I love me a good music romance and Signature of You did not disappoint. After puttin' those paws on the president of his label, possible criminal charges has Sol and his brother living off the grid in Coleman, SC. Former songwriter Cadence Monroe is back in Coleman as well trying to rebuild her life after a traumatic event four years earlier. Her troubled past with the music industry should automatically make Sol public enemy number one but, Cadence can’t shake her attraction to this man. Even after she finds out who he is, his legal troubles and bad boy behavior don't deter her curiosity. Cadence still wants to know who Jassir Barrett is off stage. Worlds collide when the two are spotted together by the paparazzi forcing Sol and Cadence to flee back to Crescent Falls. Now that the secret of Gracie’s existence has been revealed, Sol will do whatever it takes to protect the two loves of his life. I loved this story because, there wasn’t a lot of angst between the two main characters and y’all know that’s my jam. Now, my girl Cadence did play hard to get but Sol’s persistence was top notch. He was intentional with his actions and refused to accept Cadence and Gracie not being in his life as an option. Signature of You was a captivating story from start to finish. It was sexy, heartfelt, emotional, and loving. I absolutely loved all of the characters but, Gracie was definitely my fave. I think we can all agree she stole the whole book. Jump on this love journey and take a ride with Cadence and Sol as they confront their past and make beautiful music together.

“He stole my breath and then replenished it with his own.”

🎶 I don’t care if we’re on the run, baby long as I’m next to youuuuuuu. And if loving you is a crime…..🎶 Both “on the run” for very different reasons, Jassir and Cadence found themselves in the same small country town looking to regroup from life’s problems. Neither had a single clue that they’d…. 🎶 run to the arms of the one who loves you, you just run to these arms and these two arms will keep you warm 🎶 and man did Jassir’s arms keep Cadence warm, loved and protected!

Cadence had one single priority and that was to keep her little caterpillar safe and out of harms way! Unfortunately allowing Jassir into her orbit caused a world wind of events to fire off and force both Jassir and Cadence out of hiding in order to face the music and finally live in peace once and for all!

Gracie stole the entire book with her cute, inquisitive self🥰🥰! I loved Val and how she rode hard for her bestie and Liq’s tortured self also added a nice element to the story! Sometimes you need a feel good, minimal drama filled story and that’s what this was! There was just enough to keep me engaged and I loved how protective Jaah was! Idk what it is but when authors write about their MMC falling first it adds an intensity to the story that I really enjoy! If it’s not already on your list, gone head and add it!

Signature of You captivated my attention from the beginning. I am a music fanatic, and I enjoy the presence of music in books. Sol is an R&B star who had to live off the grid due to an unfortunate event involving his brother. He'd do anything for his family. Cadence is a single mother who lived a simple life; she had a troubled past in the music industry. Neither was on the market for a relationship, but in their first encounter, there was an overwhelming attraction. There were themes of trust and protecting your peace, and I feel both characteristics were important. KC Mills did a fabulous job fleshing out the storyline; the scenes were descriptive and entertaining. I could vividly see the scenes happening. The characters, Sol and Cadence, had more in common than they could have imagined. They were both guarded, protected their family, and had tarnished reputations in the music industry. The best thing about this book was the chemistry between the characters and how they found solace within each other. I was silently cheering for them to fall in love. Sol's character stole my heart due to his protective nature and how he naturally went into 'Daddy mode' for Gracie. I quickly devoured this story. The witty banter, drama surrounding the music industry, and the way Sol had me squealing stamped this story as a hood-read. Ps, everyone needs a friend like Val!

I had an arc copy from the author, all thoughts are my own.

Cadence to my Soul 😩🥰 Swoon!! 4.5⭐!

I haven’t read a music romance in a while and what a treat this book was! Sol (Jassir) was hiding out in Coleman with his brother Kaliq to avoid his pending legal troubles with his label. Cadence was just trying to live her best life and provide the best for her daughter after moving back to Coleman from New York. Heartbreak and her career being destroyed before giving birth to her daughter Gracie is the reason why she left New York, and when she first lays eyes on Sol she knows he has something that reminds her of her past but she wants him. Their story was beautiful and my girl was playing hard to get but she had a lot on the line tbh. Sol want Cadence and her daughter in his life and after a while, he didn’t care what it took to make that happen. When Sol has to choose between saving his career, his brother's freedom, and the safety of Cadence and Gracie he said I’m conquering it all! What a man! He was driving his manager Drew insane but it was worth it! There were so many sweet moments between Cadence and Sol and Gracie! Sol using Cadence as inspiration for his music 😩🔥. When they first made love! I loved this couple and I loved the music elements that were there and honestly would have loved to see more of the music from Cadence but the epilogue was a nice touch! I never know what to expect from KC Mills and this was a pleasant surprise I look forward to what is next!

Cadence and Sol are both dealing with issues from their past. Cadence is dealing with a traumatic event which landed her back in her hometown. Sol is dealing with the aftermath of losing his mother suddenly and having to keep his brother straight while he’s also fighting his win battles. Sol and Cadence meet at her job and instant attraction. They way Sol made sure to protect Cadence and Gracie was beautiful. I’m glad Dresden and Sheets got handled accordingly; Sol was playing chess getting his revenge.

