Leo Perconti's life is spinning out of control. As head of his family's hotel conglomerate, it's his job to save his family from bankruptcy. At the center of his turmoil is Karin Norell, a quiet, alluring housekeeping manager who compliments his dominating personality and lets him feel in control once more.
As Karin explores her passion, her feelings for Leo deepen. Unfortunately, Karin and Leo come from different worlds, and when the two worlds collide, the cost can be devastating. As the service staff at The Palazzo rise up against the Perconti family, both Leo and Karin are faced with losing what each of them holds most dear. Together they must learn that true power comes from vulnerability and trust that can only happen when you let your insecurities go.

At His Service by Suzanne Rock is the first book that I have read from this author and I must say that I found myself devouring this book in one sitting. Nothing like a hot, sensual, sexy, steamy, erotic romance to keep you glued to your kindle. In this sexy tale, Ms. Rock was able to weave an erotic romance that was packed with so much sensuality and emotions.
Leo Perconti is the eldest sibling of the Perconti Enterprise. All the family obligation to keep the family business afloat lies solely on him. So when their hotel empire is nearing bankruptcy due to the frivolous spending of his siblings, Leo tries to take reigns to salvage the family business and name. Leo is rumored to be a tyrant and someone who wants control and perfection. But one thing Leo failed to control was the downfall of his family's business enterprise and so that burden took a toll on him. His heart has been so closed off for so long since he knew what it was liked to be used and betrayed. But what Leo didn't expect was to lose control to an intern who captured his attention from the moment he laid eyes on her. For the first time, he was able to get lost in someone who saw him and not Leo, the eligible bachelor. So when Leo had his first taste of Karin Norell, he was intoxicated with her beauty, simplicity and sexuality. As his family is on a verge of a downfall and media frenzy, will Karin be his saving grace?
At His Service had the perfect blend of sensuality, steam, and erotic romance that was able to capture pure raw, emotional vulnerabilities of each of the characters. I loved that this book was about peeling layers and exposing how real the characters are. Ms. Rock was able to exposed an alpha business tycoon who loved control and had walls built up but once he had someone to share his secrets and fall in love with, you saw the real Leo Perconti. So if you are looking for a book where the sexual chemistry was brimming with so much passion and sensuality, then I highly recommend you to read At His Service. Be prepared to get lost in a book where family means everything and they will go beyond the means to protect their loved ones. I seriously can't wait for the next installment, For His Pleasure and what awaits Arianna Perconti and Jason Stone.
Leo Perconti, known by his employees as “the General” loves to give orders. When Karin finds herself trapped in the Presidential suite retrieving her co-worker’s phone, she ends up taking them, since Leo mistakes her for a party girl. She doesn’t correct Leo’s impression, at first. Then he finds out, and still loves the fantasy of his little maid. A torrid D/s affair, and some romance, happens.
The Good, The Bad and Everything In Between
The Good: Hot sex. The general idea of badass hotel owner with control issues and the ingenue certainly has its appeal. Leo is a myriad of pills for anxiety, depression, etc. which isn’t a common thing for romantic heroes. The setup is there for an interesting romance….
The Bad: Unfortunately, too often those interesting ideas get lost in Illogical plot points, which ultimately drag down the story. For example, the family is in the red. It’s stated several times that the brothers are frivolous, drunk or running around wasting money. Then the one who’s supposed to be the smart one? Leo’s spending money and more concerned about sex than the family falling apart. Karin is allegedly smart, but she runs out of a hotel wrapped in a sheet. A hotel that she knows is being watched by paparazzi. She hides in plain sight while listening to conversations. Does internet searches about BDSM at her place of business, but doesn’t close the browser. All of these little moments that all added up to my eye-rolling more than getting lost in the story.
The story also seems as if it was taken straight from the serial format, which unfortunately lead to alot of repetition, and alot of sex. While hot, it still felt overabundant, and I found myself skimming more than not.
Everything In Between: Leo and Karin have some chemistry but I struggled to see the love springing out of their affair. There’s certainly an attraction, but their encounters seemed fueled more by their libidos than any emotional connection.
The Bottom Line It was ok. I think fans of the serial format with a heavy emphasis on sex, and over the top billionaire fantasy might enjoy this more than I did.

Perconti Family To Do List: 1. Hire new corporate lawyer 2. Hire new family/divorce lawyer 3. Diverse wealth and financial portfolios (see above needs for hiring attorneys) 4. Hire hotel security and/or seek advice from aforementioned attorney about restraining orders.
I'm conflicted with what I want to say about this book. It wasn't that storyline threads were left dangling, it was more along the lines how many things didn't add up and detracted from my enjoyment of the story.
