“You’re too big a part of my life to be my little anything. You’re my everything.”

Olympic gold medallists skiers Jayla Stone and Rush Remington had been best of friends since they were young, and it was only at some point where Jack gave him a talk when he finally saw the light...

some_text

They have known each other’s quirks, strengths, and weaknesses, even their darkest secrets. But there is something that Rush kept to himself, he was trying to find the right time to tell her. After months of thinking, he realizes that filling his bed with different kinds of women doesn’t make him complete. There was still that void inside of him that needed to be filled. He starts to changed his womanizing way, and he realized that the only woman who can make him feel complete is right beside him all along – now he just needed the perfect time to tell her what he feels...

some_text

But of course, Jayla was dating a prick, she was keeping a devastating secret from him, and of course, she was confuse whether to cross the friend zone or not. They had always been together during trainings, and Rush didn’t want women during these times to avoid losing focus. It didn’t stop Rush from finally telling her, he had waited for so long, he couldn’t wait much longer. She needed to hear it from him.

some_text

One toe-curling kiss turned both their worlds around and changes everything between the both of them. Jayla was worried about his past, and Rush was worried about her secret that might affect her future. Her secret could both jeopardize not just her career but her newfound relationship with Rush. Would their love be enough to surpass it all?

I love their friendship and the value they put into it. No one could blame Jay for being careful with regards on how they should proceed with their relationship, and keeping her secret. She was scared, because being a skier is all she had ever wanted in her life. But Rush, his effort had not been put to waste. He would do just about anything for Jayla. He was threading carefully in their newfound relationship, but he was doing well. He gives her advice not just as a boyfriend but as a fellow competitor and skier. He knew how strong Jayla was, and how much she loved the sport. I was just glad he knew where to put his limits and give some ultimatums. As for Jayla – this strong, amazing girl sometimes surprises me, annoys me and frustrates me. But at the same time, she makes one big decision at the near-end of the novel that made me want to applaud her.

This is the second to the last Remington who’s about to say goodbye to his bachelorhood, and embrace a relationship that has been long-overdue. One of the strongest foundation of a relationship would always be friendship, and nothing beats being with your best friend. Sure, it will scare the heck of you when you are about to cross that thin line – but the rewards would be worth it.

“Kissing you was better than winning the Olympics.”

Another great love story from Melissa Foster. I love that she gives most of her characters a back story so we can dive right into the romance without questioning the insta-love.

Slope of Love is Rush's story in the Remington Saga. He's been fixing his womanizing ways and has realized that his best friend Jayla is the missing piece. Jayla has been in love with Rush for 15 years, but given his dating past she's kept it to herself, as she'd rather be his friend than one of the many he's f*cked and forgotten. Meanwhile, Jayla's skiing career is in jeopardy due to a shoulder injury that she's hiding from her coach, her team, Rush, and really from herself. Their chemistry is great. There were moments I wanted to smack Jayla upside the head, but if the characters always did what you wanted them to it wouldn't make for a very interesting book, right?

My only slight complaint is the age difference. 32/28 isn't a big deal, of course, but when you think about their start as bffs at 17/13 it seems a little awkward. What 17 year old guy is gonna spend all his time with a 13yo girl? it kinda borders on inappropriate. It makes her childhood crush that much more believable; and perhaps the age difference was to help embed the idea that he really never thought of her 'in that way' at the start. But it still felt awkward.

Overall Rating: 4.5 Rockin’ ★★★★☆

Rush and Jayla have been friends for fifteen years since they meet at ski camp as teenagers. The love of skiing and completion through the years only made their bond stronger. Jayla had loved Rush from the day she meet him at the age of thirteen but he had only looked at her as a BFF. She had always been there for him, listening to all of his escapades with other women. However this year seemed different…Rush seemed different.

Rush had planned on revealing to Jayla that he finally realized he was truly, madly, and infuriatingly in love with her.

Rush had looked forward to this time with Jayla teaching at a volunteer ski camp for teens and training for the final competition of the season. When Jayla shows up with a boyfriend, he has to ask himself is he too late. Has Jayla moved on without him? Rush is relieved when Jayla breaks up with Marcus and he has the chance to show her that he has changed.

Her comment about his conquests nagged at him-and pissed him off. He needed to tell her how he’d changed, and damn it, he needed to tell her why he’d changed.

