I threw my hands up in the air at the end of the book! The book did not end how I expected it to end! I love how there was more action in this book then the last, and you saw the wolves more, but I just felt so frustrated at the end. Nothing has been solved in terms of how werewolves view half breeds.

In this book, Jace has become leader of his pack. Something that Tessa and he did not discuss. Jace's character backtracked a little, willing to let the two female wolves in his life (Tessa and Shelby) fight over who will be with him. Granted, real wolves fight over mating rights, but there's still that human element to werewolves. Isn't love supposed to trump duty? I felt angry at Jace for this, and angry for Tessa.

There's also a development in Tessa's family. She has learned that her father is not her biological father. That being said, she doesn’t want to have anything to do with him. I have thought that would have been interesting if she did go find him, but she decided to let him slip away.

The plot for this book is a lot different from the last. While the last book was about Tessa first meeting Jace, getting to know him and learning that she is turning into a werewolf because of him. This book takes off from there. As the full moon comes closer, the time to turn into a wolf gets closer as well. She has to prepare for this moment and spends a lot of her time with Jace. She asks him any questions she could, but learns that he’s (OF COURSE!) holding secrets from her. One of these secrets is Shelby, a werewolf who wants Jace to be hers. Tessa soon learns that to be able to have Jace for herself and have the approval of the whole pack, that she needs to fight Shelby in wolf form and win. This story also explains about Tessa’s mothers past, her biological father and why he left her mother, and about Tessa's birth.

This book takes place again in Breakwater, but in part two it changes to taking place in Ohio, were Jace lives. Once again, the book mostly takes place at either Jace's or Tessa's house, and later on, Jace's parents house.
Tessa did very well as she learned to be a werewolf. The big downside to the transformation was that it caused her to pull away from her friend Rachel and her family. She turned to Jace more and more for help, and I loved how he took care of her in this way. When faced with the pack's disapproval at her being Jace's partner, she remained a strong character. She stood her ground and was willing to fight for her man.
Jace flip-flopped as a character. He had his sweet moments, but at times I just couldn't stand him. The fact that he was willing to drop Tessa for Shelby if Shelby won just annoyed me. He does have his good moments though. He stayed by her side during her first change and helped her. You can see how much he loves her no matter what form she takes. He even agrees with her when she wanted to tell her parents and friend the truth about them. He didn’t like it at first he did end up doing what she wanted to make her feel better about her leaving all of them.

Though Rachel was being pushed away by Tessa in this book, she still tried her best to be there for her friend. She always called to ask to hang out with Tessa and was always there when Tessa called. For that I find that Rachel is a good true friend. As you can gather, I didn't like Shelby, and found her to be an unpleasant character in this boo. Tessa's mother comes out into her own a little bit more, telling Tessa the truth about everything. Tessa knew most of it already, but I do like learning about a back story.

Overall
I did like this book, but not as much as the first volume. I do still recommend that everyone read this book to learn the ending between Jace and Tessa.

Changed (Marked Duology #2) by Jennifer Snyder Jennifer Snyder’s Changed is an excellent conclusion to the Marked Duology.  Changed takes place after the first book Marked.  Tessa Morganton is dealing with becoming a werewolf and all in entails.  Jace Fowler is about to become the new alpha to his pack.  Despite Jace choosing Tessa, Shelby Killin has not given up on snagging Jace as her mate.  This YA PNR shapeshifter novel takes place in North Carolina and Ohio.

My heart went out to Tessa.  She had to deal with a lot emotionally.  On top of that, she had to undergo physical changes.  She doesn’t feel like she fits in anywhere.  Tessa and her mom are butting heads, and we find out Tessa’s mom’s secret in this story.

I was hoping that Tessa’s biological father would somehow tie-in with this story.  I wouldn’t mind seeing a spin-off with him that involved Tessa. I am interested in Shelby’s novelette, Scorned.  That girl is evil, I can’t imagine what goes on in her head.