Karin's character confused me. As soon as I thought I liked her, she would fall into the TSTL category and say/do the dumbest crap while exhibiting juvenile behaviors and/or actions. She's an intern who has a cubicle, but spends almost all of her time as a housekeeper (regardless they have staffing issues, she's ALWAYS cleaning)? It's all part of her on the job practicum for getting college credits to graduate? Then she's moved up as a consultant (of what?) once she's sleeping with the owner and it seems ok with her, but doesn't really like him buying clothes for her as she feels it's trying to change who she really is. BUT she doesn't blink an eye he moves her into his penthouse suite and tells her to stay there all day and not go out. Then she's upset others see it as favoritism? She essentially became his (oblivious) mistress. By the end, she's running their whole reconstruction efforts... and still needs to graduate.
Maybe I'm not the average reader due to my background with a different perspective... but the viability and stability of this family's company was unrealistic. They need an arranged marriage (in 2015) to pump cash into the company to keep it from going bankrupt? And then after they decide to reorganize, they still need that arranged marriage? And it's still 2015? The divorce "settlement" can be lumped into this bucket of confusion as well. What kind of lawyer did this guy have (corporate and personal)? How is she still "blackmailing" more money out of him after a divorce? Maybe a little paperwork/confidentiality agreement thingy should have been looked into about their private and mental health issues? She was a very public adulterer, but her blackmail may make/break the entire family's fortune? Diverse those portfolios and 401k's people!
Random question - why was a gossip columnist repeatedly allowed onto the property, particularly at the corporate staff meeting? Restraining order - hotel security? Again, they need new legal counsel.
I did like Leo's character. He was intense and alpha, but also had some very intriguing vulnerabilities. You rarely read a male character who is working through depression, etc. This was a unique take I found very interesting.
Overall, the writing itself was good and I would be interested in trying more from Ms. Rock. The story ends with a tickle for the next book and I would be very interested in these two characters!
I received a copy of this series (as one book) through NetGalley from the publisher, St. Martin's Press, for an honest review.
This is my first time reading a book by this author and I must say it was quite enjoyable
I'm not quite sure why this series was divided in 4, I really hate when Author does that..... I got the At His Service: Parts 1-4
I couldn't put this story down. Leo has come to Boston to prepare for his sister’s wedding and save the family business. Karin is just trying to finish her internship so she can finish school and get a job. Can Leo get his family in order and keep his relationship with an employee under wraps? Tons of hot sex screens I can't wait for Arianna Perconti & Jason Stone.... Expected December 1st 2015 ..... I so happy that its going be full length novel
I was intrigued by the premise of the story, with the idea of the multimillionaire businessman (in this case hotel owner Leo) and the office worker who catches the eye of the boss (Karin). It's a fairly standard trope, but I was interested to see what the author would do to make it unique in a landscape full of similar stories.
The story started out quite well for me, with Karin helping out the housekeeping staff and getting caught in Leo's room, and mistaken for a girl sent up by his brother to 'help him relax'. Right from the start there is some definite chemistry between Karin and Leo, and the sex scenes throughout the whole story are hot and steamy, with enough originality to make them interesting.
Where the story didn't work so well for me was in the character of Karin, who came across as just a bit too naive to be believable. She just didn't have the maturity for me to believe that Leo would be interested in her for the long run. On the other hand, I quite liked Leo's character and felt a lot of empathy for him. He's trying to keep the hotel business afloat, with no help from his siblings in that regard and it's no wonder that he's a stressed out guy. I liked the way he was with Karin though, quite the dominant man in their lovemaking but also caring and concerned for her reputation.
The main conflict in the plot has to do with the staff of the hotel being rather disgruntled and wanting to strike (thus causing more problems for Leo) and the presence of paparazzi and tabloid reporters adding to the negative image of the hotel. It seemed a bit forced to me, and I didn't really feel that it was enough of a conflict to warrant the problems it causes for Karin and Leo's relationship.
Overall it was an okay read for me, and Leo's character and the hot sex scenes were its saving grace. I'm still willing to give this author another go. 3 stars.

Hot, deliciously wicked, and emotional is what I dub At His Service by Suzanne Rock. I was hooked by the end of the first chapter and devoured the novel in public, error on my part because there were some intense scenes that caused me to gasp a bit. Rock allows the reader to really get to know both Leo and Karin. It is easy to get lost in the novel's world which definitely works in Suzanne Rock's favor. My rating is a rigid 4.5 stars for the writing, the story, and the intoxicating Leo Perconti.