One kiss changes everything between Jayla and Rush. He can no longer deny the feeling he has for her and she is hesitant to believe that he has really changed. If she opens up her heart to him and he walks away it will destroy her. She will lose her best friend.

“I know you think our friendship is a reason, but I see it as a foundation for so much more…The truth was, he didn’t know how to be just friends with Jayla now that he’d opened his heart to her.

For fifteen years they had always told each other everything. Jayla is keeping a secret from him about her shoulder injury. She is afraid that her injury will be the end of competitive skiing. Rush tells her that it will not matter to him because he knows who she is!

Was she being stubborn and stupid? She loved him. Oh, how she loved him.

Jayla and Rush will have to face the truth about how they really feel and decide if there is a future for them as a couple.

Would I read other books by this author: Yes! I have yet to read one of this author’s books and been disappointed. I look forward to reading her next effort.

Rush and Jayla. Competitive skiers and friends for over 15 years. Jayla knows Rush past his ladies man, love them and leave them reputation, and Rush knows Jayla better than any one of the women he’s ever dated. It’s what friends do. Until they realize that the friendship has developed into the basis for something else.

Melissa Foster guides us through the unfolding love affair of friends becoming lovers for life as it unfolds between two friends. We get to share every moment of unfounded fears, unreasonable secrets, and untamed passion while tatted Remington Rush retires his playboy ways to capture the heart of his friend and soul mate, athletically sexy Jayla.

There are great moments in this book, just as in the rest of this series, that come together to make an excellent love story. Each one of the stories from Foster are unique, and also comfortable to fans and followers because of the familiarity of characters.

In Slope of Love, the Bradens, Remingtons and Snow Sisters play supporting roles, and if you’re a Foster fan, that’s an extra treat to an already decadent offering.

Rush is a Remington, born with that good ol sexy, even though it's not as outwardly macho as the guys we’ve met thus far. This characters shows the versatility in Fosters writing, because he’s still able to be a dominant male figure without as much machismo as the already introduced hot hunks in the series.

I’m really not going to tell you a lot about the story line, because I don’t think I can do it without giving away some of the best parts of the book, and thereby spoiling what kept me intrigued! Suffice it to say, this series is still a winner.

For me, opening a book by Melissa Foster is like uncorking a bottle of fine wine; it's a pleasure whilst being devoured and once finished the taste lingers, leaving only happy feelings!
Slope of Love is another triumph by the author of The Remingtons series and though we are now four books in, the dramatic love lives of this family are still as engaging as ever. In previous books, Olympic skier Rush Remington has been portrayed with a certain sense of arrogance, but this installment allows the reader to explore the personality of the man underneath the athlete and though he isn't my favourite of the siblings I certainly wouldn't mind him as a friend!
Slope of Love differs in that Rush and his love-interest Jayla do not meet as part of the story; they have been best friends for fifteen years, competing together and sharing each other's secrets. Instead the plot is concerned with the evolution of their friendship and how it impacts upon their lives as professional sportspeople. Jayla is like Melissa Foster 's other leading women; strong, focused, witty and loving. Her commitment to skiing is unwavering, at the risk of her own health, yet through Jayla's relationship with Rush the reader is able to understand her insecurities and we are able to empathize.
Melissa Foster again weaves the stories of the protagonists with characters we are familiar with from her other novels, plus new intriguing family members, like Jace, who I would love to read a book about!
This is a must read for fans of The Remingtons or Bradens and any individuals who love a perfect contemporary romance!

I love this Remington's!!! I seriously can not get enough of them. I kinda wish I was part of this hot family. Slope of Love centers around Rush who is an Olympic skier. He is at a ski lodge with his teammates, getting ready for a smaller competition and teaching kids how to ski.
While at the lodge, he puts his plan into motion to let his best friend and teammate of 15 years know he is giving up his man whore ways and it ready to settle down. He is in love with Jayla Stone and wants a relationship.
Jayla is a walking mess. She has a jerky boyfriend (soon to be ex), a bad injury she doesn't want anyone to know about (because she doesn't want to give up competing) and onto of all that, she is secretly in love with Rush (and has been for years!). The only thing that is truly holding her back, is that she doesn't want to lose their friendship if things don't work out.

