Billionaire Kent Anderson is used to getting what he wants. Every woman he knows falls at his feet. When the full-figured cleaner working on his floor catches his eye, Kent figures it will only be a matter of time before she’s underneath him, in his bed.
Lana Hawkins has dealt with a troubled past and is moving on. She’s sworn off men after her last boyfriend broke her heart. When Kent Anderson starts paying her attention she does the only thing she can think of…she becomes his friend.
But the attraction and passion between them starts to build until Kent finally takes the next step. But what can he do to convince Lana he’s in love with her? Her past is always in the way, and she refuses to open up. Can Lana finally give her heart to the man she loves or will her past finally take the one person she loves away?
Sam Crescent is passionate about fiction. She loves a good erotic romance and so it only made sense for her to spread her wings and start writing. She began writing in 2009 and finally got that first acceptance in 2011 by Total-E-Bound. She loved creating new characters and delving into the worlds that she creates. When she’s not panicking about a story or arguing with a character, she can be found in her kitchen creating all kinds of havoc. Like her stories the creations in the kitchen can be just as dubious but sometimes things turn out great.
I believe that Sam Crescent is a very talented author but sometimes she gives the impression that she submits her books without reading them a second time. For example, it is stated in the book's beginning that the H knew a lot of things about the h's past, and afterwards this seems to be forgotten; he asks questions that are hurtfull to her, like he has no idea (the author apparently forgot what her H knew). The other thing that put me off, was the cover. Does the guy in front pass for a 45 sucessfull businessman? I hope I 'll enjoy more her next work.
I read this because the title caught my attention. This is truly my kind of book and I did not regret my decision of picking this one up.
There are books that make you go swooning, and smiling all the time because of the sweetness of the story and the characters. It makes you go all gooey inside. This book did just that to me and I’m loving it.
This story is about Kent Anderson a billionaire, single and a womanizer who fell in love with Lana Hawkins, a chubby, poor, cleaner. Kent is bored with his life and decicded to finally settle in when he met Lana. Lana on the other hand, was pretty clueless at first as to why Kent Anderson was suddenly paying attention to her. When Kent decided that he needed to get to know Lana more, he put up a courage by asking Lana to take her home after her night shift ,cleaning his top building office. When, he finally know her, Kent cannot deny his attraction to her and decided to further their relationship. But Lana, was feeling unsure about Kent. She felt like, she wasn’t good enough for him because of her past and her status as a cleaner. She felt all this kind of insecurities and low self-esteem, and decided that she just wanted to be friends. And so they did.
This is another story about friends to lover relationships. An unexpected friendship that finally turns into a life time love. This is so heartwarming and the characters are loveable. Eventhough Lana, is a little bit of a whiny type but it’s not annoying at all. I can really connect with all of her emotions towards Kent. Because how will you feel when a handsome billionaire started to pay attention to you and you’ve got nothing to offer? I’ll be ashamed for sure and that’s exactly how Lana felt. She was embarrassed by her past, but all the secrets were finally resolved at the end with a beautiful ending.
I really enjoyed this because the romance was build in a slow pace which is really good. The sex scene is hot and I really love the plot development. My only problem is, the age of the hero. 45 years old is too old for me, and I don’t know how old is Lana so it’s kinda hard for me to visualize the characters. However, I love this and hope that I can read more books similar to this soon.
Enjoyable read.Liked the friends to lovers theme in this book and enjoyed how their relationship progressed to the lovers phase.Enjoyed the scene where the hero calls the heroine to tell her that he has " man-flu" and she needs to come and take care of him, cute :)).....3.75****
This is one of her better books. The couple don't have sex until the end of the book and the rest of the books is about them becoming closer as friends.
I have to say this was my first Sam Crescent book but surely not my last!!!! It was short, hot and it had a sexy man that took his time with the girl he fell in love with!!! Loved it!!
H is 45 and I bet h is in her early/mid twenties...not for me. Plus I hate H was in love with his brother's wife - who h has to probably be friends with:(

I wouldn’t go so far as to classify the hero as a douche but he was a manipulative bastard. Unfortunately, I don’t have a category for that. The heroine needed to grow some balls and stick up for herself. “Oh, you have been stalking me? That’s fine. You paid someone to stalk me? Awe, you care! You completely control my life but it’s okay because you’re attractive. You tell everything to your mother even things that she be kept private? Don’t even mention it. You get mad? I will always apologize even when you should be apologizing to me. Oh, you want me to be your slave? Okay, sex is good, no need to use my brain for anything. “ - That was basically the entire book. It was awful. Yes he had sweet moments but they weren’t very sweet because he took over every aspect of her life. The writing was the same as any other of Sam Crescent’s work. It was juvenile and in need of an editor who knows the proper forms of words. How can you be a writer and use the wrong form of accept/except, along with many others, that you learn in 3rd grade? All of her books go by the same outline. She has a crap load of books and they are all the same. She just changed a couple details and charged you for it. Of course we are all suckers and bought it thinking things will be different.
I do have a lot of respect for authors and the hard work they put into their books but it just seems like some get into a rut in what they think should work. It is time to move on. Have you not heard of feminism? No one wants to have a pushover heroine. At least have her grow as a person to not be a pushover. Maybe back away from douchey, chauvinistic, controlling bastards that are called a “hero”. It IS possible to write an Alpha Male without making him make her his slave.