Leo, intoxicating and addictive, Leo. I have a lot to say about Leo. He's the one you want to save and want to have in your bed. He's all Italian passion, screwed up seven ways to Sunday, and the family burden holder. He has a wicked mouth, a dominating personality, a loyal soul, and a tender heart. There isn't much to dislike about him. Even his flaws make you sigh and make him feel real. I loved Leo and his sexy Italian speaking self.
Karin, I really enjoyed Karin. I felt her struggle and found myself connecting to her on a personal level. She is focused, hardworking, honest, passionate, and guarded. Who wouldn't be guarded when a rich man played with your heart and treated you as though you were nothing? Karin is a good fit for Leo. She is his saving grace but he is just as much as a savior to her as she is to him.
I find this novel reminds me of the Crossfire Series, the This Man Series, and the Stark International Series. Without a doubt, this is something to read. It delivers a moving plot, characters that develop through the pages, ridiculously hot sex, and an intoxicating Italian.
What I love 1. the main characters, both Leo and Karin were delightful. The chemistry is scorching heat, and the the sexy scene especially the roof part just wow.. 2. the plot start with a bang, the writing is good
The problem 1. just hate some of the secondary character. if the hero (oldest sibling) not have sense of duty and love for the family, he probably just run off to isolated island (with the heroine) or somewhere else on adventure. Only thing is they has redeem at least a bit in their character at the end. 2. the story is confusing as it continues after about 65-70%, and the end did leave me hanging.
Overall it just an ok book with the potential to be better. I still rooting the main just coz i loved them so much still, the supporting could have supported the story. 3.5 stars just for the main and starting plot.
If you like a tall dark mysterious Italian alpha man than this is the perfect book for you.
This is about Leo Perconti the oldest of 6 brothers and sisters who is called in to Boston to try and save his family’s flagship hotel that is being run by his younger brother Marco. Leo is hoping that by marrying off his younger sister Arianna to a wealthy aviation tycoon he can forge a partnership that will save the family business and fortune. Leo is also coming off a nasty divorce and has sworn off love and has asked his brothers to follow suite to help try to repair the family image. Needless to say Leo has a lot of saving to do and no one to really look out for him – so when he meets Karin Norell he is blindsided.
Karin is working as an intern at the hotel trying to balance work and school to get her hospitality degree. The hotel staff is overworked and underpaid and she ends up doing more then just looking at spreadsheets and ends up cleaning rooms when the maids call in sick. Karin and Leo meet when Leo mistakes Karin as a maid when she is forced to get his room ready for his visit. Leo has a dark side in the bedroom and shows Karin what a submissive sexual relationship looks like. Karin soon becomes more and more addicted to Leo and his dominating ways which puts them in some extremely compromising positions. Their feelings for each grow non the less and Leo finds that its ok to trust again.
I really liked Leo – he is head of a family and has taken a lot of burden on himself to try and save the family. He has been impacted by events that have taken place in his past that cause him to deal with anxiety and depression that he does have to take medication for. I appreciate the fact that even though as Leo’s relationship with Karin grows he continues to take his medication even when he feels like he is doing better. I commend Suzanne Rock for depicting that behavior throughout the book – it sends a great message that I believe is very important. I also like his brothers and sister – they are a family unit and would do anything for each other and that shows throughout the book. There is a great setup for the next book with Arianna that I am looking forward to.
To me the weak link is Karin – there were times I found her naive to the point of annoying. She is extremely smart and does have some great ideas to help Leo but then there are things she does and says that I found hard to believe. I am also confused about her back story – we as the reader only get a few glimpses of specific things for Karin while for Leo we meet members of his family and get a full picture of his story. Seemed a little lopsided to me and it was hard for me to invest in Karin like I could with Leo. I am hoping the next book will show us more of Karin since it feels like Karin and Leo’s story is a little unfinished.
Overall it’s a good story and does a great job to set up the Perconti family for the next books.

I was trying to come up with the best word to describe this book.. and the only one that keeps popping up, time and time again, is "cliche." It was the same old same old. Nothing felt new or special or exciting. And there were quite a few times I rolled my eyes so hard that I gave myself a headache. There were a few moments in the book that gave me hope, but overall, this book was nothing new and nothing special.

I received a free, advanced copy of this book in exchange for a fair review.
If you are a fan of sensual, steamy, sexy, delicious, erotic romance, look no further. At His Service Parts 1-4 is a hot and sexy read that will have you burning up your e-reader with how fast you turn the pages.
