What happens in Vegas doesn’t stay in Vegas. Not when you marry a rock star.
Shay
Las Vegas was a terrible idea. Why can't I say no to my family? After a night out with my awful cousin for her bachelorette party, I wake up naked in a strange bed surrounded by scrawled notebook pages. Turns out I’d married a rock star last night. How am I ever going to explain this to my religious parents?
Chase
I went to Vegas to get married, only she married someone else, so why shouldn’t I do the same? It’s the best way to stop public speculation about the marriage-that-wasn’t. But even better, something about Shay has flipped a switch inside me—suddenly I can write music again. Only my new little wifey isn’t thrilled about our marriage.
She says drunken mistake. I say best night ever. Of course I'm right. And I'll use everything I've got to convince her.

This rock star romance, between playboy vocalist Chase Robinson and virginal engineer Shay Campbell, is just the ticket if you love yourself a married in Vegas meet-cute, with low-angst and a steamy connection between polar opposites looking for love.
Themes/tropes:
☆ Rock star/playboy hero ☆ Shy virgin heroine ☆ Married in Vegas ☆ First times ☆ Opposites attract ☆ Rags to riches ☆ Religious family
Shay and Chase share an instant connection, meeting in Vegas at a time that they’re both feeling pretty down and mistreated by the people in their lives. An unexpected night of emotional bonding and inspiration, leads to a shot-gun wedding and a major life-alteration for quiet and simple Shay, but it all seems worth it to get to be the new wife of a rock legend like Chase Robinson—which is a fact she isn’t aware of until AFTER the nuptials have been taken!
The first half of the story follows Shay and Chase’s whirlwind romance—full of sweet endearments and sexy shenanigans—and sees Shay being thrown to the wolves, as it were, in the face of public scrutiny and judgement from literally everyone in their personal lives who is stumped by their potentially (most definitely) rash decision-making.
The secondary cast—including Chase’s bandmates, their manager, his mother and sister, and Shay’s disgruntled family—all took a little getting used to, if I’m being honest. For someone who reads predominantly for the characters and their relationships (in whichever form that takes), it definitely took me a hot-minute to warm to some of these people. Although their initial rudeness and cruelty came from a place of supposed caring, I found it jarring.
But the second half saw a lot of interesting changes and improvements to the characters and the storyline itself, at least in my personal experience. After what was an ALMOST an unforgivable act puts a wedge between Chase and Shay, the secondary cast rallied around them both, offering support and advice to the newlyweds at a time they both needed a good shake-up and reality-check if they wanted to make it as a couple long-term.
Although a lot of the initial moments between Chase and Shay bordered on too insta-ish and perhaps unrealistic, the issues they faced in the second half of the story gave their characters and their relationship some perfect opportunities to reflect on past behaviour and perhaps naïve choices, and forced them to grow as individuals and as a couple, in a more grounded and genuine ways that made them a couple worth rooting for.
Rock star romances are always touch and go for me, but I flew through this one at a fast pace because it had a really easy and effortless tone to it that had me craving a little bit more at the end of each chapter. I ended up liking the characters in general, but I’m not all that sure I liked them enough to continue with the series… but we’ll see.
I’m a sucker for a “whoops, I married a stranger in Vegas” trope—which, YES, it’s totally a trope if I’ve read more romances with this theme than I could count on both hands. It often requires a bit of suspension of disbelief on the readers part, and an acceptance of insta-love and love-at-first-sight magic, but if you can look past all of that then you will likely have a decent time with this one like I did.
***A special thanks to the publishers (via Netgalley) for providing an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
The tropes here really threw me off. I've never read this author before so maybe it's in line with other writings and may not. Insta-love was a little bonkers, but fine. What got me was the talk of religion and virginity and the MMC fixating on needing to marry the FMC and take her virginity and then also post it online to get back at his ex. Immediate ick for me. If there was more focus on their connection I could excuse it but the MMC just kept talking about taking her home to bed her. Not for me.
