This short short starts out amazing. All about an aging porn star who now has an agent that books her gigs (not for movies), but for individual customers who want one-on-one time with the star. She's not a prostitute, got it? She only has sex with people who pay thousands for her private time. Not like she's standing on a street corner. She's a classy chic.
I fully expected her to show up on one of these private gigs, and things to turn south. I was wrong.
She does end up in a cabin in the woods, the basement coated in blood, a dead friend, etc....
It started so great.
The ending was kinda meh, maybe too comical. I'm not sure. I'm still glad I read it

Spencer is an interesting author. He's good, clever, funny, original, but his stories, although reflective of all those qualities, tend to veer off into gory bizarre territory. It can be too much. Gasm (puns aside) was brief and awesome, it's awesomeness probably exactly due to its briefness. It's two stories really, a longer titular one and a short one and they are both demented wacky fun. Very entertaining way to spend 40 minutes or so. And if you're new to the author, this would make a great introduction. Recommended.

Well, a first hand story of a woman workin in porn business who met up with a maniac that loaded her with his evil seed. The rural scene reminded me a bit on Wrong Turn and some degenerated hicks. It had some interesting moments but the free bonus story "A real close shave" with the obsessed barber was far better, quite excellent indeed, a real page turner. I constantly had to think about Sweeney Todd from Fleet Street who would have laughed his demonic laugh on this story! Tell me something juicy... oh yeah!
