After having destroyed the world, Adisia wakes up unaware and disturbed by the sense she's forgetting something. The problem is, she's replaying everything... just in a different way. As soon as her mind catches up and brings her back to the danger still after them, several new disasters occur, each leading Devin to worry about the safety of his only love. With time against them, no one is willing to risk a repeat of the last encounter they had with Safina.
Everyone goes all in to prepare, but will it be enough this time? Along the way, Adisia still struggles with her inability to trust the man she loves. It only gets worse in the small world of immortals where Devin is a known womanizer. Then comes a new face, one claiming Adisia is destined to be his, causing Devin's jealousy to surface for a change.
Love's never easy for an Aphrodite, cursed by beauty, destroyed by the ones she trusts the most.
I feel a bit cheated, did I just have de ja vu? wasn't this exactly the same as the last book???? I love C. M. Owens other works if I didn't this would have been a 2 star......
Devin and Adisia meet again, do the dance with no pants again.......
Meets the gang again
And another crazy ex of Devin's who tries to kill her again
Devin and Adisia kind of break up, again
Try to make the other jealous by flirting with other people in skimpy swimwear, whilst hiding out from the baddies...... Again
Adisia discovers she is all powerful again
Gets back together with Devin again
Smirks, chuckles, sniggers and eye rolls all them time
Always getting interrupted again and again and again
and they defeat the baddie... Kind of again
" I giggle lightly under the adoring eyes I've loved for so long."
They have been together less than a month at this point..... A bit OTT and immature
I think the characters needed to be in high school not fully fledged adults with responsibilities.... Seems like they are still living with their parents in student housing, not immortals or mortals who are nearly 30! I did enjoy the first book but no one has matured or learned from mistakes, just making it all the more aggravating just wash rinse dry repeat.........
Like I said I'm being generous with the 3 stars as I love all her other stuff and the first book. I did enjoy this but like I said at the end I was just like...OK I have already read this....
That was one helluva cliff hanger! I loved where the first book to this Trilogy was going so of course I jumped right into reading this second installment. I am in love with this couple! Adisia and Devin make the ultimate power couple with their Greek mythology ancestors powers within them. I was heartbroken at the end of book one , so when the time rewind happened I freaked out! I was thinking, there is no way it ends like this! They can’t all die! wtf! This book really brought it ! Ultimate mix of steamy passion, evil foes and bitter ex’s ! I could not put this book down! The action just keeps right on going !
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
This second book is basically a twins of the first book with a few differences. I liked this one better because I thought the MCs in the first book were a bit annoying. I hated how the girl Adisia kept going back to Devin even though he kept hurting her. In this book she was still annoying, but not as much as the first book. It looks like there is a third and final book, but I may take a break before reading it.
Brilliant second part of the trilogy. So much action and romance. Adisia showed her badass self, I just wish her insecurities didn’t inflict so much drama.
By the end of this review you will probably ask 'Why did you finish it if all you do is moan?' To be quite honest - I really don't know! I mean, why do we pick at scabs, or stare at the paramedics working on someone on the side of the road? We just do!
And as much as I hate to admit it, I kinda liked this.
At the end of Daughter of Aphrodite, Adisia Titan learns that she has not one, but two entities living inside her. One being Aphrodite, the other, Asteria. It's an unstable mix that can only be tempered by her lover, Devin Cole. That is until the unthinkable happens. Then she decides to wipe out everything and start again. Everyone is "rewound" back in time and have lost their memory.
Okay, I can dig that. But then, the opening chapters of Daughter of Asteria are a rehash of the first book. One or two things are tweaked, so there's some flavor. However, by the third chapter I started banging my head against my pillow.
Now this is where I rant. Just to keep track of everything I'm going to bullet point my peeves.
• this book is in bad need of proper editing. • the words seduced and seduction are on extreme over kill. • how exactly do you 'his lips pulled my lips' - I kid you not, it's in there! • expect me to take the heroine seriously when she is carried around bridal style by every single male in this book. • why must everyone, besides Devin's ex's and the enemies, be in love with Adisia? • base the fate of the world on the libido of an emotionally disturbed couple (OK, yea, that worked for me) • Devin controls Adisia with sex. • all the ex's of the h and H want to kill the heroine. • no one really teaches Adisia how to gain some kind of control over her powers. • the entities abandon the humans. • and century old beings who behave like young twenty something year olds!
But what really frustrated me was the characters never really evolved. Besides the introduction of Jace, it's the same drama, with the same people.
No you are not reading the same book as before. Yes this is something I considered the first time I read it. Honestly the plot twist at the end of book 1 set this one up great.
The problems in the first book are definitely made worse in the second book. Adisia and Devin’s relationship is immature and there is constant miscommunication on both ends.
However the plot is still great. This is fast paced and seems to have so much packed into a short book. This is a great transition novel and really sets the finale up perfectly.