Rush decided he needs to show Jayla how serious he is about giving this relationship a chance!
It is hard for Rush, because since him and Jayla have been friends they entire life, he knows his past and it seems to he biting him in the butt every chance it can. Rush is having a hard time convince Jayla this is real.
As with the whole Remington series, I loved this book. I loved these characters. And I love Melissa Foster's writing. I can't wait for the next one. I don't want this series to end!!

Rush and Jayla, both competitive skiers, have been best friends for years. But when Rush realizes that his feelings for Jayla have changed and sharing his bed with random women is no longer what he desires, he knows that he needs to confess his feelings to her. But as his best friend, she also knows Rush’s history with women. Will she be able to look beyond his past and see herself in his future?

But Jayla has a secret of her own. A secret that could change the course of her future forever! Although Rush suspects something, Jayla isn’t ready to open up about it to him … or anyone for that matter! But will she confide in him before it’s too late?

Slope of love is the 13th book in the Love in Bloom series. Although it can be read as a stand alone book, I highly recommend reading the previous books in the series to get the full appreciation of the characters and story. I loved this book, but that should come as no surprise to anyone who follows my reviews/blog. Melissa Foster is one of my all-time favorite authors. Her books/characters/stories pull you in from the first page and holds you in until the end. I highly recommend this book and all of the books in the Love in Bloom series. If you are like me, you will leave each book with another “book boyfriend”.

This is book 13 in Melissa Fosters Love in Bloom series and I have read each and every one. Each one is it's own story with characters that are so familiar that I believe they are my friends and family. This series is so unique in how it can pull the reader in from the very first page, keep them entertained throughout the entire book, and then continue the story in the next book in the series.

It is hard for me to pick my favorite parts of this story. I am a downhill skier and watching competitive skiing is one of my favorite sports to watch so relating to the injuries, the feeling of going down the hill, and the equipment being used was so familiar to me.

I found it easy to relate to Rush and Jayla. Their friendship was easy from the very beginning. There was no doubt that they were BFFs and destine to be together. Once again Melissa introduced me to my book crush.

I am struggling to tell you more of what I loved without giving away the best parts of the story. All I can tell you is that this is a book and series that you must read.

The entire Snow Sister series is a series I already have recommended to everyone and will continue to do so.

Thanks again to Melissa Foster and Tasty Book Tours for once again giving me another great story to read. Oh come on, by now you KNOW that I am a huge fan of Melissa Foster and this amazing series. Are you really surprised that I am reviewing this one? I didn't think so.

Rush Remington is the one brother that I have been waiting patiently for, especially since the Winter Olympics were this winter. I have a thing for watching the skiing and snowboarding. I think it is because I can not do it! Based on the snippets we had of Rush in previous books, I figured his love would be one of his teammates. Well, I was partially right. Jayla is a member of the team, but she is also Rush's best friend.

Right from the beginning, I was sucked into this story. Never mind that I cried for the first few chapters. There was something about Jayla that I connected with, but I am glad that she was able to get herself out of the situation she was in. Let me tell you that Jayla is one strong woman but she also has a vulnerability about her that makes her realistic.

It has come to a point that I can't even say which book is my favorite because I love them all!

As everyone knows I am a HUGE fan of Melissa Foster's work. This is book four of the series and I love every single one of them. I love this one especially because they were already friends, here you have to adults that have been around each other for years and been there when they needed someone but always as best friends. So to go along on the ride and get to watch them discover how to not only be best friends but loves at the same time was nice.

I LOVE Jayla and her whole personality although I wanted to shake her a few times when she was pushing Rush away because I mean come on hotter then hot!! Plus he is your best friend but I also understood. Rush has always been a huge man whore, and Jayla doesn't wanna get hurt.

When they finally get together its like the sky on the forth of July, I mean good god it was hot! This is just another one of Melissa's books that are GREAT! Cant wait to read what she has next.

Rush and Jayla have been best friends since they were twelve years old. Jayla hurt her shoulder and refuses to back down from the skiing competition. Lately Rush isn't like himself and has stopped sleeping with random women which, now he has his eyes set on his best friend Jayla. Before the skiing competition both Jayla and Rush are teaching teens to ski. When a little drama is stirred up it will test their friendship and love for each other.