There was a good conclusion to the conflicts in Changed.  The story was well-written, and the characters are well-developed.  Changed is a fast read that was exciting and enjoyable.

This is the second book in the Marked Duology Series by Jennifer Snyder. My favorite type of paranormal books are werewolves so I was ecstatic to read this book! I had read book 1 in the series a couple of months ago and had the opportunity to read this book. This book picks up right where the last one left off with Tessa getting used to her new form.
Tessa is surprisingly not too mad at Jace for biting her and changing her life forever. However, I guess he is also the only one she can turn to which would make her not be as upset. We also know Tessa learned that her father is not her biological father and her life has been a lie from the start. This book goes through Tessa learning about her real father, fighting herself while changing, but also taking on her largest challenge yet.... Shelby. Tessa eventually finds out she needs to fight Shelby to be able to become Jace's mate since she was his betrothed.
Jace takes everything with stride. He is nervous about Tessa having to fight Shelby but he is also totally in love with Tessa. He is so sweet with how much he is there for Tessa even though she should really be hating him.
This was such a great story! I look forward to reading the last book in the series to see what destruction Shelby is going to try and conjure up.

Good read

I really enjoyed this book and these characters. I’m happy with how the story went and how it ended but Shelby needs to grow up and realize that the world doesn’t revolve around her.

The first book starts with Tessa who works in a local diner, is in high school and is a normal girl, with a normal family-or so she thought. One day, while working in her diner, and her boyfriend being quite rude, a stranger walks in, and he is GORGEOUS! He’s sweet, and beautiful, and her boyfriend totally loses it just by her waiting on him. I will tell you right off, I was NOT a fan of her BF, but I WAS a fan of Jace. And I do really like her best friend, Rachel. So, that how she sees him. Then, Rachel and Tessa see him again at a store, and he wiggles a date out of her-this was actually funny. She feels terrible that she is attracted to Jace while dating someone else, but she can’t seem to help it.

Now, I like these characters. They are fun, and interesting, and Tessa doesn’t really figure out what Jace is til the almost end of the first book, which of course he is a werewolf. And wouldn’t you know that Tessa meets his EX who is a total piece of work, but beautiful, so Tessa doubts herself. I will tell you this doubt is believable because I don’t know a single teenager that isn’t unsure of herself. And as some strange things happen, Tessa becomes completely wrapped up in some crazy things.

By the second book, I was in shock of what was being asked of Tessa to keep Jace. I’m not sure if I would be able to do what she did. Most of her choices become drastic and crazy to me, but then again, I’m not in a supernatural world where I would have these choices to make in the first place. The second book is where you get to meet the “pack” and some of them I love, and some of them I want to strangle. I also completely feel sorry for Tessa’s family. At first, I was furious with her mother, but after some of those secrets come out, I completely understood why she made the choices she did.

I read both books in the matter of a few hours together, and I loved them. Werewolf life is complicated, which it always is, but sometimes, they are forced to make decisions I don’t think anyone should have to make. I hope I don’t anyways. This two book series was fun for me, and had me wishing that there were more than just two books. I want more. I am hoping that maybe one day there will be an addition to them

This series is well written, face paced, fun, sometimes funny, sometimes sad, and has some great teenage life lessons- like NEVER put up with a boyfriend who treats Tessa like her’s did. No person should have to be talked to like that. And I’m so glad she learned her lesson this time.

I’m so glad I opted to participate in this blog tour, as I almost didn’t. And then I wouldn’t have gotten to read these wonderful books! Thanks so much for that!! 4.5 PAWS!!