Karin is trying so hard to work hard and keep her head down to pay off her college bills and prepare for a job in the hospitality field. But once glance at her super sexy boss Leo and all her plans seem to be thrown out the window. Leo needs to work hard to save his family's hotel franchise and being distracted by the sexiest woman he's ever seen on staff is not helping. With the flagship hotel collapsing around him Leo needs Karin's ideas and assistance but what he really wants is her in his bed again. An interesting first read in the series. I did feel like it was slow at some points, I wanted to smack some characters upside the head a few times. I am interested in seeing where the other family members go with their HEA so I'll be interested in trying something else by Ms. Rock.
Back at the beginning of the year, I read the four installments that make up this book and was absolutely FLOORED with its greatness. It was no different when I read the story as novel this time around. Every single WOW and Wait, What? moment was still there, in full on color!!
Here's my review as I read it the first time around ...
Part 1: This novella, is the first of four, and it was not usual first. This packed a PUNCH and left you on the edge of your seat wanting more like YESTERDAY! Leo Perconti is the head of his family's business, a hotel conglomerate. He is totally charge of the business and making sure it stays in business. He is also VERY MUCH in control in his personal life. OH, not in control as in everything is okie dokie, oh no, he is just a very IN control person. He gives the word Alpha a new meaning! He's actually been nicknames 'The General' LOLOL Cue ..... Karin Norell, his housekeeping manager. With housekeeping all up in arms, Karin is forced to take over some of their duties when they start calling in sick and whatnot. These two couldn't be more different if they tried!! And yes, that's what makes them SO compatible and SO easy to read about! They have one night together that is absolutely scorching but Karin just doesn't fit into his world ... But Leo has no intentions of letting her go! GAH! I can't wait to read more! I think this is going to be one roller-coaster worth the ride!
Part 2: So Part 2 carries on with its awesomeness just as Part 1 did. But it way more drama! LOL Leo and Karin have done the sexy dirty fun stuff :) and Karin has done the run for your life thing. WHY you ask? Well, Karin lied to him about who she really was when they met but her finds out, which sends her running FAST! But she doesn't just run from Leo because of that, oh no, this girl has baggage, like the bad past with another CEO baggage. SO she isn't too eager to go back there any time soon. CUE .... drama drama drama (the good stuff that keeps us turning page after page just to find out what happens next!) and again I say ... Leo ain't scared, he's going after Karin! As the story progresses, we also get a lot of development from secondary characters that play a big role in the chaos that is now Leo and Karin's life! It is clear at this point that even more secrets are going to be revealed in the coming installments, which again, is very much a part of the appeal to this story! I have to take a moment also and praise Suzanne Rock for her writing ability! She's taken an old scenario of billionaire vs the help to a sensual and passionate level that I haven't read many times before. I find the undertones of this story to be unique and quite addictive. I just can't get enough of this story! I cant wait to read where this story takes Leo and Karin!
Part 3: Karin and Leo's story continues to pack a punch! The secrets and the lies are piling up faster than I can even keep up. It is intriguing and fast paced and addictive. As Karin and Leo's relationship grows, EVERYTHING else around them is crumbling. All Leo wants is to be with Karin, but life doesn't work that way. He has responsibilities. His family, his staff, the media, they ALL want a piece of him ... and he just wants Karin :) His control of all things is beginning to slip and we see this more deeply in this part of the story. There's pushing and pulling that is spiraling out of control. Karin is loosing her footing with the staff and Leo is being pulled by his family ... and their relationship is once again on rocky ground! If it's one thing you will get from this story is DRAMA DRAMA and more DRAMA. Just when you think you will read a nice quite page, WHAM ... not so much! That's my true attraction to this story. And the fact that it is told in installments, gives it that much more of an edge. You can't help but RUN for the next part. Suzanne Rock has managed to keep my interest in this story thru all 3 of these installments with her engaging prose and explosive chemistry between ALL characters, not just Leo and Karin. Yes, their sexual chemistry is the forefront, but everyone else in this story gives energy to it. It's absolutely electric and a MUST read! STAY TUNED .... It's gonna be EXPLOSIVE :)
Part 4: This is the conclusion of Leo and Karin's struggle for love ...
This installment picks up exactly where Part 3 left off. Karin and Leo are once again not together for the good of everyone else but themselves. Leo's family, from every corner of the world it seems, has come to town and the hotel in anticipation of the upcoming wedding of Arianna and Landon. Nothing can go wrong right now. This is the moment they have all been waiting for. The merger of all mergers. Cue, the ex-wife! As I write this, I'm shaking my head and laughing a little. Because when this actually happened I found myself screaming to an empty room .. "C"MON PEOPLE"! (lol) We FINALLY get the full story on why Leo is what he is and why his actions are what they are. AND, we DO get our HEA with Karin manning up and going after her man! And get her man she does!