I appreciate the author and Netgalley for the opportunity. I received this ARC for free and am leaving this review honestly and voluntarily
I know it is a rushed romance but there should be more talking before the marry me. Not a polite dinner with some topics covered. I loved Ella and Jesse. I definitley want to read their book to see if it will be any different. The smexy scenes didn't seem sexy at all. At one point Shay is essentially being used for just Smex, gets annoyed by it but does not address it at all. Chase seems to recognise the errors of his ways, say it to his band mate about stop drinking but he doesn't say this properly to Shay. However, there is a good amount of character development as Shay gets into her future as becoming a chef. This felt like a rewrite of Kylie Scott's "Lick". Overall, I liked this book but it seemed rished in parts but stretched in unnecessary parts. I look forward to Archer's future books to see growth amongst her work.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from #netgalley , thank you. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
Oh, get ready for your heart to crack a few times. Shay hasn’t been dealt the best of hands, but she is far too kind and giving to let anyone drag her down to their level of meanness. Those who should care don’t seem to, those who claim to appear to only use, and those who need to throw her away like she’s utterly disposable and unworthy. But you know what? Shay is incredibly strong. Even more so than she gives herself credit for. And she’s not just going to take this nonsense anymore. Nope. She’s going to let herself have a good cry or ten, then figure out her life.
And Chase? Well, he’s got some growing to do. Or a lot. Because he loves Shay, but that scares him. He needs her, but he doesn’t want to change the roll he’s on. He adores her, but it would seem when anger and downright dumb decisions fuel him, he’s willing to throw it all away. And honestly, his band mates aren’t any better. They see it all coming and just…LET it. So the grovel shouldn’t be just his, but it is when Shay is the one who is Chase’s whole world.
Luckily, Chase gives excellent grovel. And he defends Shay even when she’s not there to know about it. He also learns to listen to those wiser than he’ll ever be and takes all that he’s learned to win his wife back. So no matter how angry you get, remember that. This guy isn’t afraid of the work. Or the misery that comes with it. And maybe the other three guys will prove that they’ll work just as hard for love when it falls into their laps, too.
Hooked on this book! Shay is on a bachelorette trip in Vegas for the weekend for her cousin that she isn’t close to and doesn’t like her very much, but she feels obligated to go because of the relation to her deceased father. There she meets Chase, who is a famous rock star in town to marry his girlfriend, only for his girlfriend to marry someone else and leave him blindsided. When these two meet and she doesn’t recognize him, he’s surprised and relieved at the breath of fresh air that is Shay and her personality, and one thing leads to another as they spend the night together and they end up married. After deciding they’re going to give things a try after their shotgun marriage, Shay moves to LA with Chase and is essentially thrown to the wolves that are the paparazzi, his band, and his family, while her family basically shuns her, and we find that she isn’t a priority for her family while Chase is for his. I love that Gillian gives these two very realistic problems and that things aren’t perfect once they get back to normal life, with Shay essentially giving up her job and everything else to be there for Chase and essentially be his muse. I was truly obsessed with this book – I read it all in one sit-down and was on the edge of my seat. I hope that we get more from these characters and the rest of the band get their own books! I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
I am definitely a sucker for rockstar romances and this book teetered between a 3 and 4 star read for me but I ultimately went with a four because this is one of my favorite tropes. While Chase was the lead singer of a rock group the "rockstar" representation of it wasn't a huge part of the story. I think if they had been on tour it would have incorporated more of that trope but it was during their off time because Chase couldn't come up with songs for their next album. I thought of Chase of more of a "celebrity" than a rockstar throughout the book. I liked his character but it did bother me how he randomly "forgot" he was married which caused the conflict in the book.
Shay was ok as a character. I could relate with her body image issues and why a huge rockstar would want to be with someone like her. But the constant reminders of her lack of confidence were kind of annoying which made her character a little more annoying. Her relationship with Chase was definitely a "whirlwind" as it started by randomly getting married in Vegas the night that they met. I just didn't feel a real deep connection between the two of them. It felt like to me Chase was a little infatuated with her rather than actually in love. It was pretty obvious the only reason he gave her the time of day in the beginning is because she caused music and lyrics to form in his head.
The side characters were good and they did spark my interest into looking into the next books. The epilogue was disappointing because it was just used as a set up for the next book. There really wasn't anything that showed into the future of Chase's and Shay's relationship. I would have liked to have seen them a few years down the road to see how their relationship actually developed since it didn't develop as much in the book as I would have liked. Maybe that is something that will come with reading the future books.
Shay forgets the next morning that she married Chase after only knowing him for a few hours. Didn’t know he was a rock star. Certainly didn’t know about his lifestyle. Oops! Chase on the other hand knew exactly what he was doing and why he was doing it. The words and music started flowing in him the moment he laid eyes on her. Felt their chemistry every time he touched her.