While this was a good story, I had a hard time staying engaged for some reason. I found myself zoning out and losing focus at times. The H&h lacked a bit of chemistry, in my opinion. Still, it wasn’t a terrible read.
I'm still not a fan of the narrators, especially the male narrator.

Cadence to my Sol😍

Loved the story. 💗 Gracie stole the Show. That little girl was everything. I love sol and cadence together. Their chemistry was 🔥💣💦. He did not play about his girls. He swooped In and saved the day🙌. I definitely didn't see the paternity plot twist coming. Dresden was trash 🗑, but Sol got him all the way right in that bathroom😂 This was ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I really enjoyed getting to know Cadence, Sol, and Gracie. This is a story about two worlds that are an unlikely pairing but can't help the magnetic pull. Sol was definitely swoon worthy. He was a man who protected those he deemed family. He definitely made it easy for you to fall for him. Get into this read!

Cadence and Sol. A story about being intentional with your love. No points to prove. Sol needed to make sure Cadence felt safe. Providing a safe space from a past that was creeping up and ready to destroy her future. Who knew that hiding out would find them drawn to each other. And in the same world they needed a break from.

Whew… this must be the week that love is in the air. Somebody come save me because I am a full-on Denzel in distress. First Kellon Barnes, then Sol 🙌🏾

This story is the purest example of “if he wants to, he will.” The kind of peace this relationship delivers is exactly what a healthy partnership should look like.

Candace showed up as her natural self. Warm. Inviting. Grounded. Her spirit gave Sol the space to exhale, something he hadn’t felt in a very long time. Especially for a man who had lost so much, carried the weight of the world, and spent his life being everything for everyone else. When you’re used to people constantly taking from you, peace feels like luxury.

And Sol? He became her and her daughters’ protector in the truest sense. Her biggest supporter. Making sure they were covered and safe even when he wasn’t physically present. That level of security allowed Candace to open her heart again and love him freely. Which is exactly what Sol needed to continue becoming the man he was already designed to be.

Now… let’s talk about what irritated me. Outsiders manipulating a sibling bond. So much of Sol’s pain could have been avoided with honesty from the very beginning. But I also understand the guilt, the shame, and how drugs and manipulation can destroy even the strongest relationships.

I’ve always taught my kids the importance of protecting sibling bonds. Your sibling isn’t going anywhere. That connection is deep, and even when anger exists, protection should too. This storyline was frustrating, but real.

KC has yet to fail me. I discovered her last year, and at this point I’ve listened to about 80% of her collection on Audible. And when she pairs it with the right narrator

SIDENOTE (aka “Don’t come for my stars!”):
Just a quick heads-up my ratings are based on whether I’d reread the book or add it to my personal collection, not the quality of the story itself. So here’s how I roll:

5 🤩 = I’m obsessed with everything the storyline, the author, and the narrators! I read it yearly and own ALL the copies: physical, digital, and Audible. I can basically recite this book. It lives in my private library.
4 🌟 = Loved the story, the author, and the narrator (if it’s audio). I’d happily reread it when I need a solid comfort read.
3 ✨ = Enjoyed the story, the author, and definitely the narrators. A great addition to my yearly reading challenge likely to revisit if it’s part of a series I need to refresh.

4.75 star ⭐️ for sure!!!! Cadence for his Sol

I was so excited about this book, and when I put it on my TBR, I decided to clear some areas first so I could savor this. Unfortunately now that I have finally read it, am pissed that it was not knocked out of the ballpark.
I have read so many K.C Mills that I am at the point where I will clear out a spot on my TBR once I know she has something coming soon; and so I can say that I am very familiar with the type of story and adventure I am going to get, and this is not it.
Cadence/Honor was a young lady that had an horrible experience with a huge burden that all she could was leave everything and go back home to rebuild, except she wasn’t rebuilding, but rather was just existing. Jaasir/Sol was supposed to be a huge superstar, but his motto of “family over anything “ had him take a step back to take care of said family but extreme complications came with it. He ended up also retreating, licking his wounds and meet his Cadence not knowing who she really was and all.
What actually killed me was that it was flat, no passion, no bad boy disguised as a normal up standing guy. Then Cadence was getting on my nerves with her almighty high roads and independent when usually MS. Mills female characters would be fighting to come back. Then Jaasir was being portrayed as a p##sy who yes fell in love at first sight, but never admitted it and then he was chasing and almost pleading with her.
So that said, it was missing something that is always in all of MS. Mills book, that intense feelings and romance and the bomb ass sexcapades.
Nevertheless, I thought Liq definitely has more to say; Val and Drew were the bombs, and Sheets and Dresden got exactly what they deserved.

Cadence + Jassir (Sol)

This story made my heart smile...

Jassir/Sol was sent to Coleman, SC to chill out and “hide” from the public eye after an altercation with the label exec’s son to work on his next album. Consumed with anger, Sol was uninspired until he finds himself in a little whole in the wall club where he meets Cadence.