I really loved how this book turned out. I thought that it was sweet that they had a prior relationship as friend so they already know each other and that there isn't any instant. I loved thier relationship and the steamy scences were great. I loved watching thier relatinoship as friends turned into something more with a bit of drama and spice to make things interesting. I loved everything about this book and highly recommend you lovely readers to check out this book.

Fun and sex as long-term friendship turns into much denied love on the ski-slopes of Colorado......Melissa Foster continues what she does so well....writing a developing love story
of yet another Remington.....this time, Rush and his best friend for over 15 years.....Olympic ski champion, Jayla Stone both volunteer to teach youngsters to ski while they are preparing for their team to compete.......The families of the beautiful sportswomen and men....the Remingtons, Bradens and Stones all contribute to the warmth.....
I enjoy the strong independent women who more than hold their own while the Alpha males.....of course tall, dark or blonde and handsome protect the women who succeed in their back and forth slips and slides to love.......
Contemporary romance novels provide us readers with many options for fantasizing love and happiness of the beautiful and the rich.......

Melissa Foster has very quickly become one of my favoriteauthors! I have always enjoyed these types of books, and I am SO happy that I found her books! From the beginning of the book, I felt for Rush! I have been in the situation where I was in love (or I thought it was love) with someone, yet couldn't tell them, for one reason or another. Of course, if you've read any of the previous books from the Love in Bloom series, you have most likely heard Rush's name being said. He most definitely has the "hotness" factor for me! I am drawn to tattoo'ed, athletic, "bad boy" types, and I have a feeling that Rush is just that!!

Slope of Love could be either read as a stand alone book or if you want to read the rest, by all means - I definitely recommend them!!

Slope of Love was a nice read. Not a great read but a nice read. Rush Remington and Jayla are double gold medal winning Olympic downhill skiing champions. They've been best friends since they met at skiing camps when they were young teenagers. Jayla has been in love with Rush since they first met when she was 13 and somehow even though Rush spent most of the next 14 years as a man-whore and she and Rush joked about h is propensity for meaningless one-night stands, Jayla still loved him. At nearly 30 years old Rush finally grows up and recognizes that he has also always loved Jayla and she is the love of his life. Of course one of the problems the two lovers face is Rush convincing Jayla that he has given up his man-whore ways for good and she is the only woman for him. As in all friends to lovers stories a main issue is Jayla's concern that if they don't work out as lovers, if she ends up being nothing more than a fling for Rush, it will end or irreparably damage their BFF status. Another issue is the concern that a serious relationship will prove to distracting for both of them in their all consuming pursuit of more Olympic gold even though the next Olympics is a couple of years off. And lastly as the current competitive season is coming to a close Jayla is trying to hide a potentially career ending shoulder injury from first Rush as well as the coach and then just the coach while she plans on competing in the seasons final event. When Rush discovers the extent of her injury he's conflicted because has her teammate and fellow Olympic competitor he understands Jayla's need to compete but as the man who loves her he worries that her stubbornness and insistence on competing one last time could do more permanent damage to her shoulder.
I really thought the best part of this story was Rush in particular but also Jayla trying to feel their way through this new territory where they were a couple, not just friends and teammates. Rush struggled with whether he was being over-protective and whether he had a right to be and so was Jayla.
Here's the reasons I only gave the story 3 stars. First, so much is made of Jayla's injury and how it could impact her career. Well, I've had more extensive shoulder surgery than Jayla had and even though this might have been her third labrum injury it hardly to me seems like something irreparable that surgery and physical therapy couldn't overcome to allow her to get back on the slopes. Second, Jayla insisting on competing in a this non-critical off year season ending event inspite of her injury and the risk of causing more damage made her seem more foolish than competitive to me. After winning to gold medals at the last Olympics it would seem her place on the Olympic ski team and her current endorsement deals, as long as she was physically able to ski the next season should have been secure without having to risk further injury at the end of the current season. Third I didn't understand all the concern about the relationship causing a problem with their all important focus on training? They'd been best friends their whole lives and trained together, as much as the men's and women's skiers train together, so I don't know why becoming a couple loomed as such a possible distraction to them? To my way of thinking it would make their relationship easier than if they had dissimilar career demands. And it's not like other successful athletes don't manage to also have successful personal relationships. It all felt like a lot of the issues that presented a danger to their relationship really weren't and the author played them up to create some conflict. Lastly, I'm not an Olympic skier and have no clue as to how the coach/team member relationship works in that world. But it seemed like Ms. Foster made the relationship between the skiers and their hardnosed coach more like the one you'd expect between a high school coach and his players with all the "Yes sirs" and corny coach speak like "if you can still feel your face you're not going fast enough!" I mean Rush and Jayla are the reigning world champions of their sport and double Olympic gold medal winners and almost 30 year old adults. It just seems to me that Rush and Jayla would have both had a more adult relationship with the coach. Lastly **Spoiler Alert** we're supposed to believe that somehow Jayla was clipped by another skier in her final run down the mountain. When we're talking about the training and competition between world class skiers, how would that even happen? How would some idiot who didn't know enough to give her room even be anywhere near her on the slopes during a competition or certified training event?
I did really like Jayla and Rush in this story and of course Rush's family is always great as secondary characters. We were also introduced to Jayla's older brother who at least IMHO didn't really add much to the story but is probably the subject of a future book series based upon her siblings. There were just the things I mentioned that kept me from giving it 4 or 5 stars.