I cannot say it enough ... This story was a roller-coaster of goodness! It had a lot of eye-rolling moments with its predictability, but it was GOOD! Well written and thought out. The pieces all fit! And .... Leo and Karin's story may have reached its HEA, but this series is far from over :) #TRUST

**This review is for a DNF**
I really hate not finishing a book. It feels so mean, like I'm saying something bad about the author by not finishing. So to be clear, the writing was just fine. My problem was that I hated the characters and I felt like I wouldn't be able to get over it.
First, let me start by saying that the Sexy Time was really hot! Leo, the hero, was a Dom. I'm not sure if he's really experienced or not. He SEEMS like he's experienced. But maybe I didn't get far enough in the novel to really figure it out. Karin, the heroine, is a submissive but doesn't know it. A series of screw-ups leads to an encounter between Karin and Leo which is where she discovers her submissive nature. Anyway, I only made it to around 40% of the book and there had already been a couple of sex scenes and they were seriously hot. So I have no doubt that if I had continued with the book, the sex would have continued getting hotter.
I guess my main problem with the book ended up being Karin. I truly felt that she was Too Stupid To Live. There were TWO separate occasions within that 40% where she runs out of a room, into an elevator and down into the lobby and beyond when she's either mostly nude or half dressed. What the heck? Nevermind the fact that she's running around in public undressed. She KNOWS that the paparazzi are around, waiting to get a juicy tidbit on Leo and/or his brothers. And she runs out the front damn door, wrapped in only a sheet, crying like a lunatic and then has the audacity to be surprised that anyone noticed! Worse, she has her clothes in her hand! Ya didn't want to stop in the lobby restroom and put something on? I mean, seriously, I can't imagine anyone acting like that. At all.
Leo was a little better, but only a little. Sure, he was sexy and commanding and I'm sure he would have gotten better as the book progressed and I really wanted to like him. But at the point where I quit reading, Leo had just been making out with Karin outside a restaurant just a few feet from where a group of paparazzi were waiting for him. And yes, he had seen them before they started. He went through his adult life avoiding the paparazzi, trying to steer clear of scandal and he's going to blithely make out with a hotel maid in full view of them? Not to mention that the restaurant is owned by his brother's ex-girlfriend. Ugh. It was just one stupid thing too many.
Overall, there were just way too many cliches for me to handle. Worn out ones, like hiding behind a couch or a door while listening to a conversation only to get discovered, leaving behind a cell phone with incriminating evidence on it, searching sex terms on a work computer and leaving the web browser on that page and only minimizing the window instead of closing the browser like a SMART, normal person would. All of those things, combined with the heroine being so stupid that it should have a special classification as a disability, made me start to hate the characters and hate the book. I didn't even get a chance to talk about how Leo's brother's excesses are bankrupting their company and he's done very little about it. If you only need ridiculous antics, unbelievable idiocy, and hot sex to enjoy a book, give this one a chance. If not, I would skip this one.

At His Service is the first novel in the Playboys of Boston series by Suzanne Rock and was originally released as a four-part serial, which I read a few months back. For this review, I decided to re-read the whole thing, just to make sure my feelings hadn't changed about it. While I still had the same moments of frustration with regards to certain choices that both Karin Norell and Leo Peconti made in the book, I could see that there really was a connection between the two of them, though I'm still wondering if it really was love or something more basic. Karin is smart, but the girl tends to let her heart rule over her head and that may not necessarily be a bad thing, but if it's what you tend to do all the time, you're bound to end up getting hurt. Leo has a lot on his plate, what with the family business in decline and his own deep, dark secrets, so I couldn't help but think that he saw Karin as more of a delectable distraction for him than an actual potential life partner for most of the story, but, of course, that's just from my viewpoint.
I would have honestly wished Karin were a stronger heroine, someone with a bit more backbone and had a more self-respect, especially after Leo's shabby treatment of her later in the story. Yes, even after reading the story a second time, I still find myself very pissed by what he did AND the fact that she was so accepting of it all by the time everything was said and done. For someone who is supposedly intelligent, she's made quite a lot of idiotic decisions in her young life. I will say, though, that I did enjoy the first half of the book, especially as they were discovering things about one another in the bedroom while still trying to keep their respective sets of secrets quiet. This wasn't a terrible story, just one that had lead character I couldn't really empathize with and it gets even more frustrating when it happens to be the female lead character. I am, however, curious about Leo's sister, Arianna, and what looks like more than a mere hookup with none other than Jason Stone. Book two, maybe? At His Service gets 3.5 stars, rounded off to four stars. ♥
Having first been privy to this book as a serial novella, I must admit, this is a story best left whole.
