Integrating the traditional presentation of the nature, scope, philosophy, and history of physical education and sport with the growing career opportunities available within this dynamic field, this text addresses the challenges and the future of the discipline. It emphasizes preparation for a diversity of careers, addressing areas such as teaching, coaching, exercise leadership, athletic training, sport management, and sport media.
A very helpful textbook if you’re majoring in Physical Education. Unfortunately, I’m not, but I could still see how it would be useful. It had some well-done chapters explaining different aspects of physical education at different ages and how many job opportunities there are, but it was also incredibly redundant. A lot of the chapters repeated the same things mentioned in previous chapters, and there were a lot of things said throughout the book that seemed obvious and unnecessary.
This was a good textbook with a lot of valuable information. The set up was easy to understand and had many links to webpages and journals for more information that wasn't covered in this book, or simply to find organizations that may interest the readers.