If you can get through the first 35% of this story - mostly just about sex and her being a virgin - you’ll love this one. I was tempted to stop reading a few times, but I pushed through and thought the second half of the story was great! I could have condensed the beginning part much smaller though… I just felt it was a bit boring…
Romance trope: Vegas marriage Series: Tin Gods Rock Stars Length: 367 pages
Plot: Shay is in Vegas for a bachelorette party and things are not going well. That's when she meets Chase, rock god. Only, she doesn't know who he is. Since he was just dumped by the woman he was about to marry and she's a virgin, it just makes sense to them to get married that night. When they wake up in the morning, though, that's when the real fun begins.
Commentary: I know that she made him grovel but I really don't feel like his explanations meant anything. You got drunk and forgot you were married? What a bizarre excuse for cheating. And beyond that, the fact that up until the very end of the story he just saw her as a muse was weird. Nobody thought it was acceptable except him, and he still acted like a confused baby bird shoved out of the nest when called on it. And he was called on int several times and he kept doing it. I guess all in all the who premise was ridiculous but I absolutely could not get over the "forgetting he was married" excuse. If he drinks that much, perhaps that's what they needed to address first before anything else.

What happens when you marry a Rock God in Vegas? Not what you think. Shay is in Vegas with her awful cousin and her worst friends for her cousin’s bachelorette party. When Shay overhears them talking about her, she wanders off and runs into a god, literally runs into him. When he offers to take her to dinner, she has nothing better to do. She realizes that he had overheard her cousin and friends talking and he feels sorry for her. But that is so far from the truth.
Chase is in Vegas to get married but when his bride marries someone else, he bumps into this goddess, and he hears music. He has gotten his mojo back. His writer's block is gone, and it is thanks to Shay. He has to keep her close. And what better way to do that than to marry her? The funny thing is, she has no idea who he is. She is in for a big surprise when the sun comes up.
I enjoyed this story and was rooting for Shay but knew that something was going to go wrong. It wasn't as bad as I was thinking though. I thought that Shay and Chase were good together. Her innocence made him want to be a better person for her. I hope you give this one a chance and I can't wait for book two.
Ruthie – ☆☆☆☆ I am very happy that this is the start of a new series, because I am already looking forward to what messes the rest of the band can get themselves into!
Chase is in Vegas to get married – and when his plans fall apart, he finds an unexpected alternative bride in Shay. What's more, it would seem that she is also breaking his writer's block. I enjoyed their meet-cute, although when she realises she was a substitute to someone who is her polar opposite, there are a few difficult moments.
Shay doing things for others is definitely a theme as she has been the well behaved daughter until this weekend in Vegas. Now she is being very patient as Chase uses her as his muse, almost entirely forgetting that she also has needs.
Lots of passion, lots of rock star crazy moments, but also an awakening as to what is really important. It will be interesting to see how the rest of the band move forward in future installments.

ROCKED is the first instalment in Gillian Archer’s contemporary, adult TIN GODS ROCK STAR erotic, rock romance series focusing on the members of Tin Gods. This is thirty-five year old singer/writer Chase Robinson, and twenty-five year old, engineer Shay Campbell’s story line.
Told from dual first person perspectives (Shay and Chase) ROCKED follows in the aftermath of the Vegas wedding between our story line couple. Shay Campbell was in Vegas for her cousin’s bachelorette party but Shay wasn’t welcome, and found herself on the outside looking in. Chase Robinson was in Vegas to marry his long-time but questionable girlfriend but discovered she had married somebody else. Both struggle with what to do next, Chase proposed married to our story line heroine, and in the aftermath everything began to spiral out of control. From petulant bandmates to screeching family, Chase and Shay would have to face the truth but together they were stronger than apart. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Shay and Chase, and the potential fall-out as Chase’s old ways threaten to destroy the growing love with our story line heroine.
The world building focuses on the Tin Gods rock band: their fame and fortune, their groupies and fans, their desperation to be accepted by the public at large but Chase has found his happily ever after in Shay Campbell, only to realize that his own betrayal will rip them apart.Shay Campbell is an innocent, having grown up with an uber-religious step-father, a man who believes in a strict moral code. Naïve to the point of child-like awe, Shay struggles Chase’s lifestyle, language and the people he knows.
The relationship between Shay and Chase begins as a Vegas marriage, a marriage to a man Shay does not remember, a man who is about to rock her world. But betrayal will come at a cost, threatening any sense of happiness, and Chase will have to grovel in an effort to win back the woman he loves. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.