I changed my mind. After going over all of that, I will list him as a douche.

Lana is a workaholic, poor and barley making ends meat.. with a slight crush on her boss Kent who is a Single, womanizer...who she thinks
1. He doesn't know she even existed and 2. Her last boyfriend kinda made her weary of men.. but little does she know Kent does notice her and he does want her.. together they are super cute and annoying lol Kent wanting to date her but goes at a slowwwww pace not wanting to scare Lana.. lord.. she couldn't let him do anything for her.. buy her food, drive her home she kept thinking he wanted to be friends not lovers..
Glad Kent kept at it and broke down her walls.. even when they were together he kept breaking them walls down..
Low in angst, no ow/om drama but maybe one moment with Kent ex being in his penthouse he kicked her out, drama no cheating, and secondary chara, sexy sex really enjoyed the book.
Instalove Masturbation Verbally abused Hea Epilogue
A complicated character like the female lead needed a longer story.
Having said that, it was nicely written for a short story. I just wish it had been longer. I really liked it. I didn’t care for the male lead. While he was written as a lovable male he wasn’t like that in every other way. He did a 180 on his feelings about a few women in this book and it was simply nonsense. Had he been written as a reclusive workaholic and not as a rich womanizer I would have liked him more. Just my opinion.
I really enjoyed this book. It has been a while since I’ve read one of Sam’s books. This one brought me back to way I enjoyed this author. Kent and Lana are adorable together. Their journey is sweet, lovable and gives all the feelings. The writing and flow of this book is done well. I do recommend this book.
Sizzling HOT~ If you need an escape from reality, maybe or just a break from the everyday, boring doldrums that're gett'n ya down, then look to Sam Crescent cuz she brings the HEA's to Scorching Fantasies with all the HEAT & feels we need in True RoMANce!
This book is completely different than what im used to of the author but it was so refreshing so beautiful and written to perfection its a truly beautiful book.
I really love this book . It made me cry at the ending but i'm glad they lived happily ever after . The most breath-taking book from Sam Crescent . The best book ever !!!! LOVE ITTTT.
What a totally amazing book!! I just absolutely loved this book and I can't wait to read the next book by this author!! A definite must read!! Happy Reading!!! :)
Well ,this is my first EVER book review. So there goes, This book is a reread for me. Sam crescent seems to be quite famous with steamy hot sex, but this book seems to be an exception, there is goos development of the characters and the sex though is quite minimum it's right on the point! ! Our billionaire aka kent anderson is a billionaire coming from a rich family.he is 45yrs old and is a playboy. Cue in lana (our cleaner) who cleans his office . Now,both of them are attracted to each other (insta love ehh). Lana has been through a abuse past with het ex-boyfriend frank. So she fights her attraction towards kent and they remain friends. I really enjoyed their late night food hogging. They share a kiss under the mistletoe on christmas . Then she takes care of him when he has "man-flu".
Spoiler : her past involves her mother who is a whore who didn't care for lana. Lana is pregnant when kent proposes to her
All in all it's a short read (1 hour) with a cute HEA .
Lana Hawkins grow up in a trailer park with a drunk mother and no father. Just a string of men using her mother for sex and trying to sleep with her. Her education stopped after high school and she now works 2 jobs to keep her apartment. She works in a diner during the day and cleans offices at night.
Kent Anderson is a billionaire who's family and friends just want to see him happy and settled. He has a black book full of one night stands but no long term winners. He falls for his office cleaner but has never spoken to her. He wants Lana in his bed but she just wants to be friends. Her past is holding her back. Friends is better than nothing but Lovers would be great.
Read this in one go! I was really expecting so much more from this book and I've got to say I was disappointed, it was short, the characters felt very wishy washy, and I felt no love for the characters. I didn't like/hate them. The only character I truly liked was penny and she didn't appear until the book was more than half way over. Even though the sex was reserved till the end I actually ended up glazing through the sex scenes. There was nothing attractive of reading the words "cock" "pussy" it just felt unimaginative, the whole story line just felt like it lacked imagination. Overall it wasn't a bad book but I wasn't a great book.
Such a beautiful story of a womanizer and a cleaner falling in love. Lana was sweet but afraid of being hurt from a very bad childhood and from her bad ex and wanted to live without getting hurt from life. Kent was hurt from a past love and was a only sex from a woman man. Only when he saw Lana cleaning his office, he was a billionaire, he want to have sex with her only but there was something about her that was different than the other women did not have, they got to be friends first. Kent was so patient with her, so sweet. Lana didn't think they could be together because of her past but Kent showed her he truly loved her. Great ending, great story!
I enjoyed this book. Some may find it too slow and boring but I like that the author took time to show the development of their relationship. The hero was so sweet although you'd think he had a crass personality at the start but because of his growing love for the heroine he became a changed man. I liked how the author showed that and kept the sex scene towards the end of the story. I can't believe I'm saying this but i found that it was refreshing especially having read so many erotic billionaire books lately.
As opposed to her other books, this one definitely wasn't erotica. It was a cute best-friends-who-were-attracted-to-each-other-from-the-beginning-turned-lovers theme.
But Sam Crescent isn't my cup of tea, therefore the 1-star.
I really love this book it just prove that no matter what life give you that you can still over come it. the cleaner did that even before the rich man came in her life and the success after there together mad it that much better