The Cinderella-esque take on the whole billionaire vs. ingenue trope is one designed to keep one reading. The added factors of threat of discovery by both the media co-workers, and other members of the Perconti family; the juxtaposition their their employee to employer statuses against those of their burgeoning personal entanglements, and the powder keg of employee unrest among the lower staff, are all factors which are a serious draw for readers of erotica.
Leading man, Leo Perconti's intense and often times obsessive nature can be a little over the top. Thus requiring a bit of an adjustment period for the reader. Luckily, Karin proves that she is not one to be bullied, blackmailed, or cornered by either his temperamental outbursts or his stoney silence.
The erotic interplay between Leo and Karin achieves just the right balance between truly erotic, and too much too soon for the middle class masses to which it is marketed. The fact that the emotional bond between the two lovers is allowed to escalate, just as the eroticism does, is a sure fire win/win in the drama department. This is a very necessary aid for a relatively flat performance story-wide, on the part of other parties.
As stated earlier, the down-sides of this read lie in the moments which do not concern themselves with Karin and Leo. Those moments having instead to do with some other Perconti or a friend or acquaintance of Karin perhaps. Instead of the sharp-edged technicolor view that we are given the privilege of in terms of all things Leo and Karin. We find ourselves lost in a sea of impressionistic water colors, which only hint at a picture that we are never fully allowed to see.
At His Service is a captivating exploration of love, sex, desire, and power, sure to make even the most hardened cynic believe in billionaire princes and passion filled 'happily ever afters'.
Karin Norell has been burned by her ex-boyfriend. All she wants to do now is focus on her career in the hotel industry. At work at a prestigious hotel called "The Palazzo," Karin is ALL about work, not men.
Karin is asked to clean up the Penthouse suite as one of the big owners that the staff calls the General is scheduled to arrive that evening. Karin has heard rumors that he has no compassion and is all about business unlike brothers.
Karin is almost finished cleaning up the Penthouse suite with her co-worker Wes. Just as they are about to leave, Wes forgets his cell phone and asks Karin to go back and grab it. Just as she is about to grab the phone and run, in walks Leo Perconti "The General." Karin is now trapped and must hide in hopes that Leo does not catch her. She must escape without being caught!
Karin is going to be seduced by the gorgeous Italian Leo Perconti, and learning that submitting to a man is not all that bad when you find the right man. Karin is worried that Leo might be like her ex-boyfriend and that he just using her for a fling. Will Karin let sex and passion interfere with her job and everything that she has worked so hard for? Will she forget what really matters in her life? Find out if Karin will put aside her feelings for Leo and focus on her career in the hotel industry.
Lies, Secrets, and explosive passion will light up the pages of Suzzane Rocks novel "At His Service." Leo and Karin work so well together as they both need each other in every way possible. Be that for sex or support. I love how Karin was able to help Leo be a better man and how Leo was able to help Karin find her inner submissive and confidence. This is a great book with lots of twists and turns. Also the epilogue will blow your mind, I so did not see it coming, WOW!
At His Service was originally released as a four part serial, but I read this edition which is the complete story. I really enjoyed this book, it kept my interest from start to finish. The hero, Leo, is just yummy. He's a rich, alpha male who's famous for his ferocious temper. But inside he's like a big fluffy marshmallow! He is devoted to his family and puts everyone's needs above his own. His hotel chain is in big financial trouble, his siblings are running riot and he has the weight of the world on his shoulders. The only person who makes him feel whole and sane is the company's intern, Karin, but she tries to resist him as she is afraid of her colleagues finding out she's involved with the boss! But she can't resist him for long, especially when he shows her the pleasures to be had when she submits to him,
Karin is a lovely character - she's smart, kind, sometimes sassy, and she always tries to do the right thing. She is an absolute rock for Leo. She supports him through family problems and is by his side when his business troubles become serious. Leo is a flawed character, but Karin helps him and brings out the best in him. It's not all one sided though, Leo helps Karen to grow as a woman and to have confidence in her abilities. The chemistry between them sizzles, these two are definitely meant to be together. Their are some very erotic scenes in this book and they were very well written.
Suzanne Rock is a new author to me, but I would definitely read more of her books. This series is intriguing and I'm looking forward to the next book which I believe is Leo's sister's story. At His Service is an enjoyable, sexy read and it gets four out of five stars.
I received a copy of this book in exchange for a honest review.
I received this book as an ARC from Net Galley for my honest review!
This book was so hot it was explosive!!
Leo Perconti shows up in Boston to handle business and he is willing to do anything to save his family's hotel empire. After a heated argument with his brother he is extremely stressed and his brother decides to send him up some entertainment to help him relax. Leo planned to send whoever his brother sent in away but when he set eyes on his sexy mysterious lady he couldn't let her slip away..