We are introduced to the band: Jesse Mala, Noah, Xander, Manager Tyler Worthington, and security specialist Walker, as well as Chase’s sister Ella, his mother Lori, and Shay’s angry and quick to judge parents.
ROCKED is a familiar story of power and control, betrayal and forgiveness, family and friendships, relationships and love. The premise is entertaining, captivating and endearing although the plotline resonates with a familiarity too easily dismissed; the romance is seductive and provocative; the characters are determined, dynamic and charismatic
In the first book in A Tin Gods Rock Star Romance. We meet Shay and Chase and oh boy did they take me for a Rock Star ride and it was so so good! The authors writing flawless and the words are so captivating, the plot had so many twists and turns and none that I was expecting, and many shockingly intimate I have become a huge fan of this author. The author writes with so much intensity and emotion pulled from each book it’s felt page after page. Some are quick witted story lines are so perfect and lets you believe you have a front row seat. So being able to read this love story didn’t disappoint. The authors ability to have two separate individuals struggling in their everyday life and try to navigate someone else’s thoughts, needs and desires was intense and gives all the fills.

This book has everything I love in a book. Then you add that it's beautifully written and believable. It is easily a five star read. Written in dual POV my personal favorite this story flows so incredibly well that the next thing you know your 80% into the book and loving every second of it. The believable way the characters interact is perfect. Run, Hop, Jump or use your (1 click) finger to do whatever you have to do and get this amazing book. It'll break your heart, you'll want to scream with frustration and it'll let you discover that love just might conquer all. The chemistry is steamy and sweet and oh so romantic.
This is my first Gillian Archer book and I have to say I really loved it. This is a Rockstar romance that will take you on a wild ride,it was pretty easy to fall into..there are some books you read and it takes a long time to be able to get into.I found this story quite easy to read and it flowed just as easily. Shay and Chase are opposites and they are both in Las Vegas for different reasons. Shay is attending her obnoxious cousins Bachelorette party, and she really doesn't want to be there. Because her cousin and her friends are just mean to her all the time. She is a curvy girl and a little bit nerdy and they always tease her about everything. Chase is in Vegas to marry his girlfriend, but that falls flat as she marrys the guy who she was cheating on him with.So like rockstars do he goes out on the town to drown his sorrows.Chase is the enigmatic impulsive rockstar, incredibly gorgeous and full of confidence and wildness. On his night out is were he encounters Shay for the first time and it is attraction at first sight..Chase even begins to hear melodies in his mind and wants to write lyrics, after not being able to for months. He hadn't been able to write a single song but in Shay's presence he is itching to write music again, So he convinces himself he needs to have her in his life and doesn't want to let her go persuading her to actually marry him...Shay being the naive woman she is she says yes !!..she is tired of being boring and wants to live a little. From that point on Shay is swept into Chase's world of money and music fans..etc which is overwhelming. They have Amazing chemistry and there is no doubt that they are attracted to eachother and make eachother very hot. I loved the way Chase always trys to make Shay realise how beautiful she is by appreciating her body and all its curves....and always lets her know how much he likes spending time with her. They both try to navigate their new marriage by getting to know eachother and Chase has to try to make Shay realise that the thing between them is real and to stay married. This is a really good story full of steam and romance with great characters that prove opposites do attract.I enjoyed Gillian Archers writing style and I will definitely read the next book to this new series. Fabulous read. 5 Stars.

Rockstar romances are my absolute favorite genre and I read a lot of them. I love it when I discover another new for me rockstar writer. Rocked (which isn’t really a great title, by the way, but oh well…) is the first book in the Tin Gods Rock Star series and I’m already captivated and committed to reading every future book. This first book is band frontman Chase’s love story. It wasn’t at all what I expected. Despite the premise this isn’t an instalove romance nor is it a marriage of convenience. The way they end up marrying the night they meet and how they move forward afterwards is so interesting and believable.
Polar opposites in almost every way, neither of them were perfect. Shay had a lot of issues due to her less than wonderful family and upbringing and was incredibly naive for someone so intelligent and educated. Chase seemed like the stereotypical rockstar, drinking, groupies, etc, and while I initially liked him that soured as time went by and he showed how much he still needed to grow up. He was interesting to watch because subconsciously he wanted to do the right thing but his conscious mind and habits were constantly leading him astray. He was also in many ways very selfish and didn’t even realize it. As he changed I fell in love with him and by the end he totally redeemed himself in my eyes. The two of them were so great together and their chemistry was fantastic. They really did bring out the best in each other and I truly enjoyed watching them fall in love.