Slope of Love is the fourth book in The Remingtons series (Love in Bloom Book #13) by Melissa Foster. The Love in Bloom series proved to be a heartwarming journey through love, family, and personal growth. Spanning multiple interconnected series/stories, it offers a wonderful blend of romance, humor, and emotional depth that kept me reading the whole way through.
Ms. Foster crafted fully developed, relatable, and multidimensional characters who added an extra element of emotion and interest to my overall reading experience. The heroes are fiercely loyal and endearing, while the heroines are smart, empowered, and refreshingly ‘real’. Each character feels like someone you could know in real life, making their struggles and triumphs, high and lows, all the more impactful.
The stories have a perfect balance of steamy romance mixed with heartfelt moments. But that doesn’t mean that Ms. Foster shies away from exploring deeper themes like forgiveness, self-discovery, and the complexities of relationships – adding dynamic layers to the storyline/s. But, despite the emotional depth, the series still maintains more of a lighthearted charm, sprinkled with humor and tender family connections.
While each novel can be read as a standalone, there is an interconnectedness with the recurring characters and overlapping storylines - which help create a sense of community that feels warm and inviting. It’s like being welcomed into a big, loving family where everyone has a worthwhile story to tell.
‘Within the Love in Bloom big-family romance collection you'll find fiercely loyal heroes and smart, empowered women on their search for true love. They're flawed, funny, and easy to relate to. Characters from each series appear in future Love in Bloom books…’
If you are a fan of contemporary romance or simply looking for a feel-good series to escape into, this series is a worthwhile binge read…

Mal olympisches Gold bekommen.

I loved that the author took the time to include a "Note To Readers" that set up the reader/listener for this book.

I'm not going to gush about Mr. Harrison but he is perfect as the narrator for Ms. Foster's books. The way he talks to us, just has me sitting back and relaxing while I listen to what he has to say. If I'm out working in the yard he helps in getting me to forget how hot it is and how I wish it was winter so that I could sit with a cup of hot chocolate as I listen to this story.

In this latest story our main characters are two competitive skiers. They also happen to be friends. Jayla had me frustrated. There were times where I wanted to yell at her. There were times where I'd let out a snarky laugh. It was interesting to watch Rush come to realize certain things. It was a pleasure to watch them to go from the love of friendship to the love between a man and a woman. They made me anticipating when the next Winter Olympics comes around but I don't know that I can wait until 2022. Maybe I'll have to see if I can find anything that shows the events from February. Otherwise my other choice would be to visit Vail Colorado but I'm no snow bunny. And somehow I can't picture myself sitting outside in a pile of snow listening to Slope Of Love.

This book helps me forget that and let the characters take me to a winter wonderland instead. This is a book that I wouldn't mind having both the book copy and the audio copy. I've heard Mr. Harrison enough that as I read I would probably hear him talking to me in my head. I find myself smiling from beginning to end, maybe let out a laugh or two, and forgetting any bad things that may have happened during the day. It also gets me to relax and just enjoy a romantic story. I can't wait to have more from this series, from this narrator and more importantly from Ms. Foster.