Karin is an intern at the Perconti family hotel and is used to being a jack of all trades. So on a day when she should be at her desk she is forced to go and clean the penthouse suite for none other than Leo Perconti.
Her plan is to get in and out before he comes in, but that plan is ruined when something that cant be found by the boss is left in the room. Knowing she can not leave it behind she sneaks back in while the Perconti brothers are arguing and waits until the coast is clear to get it ....but ends up finding more than she could have ever dreamed of!
This book was so good; I simply could not put it down! It is the classic story where you know someone's heart is going to get broken but you cant help but to read it and see exactly how it is going to go down. If you read this book you will laugh, possibly cry but in the end you will definitely be entertained. Great book, I need the next book ASAP because that one is going to really shake things up!
Received a copy though NetGalley in exchange for a honest review. I was captivated by this fast paced Steamy Sizzling Hot read that is full of delicious desires and passionate play. I couldn't put this story down. Karin Norell is finishing her hospitality degree at the Ritzy Boston Palazzo. The Palazzo is owned and managed by the Perconti Family. A wealthy family with a chain of prestigious properties. Although Karin is usually behind a desk doing data entry today she has been pulled and sent to clean up the penthouse suite since most of the staff called in sick and today they are expecting Leo Perconti to arrive at the Palazzo. Karin is stuck in the penthouse when he arrives and is mistaken as someone else and oh what a wonderful mistake it is. As Karin tries to stay out of Leo's sight, Leo cannot think of anything but her and the way she responds to him. You will not be able to get enough of the Perconti Passion as well as the seductive Leo and you will want to beg like Karin does for more. But when the staff of the Palazzo and reporters start causing some trouble for their relationship and although they try to keep everything under wraps there are some secrets that are revealed and you will not believe what happens. So much going on in this story. If you like passionate reads you need to get this story the start of the Perconti series. Loved it.
At His Service by Suzanne Rock enters the glittering world of the Palazzo Hotel. As the eldest brother, Leo Perconti is the head of the Perconti family’s hotel business. With his siblings spiraling out of control, Leo is left to deal with the business that is crumbling around them. In the midst of this havoc, Leo meets hotel intern Karin Norell. Karin is a quiet, unassuming young woman just trying to gain experience for her degree. She gets swept up by Leo’s commanding presence right from the start.
At His Service just kind of missed for me. In trying to come up with a helpful critique I was trying to put my finger on why it didn’t work for me. I think I just wasn’t in love with Leo and Karin. There were some seriously hot scenes between the two of them, but he was definitely not a strong enough alpha male for me. He kept whining about the media and how they have effectively ruined his life. Karin was way too meek at times and I found myself being annoyed by her. That being said, I did enjoy the world of the Palazzo that Ms. Rock created. I loved the secondary characters…Wes, Sabrina and the other Perconti siblings. Despite this book not quite working for me, I am looking forward to reading more about Arianna in the next book and seeing what she get up to!
*I received an advanced copy of this book in exchange for my honest review*
Karin Norell is an extremely hardworking intern at what was once one of the most prestigious hotel empires in the world. The Palazzo Hotel, owned by the Perconti family, has taken it's share of hits as the siblings waste money and personally and tighten the purse-strings at Perconti Inc, to the detriment of the businesses. Leo Perconti, known as The General to the employees and paparazzi, has come into town to check up on his brother and the hotel. When he mistakes Karin for a "gift" his brother offered to send to his room, their connection is instant and hot, and is the beginning to a torrid love affair between the two.
The Perconti family is given even more paparazzi attention than the Hiltons as the siblings are young, gorgeous, and rich, but their businesses aren't doing well. Karin has great ideas, and Leo is smart enough to listen. I enjoyed the chemistry between Karin and Leo, and his nickname is well earned with his alpha tendencies. There were some tender moments between the leads, but in the end there were so many sexytimes (which I typically love!) that the storytelling wasn't moving along the way I needed to make me feel more connected to the characters. There were so many interesting directions to go in, and apparently we have not heard the last of the Perconti family.
This was such a great novel! I loved Leo and Karin's relationship and the whole Perconti gang. As different as Leo and Karin were they meshed well together. Suzanne Rock created such an outstanding novel.
Leo is the head owner of a chain of hotels that he runs with his brother Marco. He goes to the flagship hotel to get things prepared for his sister's wedding. While there he sees Karin and assumes she is their for pleasure. Unbeknowing to him, she is a staff member. Karin not once stops to tell him the truth until it's too late and runs away. That begins a cat and mouse chase between the two.
