A short and sweet adventure novel that, much like the anime adaption of Sigsawa's Gun Gale Online, ends up being a lot less dour and serious than one might expect it to be at first, yet doesn't suffer at all for the lightheartedness. The fun interplay between the main characters was a notable highlight.

Absolutely loved it! I watched the anime Allison to Lillia many years ago but never realised that it was actually based on novels! So, when I stumbled upon a translation of the Allison and Lillia & Treize novels, I decided to read it.

What I loved from the anime was Allison and Wil's characters and how they interacted with each other and the world without them. It's a very simple story where the East and West sides sharing the same continent are at war with each other because they believe their respective people were the true ancestral forefathers of humankind. The story tells of Allison and Wil's who meet an old man that tells them of a treasure that could stop this war and so they end up embarking on an adventure after witnessing the kidnapping of the old man and then finding the treasure.

Tbh, the story is quite run of the mill general plot but I think how everything played out was done very well despite how predictable it was. In addition, Wil and Allison are such a great team/partners that work with each other very well. They may seem to be the generic rash and calm combo but despite how they seem, they are both very smart and adventurous. They may seem different but in essence, they are similar and I really liked how they complemented each other so well in a beautiful work.

علمني هذا الجزء معنى التضحية و الثمن الباهظ للحفاظ على السلام و ايقام العدل و نشر الحقيقة مهما كانت تبعاتها:
كما أن الملازم مروان قتل جميع مرؤوسيه للحفاظ على الكنز الثمين الذي وجده فإن الحفاظ على السلام باهظ الثمن. لم يعش الملازم حياة هنيئة بل كان معذب الضمير و منفطر الفؤاد. لا يمكنني تصور الألم و الضغط و الحسرة التي عاش فيهم لانه قتل كل أصحابه من اجل قضية لم يكن متأكدا ان كانت ستصبح حقيقة ام لا. هذه التضحية هي الطريقة الوحيدة للحفاظ على السلام او بالأحرى لتمهيده. التضحية مهما كانت مؤلمة و لم نرى منها فائدة على المدى القصير فإن ايماننا و يقيننا بأنها الحقيقة و تتبعها قضية عادلة و ان الله لن يخذلنا حتى بعد وقت طويل و لو بعد موتنا، هو انتصار بحد ذاته. انتصار فيه خوف و قلق و عدم التأكد من مئالات شيء مهم كبير كهذا لكنه يبقى انتصارا و إيمانا لا يمكن إلا للشخص المؤمن بقضيته ان يتمسك بهما في أقسى ايام الحرب و اليأس.
مع انه كتاب كتب للأطفال و انيمي صور للاطفال إلا أن مواضيعه عميقة تذكرني بالواقع المرير الذي نعيشه الان. كما أن الوطن يستحق التضحية مهما كان الثمن باهظا. فليرحم الله شهدائنا و من جعل حياته فداءا لوطنه و ليحرر اوطاننا من المغرب الى المشرق.