This is actually a four and a half star book as the ending was rushed and lacking in the depth the rest of the book had plus there were a couple of questions never answered and I also feel he really never earned her forgiveness. Based on what he did, she gave in too easily. I rounded up instead of down because except for the last few chapters this book was definitely five stars plus the actual writing itself was excellent and well edited. I’m very much looking forward to the rest of the books in the series and highly recommended this wonderful book to anyone who loves rockstar romances as much as I do.
Gillian Archer brings an instant attraction that turns into a marriage of convenience within hours of meeting between rockstar Chase Robertson and wallflower Shay Campbell in Rocked, the first book in her Tin God Rock Stars series for an entertaining read!
Chase was at first and even second glance a bit self absorbed but little by little his interactions with Shay showed everyone including himself a side of himself long dormant, seeing beyond his own needs and putting someone else’s first. Chase was not a bad person but he had a lot of growing to do and Shay not only served as his creative muse but motivated him to be less selfish. Shay was about fitting in to the extent that she stopped reaching for her true dreams. Relegated to second her whole life and doing what pleased others she found herself ultimately in the same predicament with Chase, once again taking a backseat to others.
There was a lot going on in this book and the dynamic between Chase and Shay was ever evolving. At first this couple's connection served their separate interest but gradually it started to move into the direction of mutual interest. Their chemistry was steamy but more so it was the development of their emotional tie that kept this story interesting. It was nice to see a heroine who despite her insecurities and development of feelings stand her ground and recognize when her situation was not healthy and stand up for herself. Additionally Chase's maturing and seeing his mistakes as well as wanting to correct them was refreshing. The struggles in this work were done well and this author did a good job of portraying the over the top world of a rockstar. Fun interactions with the band and the rest of the secondary cast will keep readers engaged.
Gillian Archer showed some deceptively strong independent women in this work. Her evolving of her portrayals emotions was done well and their feelings for each other felt genuine. Gillian Archer's Rocked was a quick and fun read and a good start to her Tin God Rock Stars series!

What could go wrong when you wake up in Vegas married to a rockstar? Do you ride the insane ride and embrace the insanity or tuck tail and run? When Shay and Chase first meet neither one is having the fun they both expected Vegas to bring them and of course Shay was completely clueless to who he is. For Shay this is a chance for her to experience things she never could under her strict stepfather’s religious views and for Chase it’s the first time he has had lyrics flow so easily when she is around. The night goes on and they concoct a crazy idea to get married because hey it’s Vegas, little does Shay know that Chase has more than one reason for wanting this with her. The story takes us on a ride of installs/love while they try to sort through this new path their lives are taking, but Shay ends up sacrificing so much of herself while Chase gets everything he wants. I loved the flow of the story, the characters, and all the emotions it pulled out of me. I wasn’t fond of how awful those close to Chase were so cruel to Shay without doing too much groveling, yet I understood how they wanted to make sure she wasn’t out for money or to destroy him. Shay had her moments where I would think she is finally standing up for herself only to fold when Chase kissed her and in moments like this when her being naive really made me want to shake her. Then Chase had a lot of things to figure out because he couldn’t grasp how much he was hurting Shay and practically using her for his own needs. I loved that towards the end we do see both Chase and Shay grow when things go sideways and they both realize they needed time to reset and figure things out. Overall, this story was cute, fun, and steamy that kept me glued to the very end.
My Review: Rocked by Gillian Archer is book one in the new Tin Gods series. It was everything a rock star romance should be.
About the Book: After being jilted by his girlfriend, the famous lead singer from the rock group Tin Gods up and marries a stranger. She is his new muse. The newlyweds make beautiful music together, until a rather devastating development arises. With paparazzi hounding them, family and friends interrupting them, and growing pains hindering them, they have a lot pressing in on them. Do they have what it takes to make it? Will their relationship last, or will it fold before it even has a chance to soar?
My Final Say: Opposites really do attract! That was my takeaway from this story. It was aces. What Shay and Chase found was kismet. What they experienced was heartbreakingly sweet. Despite the rough patches, I was totally feeling Team Chay. Their chemistry was insane, and they just worked. Their attachment, their connection, their steam - it was all so very emotional and explosive.