I said it before and I will say it again- I am really liking the idea and length of Duologies. I still love a good, long series but when there are just two books it sometimes make me feel like I am just reading one super long book. And I do love myself a super long book. I do think that I prefer to have both books available before I start reading the first one, bcause it is always better to read books back to back.
I enjoyed Changed a little more than I liked Marked. This story picks up where Markd left off- a few weeks before the full moon. I was really interested to see what was going to happen and to see what these secrets that Jace had up his sleeve where. I mean, didn't he already have enough secrets?
Tessa is understandably nervous, but I think she does a pretty good job of handling stuff. I was kind of bummed that her super tight friendship with her friend Rachel suffered in this book. I hate it when friends drift apart. I liked Jace a lot more in this book. Because his "act" was all behind him, he got to be much more himself and I found myself forgiving him just like Tessa did. I thought what happened during the first moon was pretty darn funny. That was a twist that I was not expecting to see and one that I really enjoyed.
I couldn't believe when I found out what Jace's big secret was. I was back to being mad at him! It just made him seem even more selfish and he didn't even seem concerned! I thought that was the craziest thing of all. No one seemed overly concerned. If it were me or someone in my life, I would be flipping out by what Tessa had to subject herself to!
Overall, everything works out and everyone gets their HEA. I liked it. I thought it was a cute story, but the ending did seem a little rushed. I think that this duology is perfect for people that like quick reads. If you want to be able to take a day or a few days and get to know some new character and see their story through from start to finish, then Marked and Changed are the books for you.

Wow..i was waiting to read this one for sometime and here i get it now.

Tessa is coping up being a werewolf and is ready for her first full moon with Jace..not that its easy with bloody hearing, sight, smell and anger and hiding it with Rachel. But Jace is always with her and tries to hold her and support her through out it.

It was really so sweet of him as its his responsibility as he bit her in first place...i understand the love..but I have this weird love/hate relationship with Jace..i know he loves Tessa but i don't get why he keeps secrets from her until last moment - especially about the fight..geez can't he say at first..its not like Tessa is born fighter or wolf...she has right to know and learn to fight.. and why does Tessa so easily forgive him..love right?*Sighs*..Now what can i say to that! The whole book was focused on them so i was very happy!

I liked that Tessa and her mom has finally opened up i always thought her mom was really bad for hiding..but i understood that she wanted to forget what happened with her..but she should have supported her from start.

I hate Shelby..shes a bitch and i am so happy she lost.. but there was a time where i pitied her more than hate..i mean being betrothed, then rejected....but love takes over everything..so it was simply meaningless for Shelby to even try..Jace and Tessa are MFEO..and i hate Jace's mom.. she didn't even try to accept Tessa..or give her a change.

I sure felt the ordeal was a bit hurried ..i mean it was the main event right?there should have been more fighting..or at least preparation for it should have been shown..but we were jumped to fight directly..But i was so happy for Jace and Tessa ..at last they got to be together..and the epilogue though strange was a nice end!

Even thought its a duo-logy i really would have loved a 3rd book to it ..knowing how will Jace and Tessa be doing as Alphas in pack and their life, love, problems they have to deal together in future.

Alas ..it was good overall..i really liked it.Of course i am biased to werewolves *grins*.

This book takes starts where "Marked" left off, I have to say I liked this one better then the first book. I mean Jace has a hard task teaching Tessa the ropes, but I didn't mind being along for the journey didn't mind one bit (winks) "Jace let his pants fall around his ankles, revealing his green plaid boxers. A jolt of shock zapped through me at the sight of him almost completely naked, and I tore my eyes away quickly." I mean I really didn't mind, "if you leave those on you'll have to throw them in the trash later," he insisted, pointing to my bra and underwear before slipping out of his boxers and tossing them to the side." The reason why I loved this book is we see the relationship between Tessa and Jace grow and not to mention the yummyiness of all that's Jace, "the moon owns me; why not mark my skin to show it?" he said, slipping his shirt over his head, "you gonna get out of bed and come get something to eat?" What I didn't like was the fact that he stuck up for his ex, sweet Jesus man don't you know that is a damn no-no, "I'm not sure." He sighed and placed his hands on my hips. "she said she needed to get away for a little while. There's a lot you don't understand; you don't know what it's like back home for her right now. Please don't be angry." We see Jace more horny this time around and I liked it, "Jace cocked his head to the side, his eyes growing lustful. "Have I told you yet how beautiful you look in that little thing you call a bathing suit?"

