There are trials and tribulations that come from being a Paladin. Having aliens abduct and torture you is one of them, but every affliction comes with an opportunity. Aliens can travel through dimensions. I hijacked a saucer and escaped Earth to a dimension controlled by ancient Egyptian Gods. Finally, I am free of Jehovah. Finally, I can be my own man.
The first book Hero's Curse left me wanting to read Mythic Hero and after reading Mythic Hero I was slightly annoyed. The main character made me laugh and nod my head in agreement and believable, whereas two or three of the supporting characters were so unbelievable I did not look forward to seeing them again. The book was creative yet not really original. The ending was anti-climatic but loved how the main character got screwed at the end, not the typically fair tale ending.
Yet another good book in the series... I enjoyed it, though I'd have to admit, it wasn't as good as Hero's Curse, and the ending felt....rather rushed and anticlimactic. However, I loved the way our our main protagonist was screwed over at the end... All in all, it was fun and enjoyable, but no great feat of literature. If you are looking for high quality fantasy, this is not it. But if you want to enjoy yourself while reading a good book...this series does provide that opportunity :)
