“You start out with the best of intentions, but inevitably you hurt each other. I love you, but that didn't stop me from hurting you last night, or this morning. Love sucks. It's just the way it is.”

Falling in love is easy. But what happens when that love has been tossed aside and trampled on by the person who swore to cherish it? Can you ever trust again, or will the bitter taste of betrayal keep you from allowing anyone else in?

Carter and Elizabeth come with their own set of baggage. Both have had their heart broken and carry the scars of the past into their relationship with each other. Is love ever enough? Can it overcome?

By allowing the wrong person into her heart Elizabeth only knew of love tainted with secrets and lies. Can Carter convince her he wants the whole package, heart, body and soul? As Carter attempts to face his past with Elizabeth by his side, it continues to haunt him at every turn. Can he let go and believe in her enough to leave his past behind him, or will he push too hard and send her running into another man’s arms?

Review:

I am not a light & fluffy romance girl. I like my romances to be full of grit, raw, dangerous, sexy, and unpredictable. But above all heavy with soul-searing emotion. I feel the need to point that out because there are many people who like a classic love story. And this book is for them. It’s not that I didnt like it because I did, but it is just not my usual read.

Overall, Into You is full of emotion, with a good storyline, and likable characters. I was never bored with them, but I was at times frustrated with their thoughts and actions.

Elizabeth and Carter have both been BURNED in the past. We don’t know exactly what happened to each of them initially but you know it has left them both VERY scared of letting someone into their heart. They literally bump into one another and start a light sort of dating. It’s cute and heartwarming. But when things start to get serious, so do their issues.

When we find out exactly what happened to Carter I was shocked and appalled. It was heart-wrenching. However, when Elizabeth finally discloses her past I am less then thrilled with how much it affected her. Not that it wasn’t sad, but it happens to all young girls in love at one time or another–a broken heart, a betrayal. We get over it and move on… :-(

So they are at a crossroads… Do they learn to move on from their past? Or do they let it ruin what they have? Well for awhile it was the latter. They were both EXTREMELY insecure, especially Carter. He was constantly thinking Elizabeth was cheating on him. Ugh… :-( But she did withhold information from him for NO reason (in my opinion) that could have made him skeptical of her. However, JUST ASK HER!!!! Talk it out, or break it off!!! I know, I know, where is the fun in that?

But Carter was also VERY swoon-worthy :-D I LOVED his job and how he handled it! He was so endearing, and would be the PERFECT husband! He wanted her to have his babies and stay home with the kids. o.O And I know a lot of you may think he is sexist, but for some reason it didn’t come off that way…

Overall, I liked but not loved Into You but like I said earlier it was not my usual style of read. However, I think it is a totally lovable novel for the “classic” Contemporary Romance fans :-) If this sounds like you I highly recommend it!

Into you was a sweet and angsty read. I enjoyed the premise of the story and my favorite elements were Carter and Elizabeth's back-stories. It was interesting to see such a vulnerable male MC and I thought the way Sibarium handled Elizabeth's back-story was very well done and tasteful. I think the details of her life could have lead to some serious issues for some readers but I personally sympathized with her. I couldn't stand Carter's family for a majority of the book. I can totally understand why he is so jaded and although at times I was frustrated with his insecurities, his situation made it totally understandable. I really loved how Elizabeth didn't let Carter get away with his crap and stood by her man even when things got tough. It was nice to see a situation flip-flopped where the guy was falling all over himself and struggling with his feelings for the girl.

At first I felt a little disconnected from Elizabeth and Carter. Don't get me wrong, I liked them but I struggled with their relationship in the beginning. I wouldn't call what they had Insta-love but their relationship was fast-moving. I wish there had been a bit more of a foundation laid for them but I enjoyed the romance between them. I thought their relationship showed a lot of growth and development which really put me on their team! There was definitely a lot of back and forth which created all the angst but I think readers who like a good on the edge of your seat romance will enjoy these two.

One thing I love about Sibarium's books is her writing. I have read a lot of NA books and more often than not the writing is lacking for me but I didn't feel that way with Into You. I felt that the writing was rich and colorful rather than monotonous. Although not all YA authors can make a graceful transition to NA, Sibarium handles it with ease. I would recommend this book for those looking for a different, tense, and sweet NA story. Plus I must add, I love that it was a standalone and the epilogue was perfect!

Anyone who knows me knows I am a huge fan of Danielle Sibarium. Don't even get me started on how much I love her Heart Wave series. So when she asked me to read Into You I jumped at the chance. I was not disappointed. from the minute I met Elizabeth and Carter I was hooked. Both of them meet at time they are trying to deal with betrayal in their past.

The story is told through Elizabeth and Carter's POV. Elizabeth is a strong character, which I love. She knows what she wants and what she doesn't. Elizabeth is not afraid to state her mind and fight for what she thinks is right. I love that she didn't just give in to Carter and actually made him work for her attention. She is the perfect woman for him, because she knows how to love him without judgement. Her past makes it hard for her to trust, but also makes it possible for her to love with all her heart.