I loved loved loved this book! This book won me over and I was sad it was the last book in the series. The author did such a great job and could have made the story so go on for at least another book or two.

The romance in this story was sweet and progressed at a natural pace even though it was intense. True love is funny that way. Even the likes of a scorned ex-girlfriend couldn't break it up.

The author made you feel like you were right there with the main character going through the change. She connected readers with the story and did a good job drawing you in.

The plot to this story was simple yet well executed. You know what is happening but are satisfied going through the motions. I can't say anything bad about this series, because I didn't find much I didn't enjoy about it.

Check out Marked(Marked Duology #1) as well as Jennifer Snyder's other edgy YA works. You won't be sorry:)

I've reached the conclusion to the Marked Duology and overall I'm happy with how things happened. I'm not sure if it was the time lapse between reading Marked and Changed or what, but for some reason, Jace was not so appealing in this one for me. I almost hoped Tessa would lose in the Ordeal. Almost.

(and I'm not saying she didn't, no spoilers here, I'm just saying I almost hoped for it throughout the book).

Anyway, I'm not sure what it was, but I just wasn't a fan of Jace. I also wish Rachel had been more involved. I understand why she wasn't, but I felt that Tessa needed her bestie and watching Rachel drift wasn't fun for me. Maybe because I've been there, I don't know.

All in all, I liked the direction the story took and especially the epilogue.

I recieved this book a few days ago and began reading with a bit of uncertainty, as I have never actually read this genre of book before! I just didn't know what to expect. However, my fears were set to rest as I became wholly absorbed into the story. Jennifer Snyder's writing style is strong, her characters likeable, and the plot fast-paced. I could really see this book turned into a mini-series or movie, the way it was written. Clearly marketed towards YA readers, it might have been a tad young for my taste, but I could still appreciate the book as a literary work and enjoyed the read!

I have received this book for free through Goodreads First Reads.

4.5 stars. I was pleasantly surprised by these books and really enjoyed them. I devoured them in just a few short days, and I was definitely sad to say goodbye to that world. (It's a duology, so sadly no more Tessa and Jace for me.)

It's definitely YA and a little "schooly," but Tessa was a great main character. I enjoyed the second book a bit more than the first, since it took a while for the paranormal stuff to kick in. It really took off after that point. Definitely a fun read for me. Now I wish it wasn't a duology, so I could have more time with Tessa and Jace. I'll definitely check out Ms. Snyder's other books.

I thought Changed was a great conclusion to the Marked duology. It had the sweet romance the first book did. It also had the characters facing problems both mental and physical. I would recomend this book if you like romance, adventure and a unique story. For more reviews visit http://sydneysbookreviewsatyourfinger...

I was really quite surprised again, sometimes follow up books don't have the follow through that the first does. I like that it didn't trail on for multiple books. The duo flowed seamlessly together.

I hate leaving Tessa’s world when there were still things that the author could fix in the story such as let Tessa meet her father, improve the relationship with her in law as well as finishing her study. That being said, with only one more short story left, I hope it at least fixes some of the issues, if not, all the best, Tessa 😊.

What I liked about this story was that Tessa showed her animal side to her best friend and her parents, which was awesome! I also admired her bravery in meeting her future in law as well as her opponent, and when she finally did it, it was unbelievable, especially without any practice 😂.

One thing that bothered me was Tessa never thought back about her dreams and linked it to her life. It sounded like premonitions, but she never even mentioned it out loud. In reality, I would have immediately thought about it and make a connection 🙃.

I wish this was longer

I loved the book! It was a good conclusion to the two books. Shelby got what was coming to her and that was nice. I just wish this series was longer. I was hoping to see some kind of conflict come up with her dad Kale since we got the whole story and even a name but maybe in another book? Hopefully..

Better than the 1st part

The second book in this duology redeems the first slightly.... but still I can't see why the high ratings... I feel a 3.5 star rating is sufficient.

Changed is the follow up to Marked and is full of new troubles, new discoveries, and lots of character growth for Tessa.