Cadence returned to her home in Coleman, SC after escaping a horrific past as a songwriter in NY. Her goal was to raise her daughter and forget about the horrific things that happened to her by keeping a low profile…. Until she was photographed with Sol.

Sol was a protector. It was instant love/attraction for him. His goal was to keep Gracie and Cadence safe while also keeping them close. This was such a beautiful story about 2 people with a not so great past finding love within each other.

Jaah was committed to Cadee from their first encounter and it was clear she felt the pull. That commitment was extended to Gracie almost immediately. Their love blossomed slowly while external turmoil was following them. Jaah saw a future with Cadee and Gracie and made strives to ensure it was protected. His heart was big and he stood firm in his decisions to keep his brother and his new family safe. Val was a great addition too. I loved how she was just as protective of Cadee and Gracie..if not more than Jaah. The other side characters were superb as well and added the right amount of drama to the story.

All in all, this was good read! I look forward to what’s next!

This was the one! I haven't read a KC book that I didn't like yet, but this is my favorite so far.

Sometimes it just takes that right somebody. Sol found his somebody, and he knew it. I loved their connection and the way he cared for them. I loved that he was the protector, but still rational and logical. If Sol has your back, you're good.

I love that Cadence was guarded and looking out for Gracie's best interest. Even though I was screaming at her to let him love her and tear down those walls, I get it. She had to be sure, especially with her daughter in the mix.

All I want to know is if her bestie and little brother are a thing...? Maybe reconnecting at the wedding did it for them, cause she did say she wanted to try to the D...

Solid Story

This was a solid story. I just wish that KC would give a little less sidebar thought bubbles, personally I can figure out what the characters are talking about without the extra (him) or (her) in italics. We’re already getting the characters pov the extra is unnecessary and distracting from the story. Val was a little annoying and opinionated and not supportive until the end of the story. I got she was protecting her friend, but it came off as her being a bit of a hater. How can you tell your friend to live her life and then be so judgmental about doing what you asked her to do.

Another One 🐐

KC gone deliver every time, like she literally never misses 🐐

I absolutely loved this story Sol was just everything and Cadence no matter how she tried to fight it or believe that it wouldn’t work she decided to go with the flow and the rest was history. Sol vowed to do everything he could to protect both Cadence and Gracie and my boy did the unthinkable making me love him even more.

This is really an amazing read and if you’ve read KC’s work before then you already know you’re in for a treat and if for some odd reason you’ve never read her work, what are you doing and what are you waiting for?!?? The truth 🙌🏾 I’m telling ya she’s the goat frfr ❤️‼️

Loved It

K.C. never disappoints! Cadence and Sol was a beautiful story! Sol wasn't perfect, but he was a man of great strength when it came to his family! The natural connection of Cadence and Sol was just that natural. Cadence was a mama bear as anyone would when it came to their children! Cadence was strong will and determined to be successful in her own right once she's able to get past her past!
Love is love! Sol and Cadence love for their family was evident, and they valued friendships as well. Gracie was everything, a smart little girl! Never allow the past to define who you are now in the present. Learn from your past, but don't allow it to define you!

Enjoyed‼️

Overall it was a great story but there were moments I was confused and felt like it was dragging. I loved how Jaasir knew what it was and going to be that man manifested their life and love with each other. I was happy it wasn’t a quick I love you situation but more of an aura and attraction situation. I’m happy Cadence didn’t let her past ruin her future but it shows how the industry will destroy you or try it’s best to destroy you. I’m glad Liq got all that off his chest and was able to live free again. Jaah gonna ride for his family no matter what and make sure they come out on top everything time.

Lust at first sight I think. They spent more time handling the drama then the romance. Jasir and Cadence. He’s a provider and protector and she has no idea who is. She a small town girl that has learned to very hard lessons so she’s gun shy but bossy. They connect then the drama unfolds immediately and there was a lot of it. I’m not sure when they fell in love cause the last thing I remember Jasir told his manager that he didn’t love her. So if someone could point me to the chapter and verse I just hav missed, I appreciate it. This was an ok story.

Signature of You…. Worth more than 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️…This book was a really, really good listen. I enjoyed the Love Story between Sol (Jassir) and Cadence. I was happy that they both decided to take a chance to experience love. Loved the support from Val & Kaliq. To love Sol is to love the choice he made to safely protect Cadence & Gracie. Crescent Falls is 🔥🔥. This was a definite recommendation. Narration was great and is on my re-listen list.

🔥🔥🔥🔥

Jaasir was all about family and looking for peace. Cadence was his peace from their first interaction. He was honest with her, but she had her own secrets. I loved how he loved her and Gracie through it all. He proved his love for her over and over again. I love his name.(it just so happens to be my son's middle name).

Great Read

Cadence meeting Jaah was one of the best things that happened to her other than Gracie. They both had pasts that kept the media harassing them, but things worked out in their favor. Jaah was not going to allow anyone to cause harm to his family. He did whatever it took to protect Liq and Cadence. This was an awesome read!

So Good

This book was so good. I could not put it down. What happened to Cadence was sad. No woman deserves that. Jaasir aka Sol has his issues also. When them two are together you can feel the chemistry. I am glad they both got there happily ever after.