* Readers who are all about rocker romances with a side of growth points will undoubtedly vibe with this installment.
Other: Bring on book 2. Let's go!

I really enjoyed this book. It was a little predictable, but I knew that going in. But I liked it enough that I will definitely be reading the rest of this series.
Chase was a little smarmy at times, I'm not sure that the right word, but he gave it all the talk, and I did find him self-centred at times, too. Shay was very nieve for most of this book, but when the relationship imploded because of Chase and his "rockstar" ways. She stood tall and became strong and told him exactly what needed to be said.
I know I sound like I had loads of problems with this story, but far from it. All the wrongs made for a great read, in my opinion. One that I couldn't put down. It had so many emotional moments, too, and I was glad we got to see a little human in Chase. Shay made him better for being in his life, and that's what I loved.
I totally recommend this book, and I can't wait for book 2 in the series.
I loved Shay ... she just so "dang" innocent and I think that is why Chase was able to sweep her off her feet. It really bothered me that Chase only thought of her as his writing inspiration and I felt he was taking advantage of her. Even though Shay was living the life of luxury, she was kinda stuck in Chase's world. The banter between the characters is very realistic, especially between the band members. This is a great start to a new series and I can't wait for Jesse and Elle's story!
Chase is a rockstar and was in Vegas to marry is girlfriend Meadow, but he finds out that she actually married someone else. He goes to a club to drown his sorrows and overhears Shay's so called friends teasing her about being a virgin. He can't help but be drawn to her because when he looks at her the music in his head comes back after being gone for a very long time. Shay was forced to go on her cousin's bachelorette weekend to Vegas. She doesn't want to be there and her cousin and her friends don't want her there. So when this hunky guy asks her to join him, she readily agrees. The last thing she expected was to be married to him by the end of the night. She has no idea he is a famous rockstar and the world she's being dragged into.

This was a really fun and hot book if you suspend reality a bit. It stars Shay who is in Vegas for her evil cousins Bachelorette party. She is very mean to Shay and our hero Chase hears the things she says and decides to save her.
Chase is in Vegas after being dumped by his ex when she married someone else. He is feeling bad about it when he hears Shay's cousin and decides to save her.
The next morning, she finds out they got hitched and thats when Shay gets very interesting. She finds out she married a rock star, and he wants to give her a whole new life. She decides to follow her lust and be more daring and gives Chase a shot.
This is very much a very opposite falling in love once they get married storyline. It was fun, hot and sexy and I really liked the two main characters, though I found at times Chase was a bit immature and used Shay rather than supported her.
If you like sexy rock stars who are a bit rough around the edges but with their hearts in the right place you will enjoy this story. I loved that Shay follows her heart and listens to it, even when it means leaving her comfort behind and tries new things. She really grows up a lot in this story and discovers who she really is.

I am very happy that this is the start of a new series, because I am already looking forward to what messes the rest of the band can get themselves into!
Chase is in Vegas to get married - and when his plans fall apart, he finds an unexpected alternative bride in Shay. What's more it would seem that she is also breaking his writer's block.
Going to Vegas is the last thing practical Shay wants to do but family is family right? Unfortunately her cousin drives her to drink and a chance meeting in a bar changes everything. Chase is a rock god who unfortunately has been experiencing writer’s block. Heading to Vegas to marry his girl is supposed to change all that until he finds out she got married to someone else. Bumping into Shay in the bar changes everything, but the biggest shock is her lack of knowledge of his superstar rock status. This seems to be the start of a new series by the author with some overlap of her Star Studded series. It has the same realistic vibe yet also the fantasy of what happens when an everyday person marries a rock star. Yes Chase has some jerk-like tendencies that make you want to smack him but isn’t that what most of us think about celebrities who loose touch with reality? This book is a great read that has a bit of it all, fantasy, heat, realism and strong leads. The fact that Chase seems to overcome the negativity of stardom and really fall for the “average” Shay will have you cheering for the two of them. I can’t wait for more about the other band members. 4.5 stars. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read and read this arc. All thoughts are my own.
This might just be my favorite Gillian Archer yet. All of the fun of a rockstar daydream with a heroine you cannot help but root for. Shay meets Chase at a low point while in Vegas for her heinous cousin’s bachelorette. She doesn’t recognize him as the lead singer of a world famous band. She just sees a hot, seemingly kind man she is highly attracted to and when in Vegas….Chase has just been abruptly dumped and hasn’t been able to write in months when he spots Shay and she lets loose a torrent of lyrics in his mind almost instantly. Clearly they are meant to be. An impulsive wedding after knowing each other for a few hours shouldn’t cause any drama, right?
