the main female character and the one who describes lies in colors. I had heard of white lies prior to this book but never any more. I love how she has a color system for different types of lies. The book had an effect on all my emotions and for me that is almost a bonus when it hit’s multiple emotions. You also have some action, romance, and mystery.

Pink Lies
Jojo lives a pretty dull life, but pretends do do thing she dreams of. She works with Cruella(Tia) total witch. Tia plays a big part in bringing harm to Jojo, but it does not get her what she wants. Jordan and Cam are her great friends, helping her out of her shell. Roman finally see the light. There are dark moments and torture, but it ends on a HEA. I Loved It!!! Fantastic story, characters and writing!!!

Well Jo's character was so well written that I can see why everyone just loves her. V.J. Lee consistently writes great stories with strong female leads. Once again I am hooked on the love story of two fictional characters. I need more of their story or at the bare minimum a look into Cam's new career.
To summarize the book in one sentence, I'd have to say, most people hate liars but sometimes lying may be necessary and it doesn't make you a bad person.

loved it!

V.J. Lee paints an amazing story with colored lies. Jo tells a little lie that harms no one but when Roman hears the lie his past makes an ugly part of him come out. Determined to punish Jo only to fall in love with her, he has to face some truths about himself. Which lie is worse his or her’s? When the truth comes out it might be too late.

OMG!! What a book!

Once again V.J.LEE has written a book that draws you in and won't let go! Even after I finished this book it is still lingering in my mind I feel like Pinky, Roman, Cam and Jordan are my friends now. I hope V.J. writes Car's story next. He needs a HEA too. This definitely a must read book.

No more lies

The thing about lies, if you tell one it has a snowball effect. Jojo hasn’t always had a good life, but she made a great life (or so she thought) until she met RJ. I love the dynamics between these two. I laughed, cried and rooted for this duo. This book kept me in the edge of my seat at times! I highly recommend this book

To Jo, every lie has a color. The darker the color, the more vicious it is. She tells pink ones but still hates all lies. She accidentally tells a gray lie in front of Roman. Roman hates liars. Hearing her lie, he decides to get her back but also lies. Pot meet kettle.

I found this book to be an excellent read! Loved this new way to label lies under colors, might start doing that now, lol. Jo was an excellent character, my favorite in the book and seeing her and Roman fall in love felt right and made me happy. Hope to read more on this world and characters.

Another sleepless night! What an amazing story! What Jo went through as a child and the way her parents treat her is just heartbreaking. The dynamic between Jo and RJ is just plain hot. All the characters are intriguing, I especially love Jordan. If you haven't read this, now is the time!

Did you know that there are different colored lies? Jo Bland believes there are and can tell you what they mean. But those little lies can end up being big ones over time and what happens when you get caught about them. Roman (RJ) Blakewell hates lies and after meeting Jo plus hearing her little lies. He plans on catching in her lies and ruin her life especially since they are about him and his family. But things aren't always as they seems and he finds this out over time of being around her. But Jo has people after her and doesn't realize who they really are plus the danger she is in. The longer that RJ is around Jo they more he is attracted to her. This is an amazing book, it has everything from lies, danger, love, villains and heroes. You never know what is going to happen next so there is a surprises through out the book. I wish I could it a 10 star, it deserves it. IT'S A MUST READ BOOK