After reading this book at least a dozen times (twice a year), I still love it! Devon continues to be dedicated and completely in love with Adisia, giving her the world. Can’t help but sigh. Great characters, even the villains are awesomely arrogant and condescending, some of the heroes as well. About to read the final book, for my annual fix. Biggest gripe * I wish these were audiobooks*
I really like this series but I am getting a little tired of the insecurity of Adisia. She is very childish sometimes. You would think she would grow up with everything that is happening. I also find it annoying that her and Devin can find the time for sex no matter what they're going through. I am loving all the friends and family members though. I am not as happy with this story as the first one. However, I will read the final book because I am already committed. I hope it's better than this one.
The story started with a series of events that we’ve already learnt from the first book. The knowledge which Adisia acquired from the past event thought would give the team an upper hand because they would know what to expect.
However, history didn’t play out exactly as it was before the rewind. New allies, enemies, and power had shaped the story in a different direction. Adisia also had to overcome her fear to ensure victory.
I would have thought that after the first book, the trust issue would not be a problem anymore. But, jealousy still on the card for the couple and I was slightly disappointed with Adisia and Devin for being immature.
The information provided in the last chapter had also given us an insight into what's next to come, and I couldn't wait to read the final book to find out how the story would play out. Devin or Jace? What's Jace role and the meaning behind his mother's vision? Who's the villain?
Our Aphrodite is becoming much more than anyone expected. Can she save their world? Can she stop the threat? Will she get her man? Will she be able to get drunk? How about a tattoo? No spoilers here... Just praise for well constructed characters and a world that is interesting and surprising. Definitely worth reading.
So much happening... The fighting, the moving even the romance ...At some point it was hard to keep up . But that said , I loved it. One girl with so much power! It amazes me how she still lives.
I was very scared that we were going to have to go through everything all over again but apart from the very beginning, nothing happened as it did before, thankfully!!!
In this version, Adisia is mortal for so much longer and they try to go with a different strategy but the end result is the same, she saves the day!! Go Adisia, she is really a badass :) Devin and her still have their incredible passion but with their fiery temperament, misunderstanding and fights still happen, making their making up all the more explosive.
We learn an few interesting and VERY surprising facts, meet a lot of new characters and discover new and impossible powers. Can't wait to read the grand final!!
I was so impatient to get through the first bit, realizing it was a rewind and wanting to see how it all gets fixed. It was all suspenseful waiting for her immortality to re-emerge. The lovers quarrel and triangle had me worried for awhile as well. And everything that happened after was just as amazing. I love her strength and bravery, and I love his devotion to her. They really are meant to be. My interest is peaked with this new threat and I can't wait to see what happens in book 3!!
This was a great follow-up to the first book in this trilogy. While the re-start was somewhat confusing at first, the story-line soon caught up. The only complaint I have is, I thought Deidre and Theia were the same person all along, and perhaps that was my own fault for not reading properly...but I don't think it was clear. Can't wait to finish the third one and see how it all ends.
One little annoyance I have is..."he seduces." "I seduce." I could have seen less of that.
Love this series... The theme of the book is interesting and kept me up late, reading just one more page... The only negative comment I have is there were many grammatical errors and typos, but I'm not a grammar nazi so it didn't bother me, but if your a reader who this will bother than disregard my 5 star rating and read with caution. In my opinion the characters and plot of the book compensate greatly for the many typos.
OK so at first I was confused cause it starts out almost the same as the first but u quickly realize some differences. I loved the new characters. You just can't help but like Jace. I mean who doesn't love an Australian. Just like all her other books there is action, drama, and sexy romance. Was not disappointed.
These books are amazing!! I was the kid that never liked to read at all. I picked up theses books and it's a miracle! I absolutely love these books when I sleep I dream about these books and what could happen next, I've never had a book pick at my mind and make me wonder so much is like I'm addicted!!
I love these books, love the story, HATE Aphrodisia. If she wasn't a whiny, insecure, immature bitch I would really enjoy this series 100%. She ruins it for me. But I still hold out hope when she stops being crazy. Then I keep staying sucked in, then she acts RIDICULOUS and I just want to slap some sense into her.
This is a re-read for me. I definitely keeping enjoying this story. This is the 2nd book in the trilogy. If you love stories pertaining to Greek mythology and mix in a little supernatural element, you will definitely want to read this one.
Adisia is so infuriating with her insecurities. She acts very immature a lot of the time. Other than that, the plot was good and the book was very enjoyable. The lack of editing is what holds this series back from being a fantastic read.
I loved this story; you could feel their fear, sorrow, pleasure, their love for one another and you just keep waiting for more. It's keeps you on toes and you just want to know what happen next. I'm so looking forward to reading the next one.
I've read this book twice and each time I get just as excited. I will not give out spoilers, I will simply say it's worth the read. You won't regret buying this series if you've read the first book.
