The back cover describes the book as talking about near death experiences, deathbed visions, people’s last words, visits to heaven and hell etc. and it was more about religion and the Bible than it was about near death experiences. So for that reason I’m disappointed in describing what the book was about.

If you don't believe in the biblical doctrine of hell, read this or any other of Wiese's books. In this one, he interweaves near death experiences with solid scriptural back up, and gives a good apologetic overview of hell. By the time you finish reading all the biblical mentions of it, and all that Jesus said about it, you simply can't claim to believe the Bible if you still insist hell isn't real. Wiese's style is conversational and easy to read, but by no means unintelligent. His testimony (given at length in another of his books) is also worth reading.

This book was part "Heavenly experiences," part a call to choose Jesus over eternal alienation from Him. Bill claims he has been to Hell. Here, he shares other stories of people who have also been there. He says there are different levels of Hell based on one's lifetime works. There's darkness, a lake of fire, demons, torment, putrid smells, and a helpless, hopeless feeling because people can never leave! We must REPENT in order to be found in the Lamb's Book of Life or we will be in Hell too.

Some good, thought provoking information and discussion. However, the first four chapters try to build the case for the Bible and Christianity, as do a couple of the last chapters. I found this quite distracting...and unnecessary.

This book answered and gave clarification of questions I had based on scripture.
I found it easy to read and follow.