I voluntarily reviewed an Audiobook copy of this book.

I am not sure how an author picks their narrator when taking the written word to an audio version but Melissa Foster picked the perfect one with BJ Harrison. I find his tone and cadence perfect. It is easy to follow the story and relate to the characters. There is emotions in his words that add so much to the story.

Jayla and Rush have been best friends for years and professional skiers for as long as they have been best friends. They have both made it to the Olympics and both medaled.

Jayla is volunteering to help out at a resort to teach at risk kids to ski since Rush asked her to help out and she is more than happy to. And in the evenings and afternoons she is training for her last race of the season, however there is a bit of a problem, she has an injury she is trying to hide, from everyone. Her coaches, Rush, and maybe she is in denial with herself too.

Rush has finally come to his senses that he is in love with Jayla and that he wants to take the next step in their relationship. He has stopped his womanizing ways and is ready to settle down and be the boyfriend that he wants Jayla to have and be proud of.

Rush and Jayla have some issues along the way, an ex boyfriend, the injury, a student's mother making waves, and the truth behind their feelings for one another.

Can the two of them get past Rush's womanizing history and Jayla's injury that could be career ending? Can these two find that they really are meant to be together forever and can over come any obstacle?

Loved reading Rush's and Jayla's story. It was a very sweet, loving story, and showed true compassion, love and respect for each other.

Jayla and Rush are both world champion skiers who have known each other since they were in their young teens - little did they know that they both have had a change in their feelings toward each other.

Rush has been known as a womanizer but has recently changed his ways after watching his family members fall in love but also with the realization that his feelings toward Jayla may have moved past just being his best friend.

Rush has always taken care of Jayla by making sure she has her favorite gummy bears but also respects her enough to understand she knows her limits and will let her push herself - even when it kills her.

Listen as Rush and Jayla learn that while they are both world champion skiers in their own right, are they an even better team? Listen as Mr. Harrison does a great job in bringing the friendship and story of Jayla and Rush to life, although you may have to get used to the female voice like I did but it happens quickly.

I would love to have Rush Remington as my best friend (and possible lover...)!

This is a feel good story by Melissa Foster featuring Jayla and Rush. They have been best friends for years, and now take their relationship to the next level. I so enjoy how the best friends know each other inside and out. The author writes such endearing characters that have quirks and issues. They may not be perfect, but they are so good. I think its neat when a character matures infront of our eyes. The story is full of some great humor, realistic banter, and a heartwarming ending. Getting priorities was something I took away from the book. The imagery in the story is also spot on. Slope of Love is a standalone listen and part of a series. There are cameo appearances of other characters from books in the series, that only add to the story. BJ Harrison did an excellent job with his performance of Jayla, Rush and others. I will definitely listen to more books by this author and narrator. This was time well spent listening.

I loved this friends to lovers story. Rush and Jayla have been best friends since she was 13. They are both Olympic skiers who are helping at a ski clinic for kids while training for their last race of the season. Rush sees it as a week to have Jayla to himself so they can just hang out but Jayla brings her boyfriend Marcus and feels the opportunity is dead.

Jayla is dealing with shoulder issues but is determined to compete in the final race of the season. She is trying to concentrate on her shoulder and the race. She finally decides it is time to cut Marcus loose which makes Rush very happy. As they spend time together their feelings for one another surface and they finally tell each other how they really feel about one another.

This book gave me the feels. I loved getting to re visit with characters from other LIB books. The narrator was so good that he made the story flow nicely and quickly. I hated getting out of my car because I wanted to keep listening.

I listened to the audiobook of Slope of Love by Melissa Foster and I truly enjoyed it right from the start. B. J. Harrison was the narrator and as always, I can picture the scene perfectly as he tells us their story. This story involves Jayla Stone and Rush Remington who are both Olympic gold medalist skiers. They have been best friends for a very long time and tell each other everything. Except one thing. Jayla has been in love with Rush for a long time and Rush has just recently done some soul searching and realized that what he needed was right in front of him the whole time. How to tell each other without ruining their friendship is the hard part. I can totally relate to this scene. As they continue to work together, training teenagers to learn to ski they both realize they can't keep their feelings from each other. When they do finally tell each other how they feel, it's amazing. I love their story and being able to relate in some level. That's exactly what draws me in.