Then there is Carter. Can we all say sexy. He has trust issues, but after what he's been through who can blame him. The horrid betrayal he's been through has left him broken and at times cold and hotheaded . Through Carter's choice of career you can see the amazing man hiding through the pain. Elizabeth comes into his life at the perfect time. It's nice to watch Carter grow through the book and be able to admit when he's wrong.

Now can we talk about how hot this book is? There were times I even found myself blushing. Carter and Elizabeth have a chemistry that oozes through the pages. They have a hard time keeping their hands off each other, which trust me is a good thing. Together they learn to love again, but most of all how to trust. Their love is hot, but it's also sweet. I just loved them together.

Danielle Sibarium has an amazing talent of writing characters that stay with you even weeks after you finish the book. She writes a love story like no other and you will stay up late flipping through the pages and falling in love. I am counting down the days for next book to come out.

I really enjoyed Danielle’s YA series, Heart Waves, so I was psyched to read her first NA novel!

Elizabeth was a strong main character. She was hesitant to rush into a relationship with Carter because of her past, which I am glad for. She also didn’t lie down in any arguments and stuck up for her opinions. I do wish I could have learned a bit more of her personality during her chapters.

Carter. Oh my god I felt so bad for what he had to go through. I literally could not imagine that ever happening to me or anyone that I know. But he was so strong about it. And I absolutely loved his career. I thought it was perfect for who Carter was. So amazing!

I really liked Liz’s sister Violet. I’d love to see her story next. I hated each one of their parents at one time or another except for Elizabeth’s mom. But they each did redeem themselves. It was great!

I did, at times, feel that their relationship moved too fast. But I knew that they both had been hurt in the past, so I understood their need to be with someone who healed them. It was definitely sexier than Danielle’s YA series and I loved it.

Again, I loved this book and I can’t wait to see what Danielle has up her sleeve for us next!

Favorite Swoon-worthy Quote: I initiated a long, delightful kiss, loosing myself in the pleasure of being in his room and on his bed. I inched over, closer, pressing my body against his. The sweet kiss we started with evolved into something bred of hunger and need. My fingers wound into his hair, holding him close. His hand traveled from my hair, down my body, squeezing, kneading my flesh.

I want to say that I am stepping outside my genre for this one. I usually don’t read New Adult Romance. But, I sampled the first two chapters, and it caught my attention. So, I am a bit outside my comfort zone here. But, I have to admit I’m surprised I enjoyed this. The story line is original and certain parts were refreshingly different. I like angsty stories with characters that have been hurt in the past and are afraid to be hurt again. And, that’s exactly what I got with Into You.

The writing is great which made it easy to fly through this one. I loved both Carter and Elizabeth, but I don’t feel like I really knew them as much as I wanted to. I would have liked to get a deeper look into each of them – I needed a bit more of what’s underneath to really know them. Their relationship was rather rushed but seeing more below the surface that would have solved that for me. All in all, Carter and Elizabeth are great together and share some hot times between the sheets.

This was certainly a nice change from what I’m used to reading. I’m definitely glad I picked this one up.

This is the second book, I have read from this author and I enjoyed it as much as I did "Regret Me Not", the first one I read.

Carter is a behaviorist for children with Autism, a job he is totally dedicated to. He is different in his personal life, where he finds it difficult to trust. He is quite happy having very short term relationships to avoid getting hurt.

Elizabeth is a quietly confident twenty two year old who works in a medical practice. Like Carter, she has trust issues but keeps to herself and when not working, she spends her time with her family.

Elizabeth literally bumps into Carter by accident one day and there begins their story.

Despite their reluctance to trust each other, Carter and Elizabeth do their utmost best to have a steady relationship but each time they move forward, something happens to set them back. Then just when they think nothing could go wrong, tragedy strikes and they find themselves a lot worse off than they were to begin with.

This novel brings with it all the joy of love and happiness, the misery of heartaches as well as fun and some humour.

It would appeal to those who like reading emotional and convincing YA novels.

Full Review at: What's Beyond Forks?

There was so much going on within this story, and it kept my attention completely, which is something I love. The characters were believable and lovable. The two main characters have some pretty serious baggage to work through. Elizabeth was very easy for me to relate to with her relationship fears. Carter had even more to work through, so his progress took longer, and I really enjoyed watching his transformation. I felt invested in these characters. Lastly,

I absolutely love how they meet, and I love how Carter re-visits that later. It was super cute and a nice touch to the story line.

The ARC of Into You by Danielle Sibarium was provided to me by the author for review. The opinions are my own.

This was a fun NA read. At times, watching their relationship was almost like watching a train wreck. I could not look away no matter how horribly things were falling apart for them. Have no fears this there are no evil cliff hangers and things end well, but watching their miscommunication and seeing them make decisions based on old baggage really still had me cringing at times. Carter and Elizabeth were interesting characters, but my favorite was her sister and I am hoping we get to read more about her in the future. I will admit that I did not totally buy the bad boy side of Carter. I did however really love his passion for helping those with Autism and was excited to see the issue being brought to light without being preachy or stealing from the storyline. I will probably read more by this author.

This was a great, fast read with plenty of steamy romance and a great twist to the story line. I'm usually a big fan of young adult, but Danielle has gotten me into more of the new adult romance genre with ease!