Two very different people trying to find their way together to make a future out of a decision that none around them initially supports. They need to get to know and trust each other and themselves with a spotlight always shining on them. This book started off fun and silly but quickly grew into a story with more substance. It never lost the escapism of a fantasy but it made my investment in the characters more intense.. Really looking forward to more in this series.
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads, so here is my review. 4.5 stars What happens when you marry a Rock God in Vegas? Not what you think. Shay is in Vegas with her awful cousin and her worst friends for her bachelorette party. When Shay overhears them talking about her she wanders off and runs into a god, literally runs into him. When he offers to take her to dinner she has nothing better to do. She realizes that he had overheard her cousin and friends talking and he feels sorry for her. But that is so far from the truth. Chase is in Vegas to get married but when his bride marries someone else he bumps into this goddess and he hears music. He has gotten his mojo back. His writer's block is gone and it is thanks to Shay. He has to keep her close. And what better way to do that than to marry her? The funny thing is she has no idea who he is. She is in for a big surprise when the sun comes up. I enjoyed this story and was rooting for Shay but knew that something was going to go wrong. It wasn't as bad as I was thinking though. I thought that Shay and Chase were good together. Her innocence made him want to be a better person for her. I hope you give this one a chance and I can't wait for book 2.
Rocked is book one in the Tin Gods series and wowzer such a good way to start off not only a new series, but a new author to me. I enjoy reading Vegas stories and I especially love when the characters are completely opposite, not stick thin and feelings are more from the man side then women (he falls first). Chase is famous only Shay doesn't know that. She is in Vegas and getting bullied with her bachelorette crew and Chase was in Vegas to get married, but as you will see he gets married alright just not to who he thought. I liked that technically they knew some things about each other before doing the whole Vegas thing, even though Shay didn't fully remember. haha. Chase of course being famous messes up, but you will love what he does to show her that she truly did Rock his world and not just as his muse. I am happy to see that his sister is getting a book, with whom I'm not so sure yet. I say yay and then mm what about the other one in the band. We shall see in the next story. I look forward to reading more by this author.
Shay goes to Vegas with her cousins to be part of the bachelorette party. She does not want to be there but she feels gilded into going. Once there she is not having a good time at all and after being teased and said mean and hurtful things to her by her cousin and friends. A guy comes up to her and tells her positive affirmations, this leads to them spending the night in Vegas just hanging out and having a good time. By the time the morning comes, she is waking up in bed with the same guy but her phone is blowing up and it is then that she realises that she is married to rock musician Chase who last night began writing music again something he has not been able to do in a very long time. After talking it over she decides to try and make it work and when they go to his home and run into problems with a bandmate and a manager she sees him sticking up for her towards them. This was a very good book about two people coming together regardless of the people around them. A very good book with good characters. I received this book from Netgalley.com
Wow! I couldn't stop reading, even when I was exhausted and needed sleep this book had a pull to it that I couldn't just let go. I haven't read a rock genre story in a long time that I liked as much as this story. I loved the characters and how they all have a different story and are engaging, exciting and frustrating. The two main characters in the story are Chase; the lead singer of the rock band the Tin Gods and Shay; a woman who is trying to write her own story in her life but who doesn't take the chances she wants to. I have to say that I love the differences between Chase and Shay and they just seem to fit each other so well. This story has love, romance, ego, rivals, drama, and of course rock gods. I can't say enough good things about this book and the start of this series other than GO READ IT!!! Such a great story and I love Gilliam Archer and how she writes, just amazing.
To say I was hooked from the very start of this book is an understatement. The characters and the storyline had me captivated and unable to put this book down. Chase and Shay had a chemistry and connection that oozed from every page and had you entranced by this couple. A rash decision in Vegas has these two turning their lives upside down. A good decision or a bad one, only time would tell. Shay's character was endearing and quirky and you couldn't help but love her from the very start. Chase at times had me sitting on the fence with his self absorbed and immature ways, however all is not lost as this rock god proves he can learn from his mistakes and show us what his heart truly wants. A story filled with witty banter, hot and steamy moments, drama and overflowing with emotion. A great start to a new series that has me totally invested for the remainder of it and eagerly awaiting the next book.