I love how they tried to fight their feelings for each other and even in the midst of all the craziness around them in their personal lives, within the job and with their ex's they manage to come together mentally, physically and business wise.
Danika is a ruthless bitch and Jason Stone is a heartless bastard. I'm glad they broke Leo and Karin's heart because it lead these two brokenhearted people to something special.
My mind is blown at the end when Arianna runs and falls in love with Karin's ex -- OMG, I need to read For His Pleasure like now!
We begin when Leo goes to the family hotel to get things in order for his sisters wedding and more. Leo encounter Karin in his room believing she is a woman his brother sent up to help relieve some stress (which she is not) but she allows him to believe this since he is hot and she also is in need of some relief. The problem begins when he pushes her limits and she has trouble facing what it all means. As the story builds so does the heat. Leo takes Karin to new heights with his dominance and she is unable to resist. The only problem I have at this point of the story is the over use of certain phrases yet I find my self hooked. As we learn the backstory of Leo and his family things reach a peak and my hate for Gloria is beyond healthy. I found myself in need of some of Leo's anxiety meds by the third part of this book. Their relationship has been hit like a tsunami and now we are left hoping these two can pick up the pieces and rebuild themselves. These book had it's wtf moments but we get all the answers we need and I can feel a spinoff coming our way. Afterall there are still secrets to reveal and siblings stories to explore. I would definitely recommend this book. The author has spun a web that will have you in her clutches and wanting more.
Leo Perconti is a dominant Alpha male who has been his family's rock. He shoulders all the responsibilities of the family's empire and the burdens. As the family spirals out of control, he is in despair. Until he meets a "little maid" who awakens his desires. She brings him back to life with her desire and her caring, but she's an employee of his hotel. Nothing good will come of this! Leo is possessive and powerful. He wants Karin and he will have her. I liked the potent mixture of passion and tenderness. Karin has always followed the rules. She works hard and keeps her head down. Can she keep her wits about her as she enters a new world filled with erotic passion? They are addicted to each other. Their chemistry is powerful. As the paparazzi circle, can they weather the storm? Suzanne Rock has created characters that are charming, gutsy and flawed. They have their secrets. This makes for a powerful and entertaining story. At His Service had a hero and heroine that I cared about. I wanted them to overcome the obstacles and be together. The glamour setting provided the perfect background. This family drama was addictive and had secondary characters that added intrigue to the story. I enjoyed it. Just be aware that At His Service is sexually explicit.
At His Service by Suzanne Rock is the first book that I have read from this author and I must say that I found this book very interesting. Nothing like a sexy, steamy, erotic romance to keep you involved. Karin is a young intern working at the hotel that is currently understaffed. Leo Perconti is the eldest sibling of the Perconti Enterprise. When everyone calls in sick she is required to pitch in and clean the penthouse suite at the last minute before the 'Boss' [Leo Perconti] arrives. Well Leo arrives unexpectedly and Karin gets trapped in penthouse. She hides in the bathroom and when she attempts to leave Leo sees her and thinks she is a friend of his brother and is there to show him a good time but, it was far from the truth. Leo starts making demands and after watching him undress and get into the tub, she is all flustered and obeys his demands. Karin knows it isn't right as Leo is her boss but, she can't seem to stay away. When there is a media frenzy because the under paid staff goes on strike and Leo's ex-wife is blackmailing him. Karin comes up with a plan to save the hotel. If you want to know the whole story, you will need to get the book.
At His Service: A Playboys of Boston Novel by Suzanne Rock ** I received a copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review ** Loved the main characters of Leo and Karin. Could not put my Kindle down once I started reading. Fast pasted, intriguing and, at times, very steamy and somewhat humorous. Leo finds himself unable to stay away from Karin and things heat up. We also get to know some of the secondary characters better creating a more well-rounded story. Things are heating up with the story becoming much more intense and passionate. I Absolutely loved this book! It could not have ended better if I had written it myself. Leo and Karin become great partners and bring out the best in each other. I hope Ms. Rock will continue to write about the Perconti family and their loves.
This was my first Suzanne Rock read and I quite enjoyed it! The first and last installments of At His Service were definitely my favorite. I enjoyed the characters, and I definitely can't wait for what I'm assuming will be the next book to follow in this world after this.
I loved the characters in At His Service - Karin really develops a lot throughout this one, and I found myself really enjoying the secondary characters as well. Wes and Sabrina were great.
The storyline was an interesting one - I liked the plot alongside the romance between Karin and Leo. And there are what I would like to think some great stories to come in this world! Highly satisfying read from Suzanne Rock!