In this book, Tessa finally stands up to Shelby and gets a little feisty, while also gaining confidence (not much until the end, mind you) and strength. She had to fight in wolf form with Shelby to determine whether or not she could be with Jace, and while it was all a little dramatic (ex faces off with current and ex taunts the other until they lose, something they never saw coming), Tessa had to do one of the toughest things she's ever had to. And despite bit being Shelby's biggest fan, she's concerned for her and being so compassionate to someone who made her so miserable... That's strength and heart right there.

And as always, this is fast paced book full of great details and a fantastic flow. I loved the relationships and how they developed. I was so scared Tessa would lose Rachel because there were so many scenes that made my heart ache since Tessa and Rachel began to experience sealed silences together and Tessa was jealous because she felt she was being replaced. But in the end, when Tessa realizes her selfishness and luck, Rachel is right there and it's obvious they won't lose each other. I was also afraid Tessa would want to hunt down her dad and demand answers or at least a confession, but that never happened because she realized how loved she is and how good she has it. I just adore the family scene at the end because of that.

I still had problems with it, however. Nothing was solved about how they view Halfbreeds, and since Jace took over the pack Tessa has to rule with him. They never talked about how she's supposed help him rule the pack, what she needs to do or say or how to act. She knew next to nothing about werewolves and how they work, so I just don't see how she could help rule them. I also wasn't a fan of how Jace would be with whoever won, even if that wasn't Tessa. I didn't find it fair either since Shelby grew into that life and Tessa only just found out about it and and no training or experience in fighting.

Jace also annoyed me at times. He had some good moments where his love for her really shown, but others I was slightly unsure of it. Such as when Shelby was there and he didn't tell Tessa, or when he had lunch alone with Shelby and let her touch him despite that he knew how Tessa would feel, or when the girls traded insults and he just smirked the whole time. That bothered me because I felt like he was enjoying it and didn't really mind that Tessa was feeling insecure and having thoughts of him leaving her for Shelby. He also told her hardly anyone about the pack or the rules and so she was pretty unprepared for everything grown her way once she left with Jace.

Despite that though, it's obvious how much he loves her in the end, though.

Overall, while this duology isn't my favourite of the author's works and has some cliches, I still really liked it and enjoyed reading it. I would recommend it to lovers of romance and werewolves.

Tessa is about to go through her first change and it won’t be long before she’ll have to fight to take her place at Jace’s side. Jace may have all the confidence in the world in her ability to do so, but whether or not she’ll survive will be up to her.

I’ve got mixed feeling about the conclusion of this story, as while the couple are cute in a naïve kind of way, and the story is kind of wrapped up, it just doesn’t feel finished. It’s Jace though that I have the most issue with, if I’m being truthful, as he’s innately selfish and seems to get away with being selfish and secretive by buying Tessa flowers. Honestly, I think by the end of this book, he just plain annoys me. Yes, he cares about Tessa and is sweet to her in some ways but he doesn’t do anything to prepare her for the life she’s about to enter into. It doesn’t help that I can’t help thinking that if he really loved Tessa, he’d never have endangered her life by biting her and setting on a path where she needed to fight to be his Alpha Queen. But then maybe I’m just sour since he seems to get away all that simply because he ‘love her’. There’s just something about their relationship that doesn’t feel real to me. All the relationships actually. People seem to over-react for no reason and then under-react when they really shouldn’t. Once again, we also have the inclusion of shopping scene that seems totally pointless. The girls all buy nice lingerie and then it’s never mentioned again or reacted to when they go away with their guys. I don’t understand why Snyder writes about things that don’t enhance the story.

One thing I do find quirky, having read three of her novels, is that no matter where the character is standing when they ask to use the bathroom, it’s always the first door on the left. I don’t know why that amuses me, (or why I mentioned it), it just does.

Despite being a duology, there is a short story that follows these novels. Personally, I won’t be buying Scorned unless the price drops, as I refuse to pay more for the short story, than I paid for each individual novel.
