Just like the first chapter - a heartwarming story, a mother's fight for her child, and an uncertain ending that forces you to jump right to the next chapter.
What I love about this comics is how the authors incorporated day-to-day human struggles, sufferings, love, fear, hate into the life of those aliens. I laughed for real when I read the part where the Lance Corporal exposed their fear of inspection.
Like the first chapter this too has many inconsistencies - when The Will said, "If The Stalk is on their trail those kids are already dead", I was naturally expecting The Stalk to be a vicious cunning freelancer whose every move were meant to kill. But as we find later she stabbed Marko in the most non-fatal places possible, whereas she could easily go for the heart or head. She also fled like a normal person from the fear of some unknown entity. And with all those weapons lying useless in her hands (feet?)
And woah! what was that face on the screen of Prince Robot IV - was it laugh or anger? I have no idea.
What I really loved about this comics is the graphics - I take some time in each page just to admire the beautiful art.

It's extremely difficult to rate the individual chapters, therefore the following is a review of the first volume. In other words, chapters one through six.
I’ve said it before when reviewing other graphic novels, but I’m not the biggest fan of them. In fact, I mostly avoid them. However, every so often I get the urge to try another. As my last foray into a graphic novel resulted in a hidden gem, one I adored, I decided to give another one a go. Thus, I opted to dive into Saga. I have heard countless great things about Brian K. Vaughan’s Saga series, so I decided it was time to take a leap.
In truth, this first volume of Saga, containing chapters one through six, was more of a three-point-five-star rating rather than the rounded down three-star rating I gave it. It was bizarre, in the best of ways. I knew going in that it was a wild story, but I wasn’t quite prepared for all I was given.
Although there is a great storyline to follow, we also have numerous weird and wonderful things to enjoy as we ride the wave. Some things will leave you laughing, some will have you doing a double take, and others will simply have you blinking at the pages. All these elements were addictive in the best kind of ways, leaving me curious as to how everything will tie together.
It is no surprise to find Saga volume one left me wanting to read the second volume.

I am starting to like Marko's attitude towards his girls. Damn that "The Stalk". I am quite interested with those red eyes lurking around them, but that was real creepy.

I own this book in a compendium format.

This issue took my breath away, literally. We follow Alana and Marko as they trek further to get their baby girl, Hazel to safety while being hunted by those who wish them all dead. When they come head to head with their enemies and we are left hanging. It is shocking when it happens because it's so unexpected. I'm already so attached to these characters, I'm not ready for them to get hurt so early on.

1. "I enjoy the taste of my own breast milk." Hahaha.
2. It's like fantasy/superhero/love story/sci-fi/drama/comedy. All genres in one.
3. The art is captivating and tells a story.
4. The little side frames of Hazel's narrations is pretty great.
5. I feel like people will soon have Alana's haircut. And grow horns like Marko.
6. I was totally alarmed by the Endless Woods armless, topless lady. Also didn't expect her to be The Stalk.
7. The Horrors scared me. And then that's the end?! You can't do that to me.
8. I'm very much intrigued by TV head guy. I like that things play on his screen based on what’s going on.
9. The Chinese dragon tram is cool.

Everything happens so fast in this comic! I have so many questions that I need answers to. I thought I'd just read this issue and continue on in the morning but there is no way I can stop here. Kudos to the illustrator, some of the art is very creepy. Being an arachnophobe, if I have nightmares tonight this is definitely to blame. I'm really enjoying this so far, hopefully it continues in it's current awesome fashion.

Issue #1 was amazing. Issue #2 continues the awesome. If you like comics-- wait, screw that, if you like good STORIES, you should be reading this comic. Brian K. Vaughan is killing it and Fiona Staples matching him step for awesome step.

Can anyone tell me that every chapter for Saga leaves me hanging with shocked? I know in the first chapter, there were moments of survivor-hood and betrayal... and some sort of a treasure map leaving behind.
In this chapter, I didn't expect it to happen so soon! And at the very last, it kinda gives me the creeps! Holy Guacamole Shocked!!!
