What people are saying about * “I read this book without stopping. It's rare to me for a western to have a strong woman character. Great plot about a mother‘s love. I hope this author writes more westerns.” – Wilma Ann Washington * “I enjoyed this book. It was well thought out and written. Jolene was who we hoped we would be in a crisis.” – By D. * “I loved this story and I hope the author continues to write more western romances. The characters were strong and the story was wrapped up nicely with a happy ending. Well done!” – Kathy Q. When Jolene's husband leaves her with a young son to provide for and a homestead to tend to, she realizes that if she is going to make it, she will need help. Desperate, she hires old Ben Matthews. The townsfolk wondered at the strange combination, a young woman and an old used up drunk, but Jolene and Ben go about their business and don’t pay them any mind. Then just when things seem to be looking up, disaster strikes. When the townsfolk do not take action, she realizes that she must. Her son's life is resting in her hands. Knowing that she is more than likely riding to her death, Jolene cuts off her hair, dresses in some of her husband's old clothes, and rides off to face the murdering Indians, ruthless outlaws and just about anybody else that might happen to get in the way. When her journey proves more than one woman can handle alone and when it seems that all hope is gone and that her child is lost forever, she finds a man with a love so strong, it just might save them all.

Jolene.

Such a powerful Christian novel. A good read. Has a sense that humanity has good people. God is still in control.
