One girl. One crown. The decision between life or death.
What is there left when everyone you trusted has lied to you and deceived you in the worst ways?
In order to survive, Carina has to hold herself together on her own, stitching her broken heart back up to protect herself from the gruesome fate that awaits her. The princess has nowhere to go, no one to trust.
Her only way of moving forward is to listen to her ancestors and somehow find the Fatum, ancient creatures that will reveal the prophecy of her life...or rather her death.
Another potential 5 star book but the writing errors get in the way. I LOVE THIS SERIES. Truly so so good. I think this is one of the few times where an author has gotten the love angst right. Unlike other books where the FMM is overly angry for too long and can’t get over it or they forgive and forget soooo easily, this book gets it just right. It’s the perfect balance of Katarina coming to terms with and navigating the betrayal and loss of trust with literally EVERYONE (dad, mom, Cas, Edelyn, Giselle, EVERYONE) she’s ever known and her whole idea of the world being upturned. It’s written so well and the resolutions between the relationships were effective and added value to the story.
The ending did feel very rushed and I felt some things weren’t explained well or were left unanswered. Where was Kael? He just stayed home and we never heard more? I’d love to know the full extent of Cas and Katarina’s bond. So many elements came quickly with little explanation. Why he was hesitant to feed from her neck?? Were there not so many instances on their journey to Demeter that it felt like Cas was hearing her thoughts with the way his body would react?? With all the hum and energy she feels being around him, surely they have more capability in their powers together??

I enjoyed the first book overall, but this one is just not it. It feels rushed in comparison, the end is a little bit random, and the whole explanation of the book and the reason she has all these problems are told on like 30 pages at the end of the book??? Also, they introduced new amazing characters to let them on second plane and didn´t even try to make more out of it. More of the half of this book is repetitive with the hate-love push, and barely not more plot aside. What threw me off was the lack of improvement on the grammar errors that we already have on the first book. It is sad because the plot and what it could be it´s good, the characters are funny and there is chemistry but if there is another book I would highly recommend to look after the edition and the ortography.
I have the same issue with this book that I did with the first one- it desperately needed another few rounds of editing. BUT I will say it was slightly easier to read than the first book (i'm not sure if this was because I just got used to it though).
While I generally enjoyed the plot, Carina was super frustrating this book, and fortunately Cassian was able to save it a little bit.
The ending had so much potential, but seemed super rushed it was like one moment the bad guys is alive and the next he's dead but there could've been so much more to it.
I feel like i'm having to give the same rating from the first book- 1 star for Cassian, and 1 star because the plot had the potential to be good.

This book had a lot of potential. I like the characters a lot and was enjoying where the plot was going. There is a lot going on and some of the plot lines didn’t make sense to me. I feel like they missed the mark a bit. For example, at the end of the book the father is revealed and he tells the FMC that Zayne (the brother) has been in love with her his entire life. It would have been so much better if there hints dropped in the book that he may have had feelings for her, but there wasn’t. Therefore that big reveal seemed very random. The MMC didn’t want to feed from the FMC neck but that was never explained. It seemed like the MMC could hear the FMCs thoughts, but could he? It was not explained why the character were acting the way they were.
There were also a TON of spelling and grammar mistakes. So obvious that I wonder if anyone proofread the book before publishing.

Grammatical errors aside, this book was absolutely fantastic! The plot was unique enough to catch and keep my attention to the point where I read this and the first book in 2 days. I can’t praise this enough. The FMC being such a bada** was such a breath of fresh air with the addition of a morally grey MMC who secretly adores the FMC was the icing on the cake. The world created was well thought out, and I found myself easily becoming engrossed in every word wanting to know more about every character and place. I enjoyed the twists and turns of the plot along the way. Overall this was a 5/5 read for me.
The grammar and sentence structuring is absolutely terrible just like the first book. There are an abundance of plot holes, where the author contradicts what she said previously. it also felt like the author changed the plot twist to have a completely different meaning later on. I also thought that the princes brother also having loved the main character without her knowledge, just didn’t fit in the story and seemed out of place.
this plot has genuinely so much potential but the way it’s currently written ruins it.

This second book still had quite a few errors (I wonder if the author would be up for ARC readers for the third book coming out? *wink wink*)
Many people preferred the first book, but they didn't fully grasp the FMC's emotions and beliefs. Carina couldn't just up and forgive everyone; she has experienced pain that some people would hold a grudge over forever. I experienced those emotions with her; I cried with her and felt anger and betrayal with her.
I thoroughly enjoyed the first book and looked past the errors, and even the ending which was just completely random and not mentioned within the plot at all. But THIS disappointed me so much. It started so well and it was only the last 10% of the book that was so rushed 😢 I needed more kael, I needed Flynn and edlyn !! I really enjoyed the majority of the book but a lot of it didn’t tie together 😢

I really liked the overall plot of this one and the first book! It was an easy read and I was hooked from the middle of the first book so I finished the second pretty quickly, but unfortunately there were so many spelling and grammatical errors in both books it was hard to read at some points as it didn’t make sense.
If you can see past that (which I was eventually able to) then it’s a good book!
The character arc in this book is really good, and it's a good follow-on from the first book. As a romantasy, I think it has all the elements and a good plot line. As in with the first book, There are just a lot of spelling mistakes or half sentences that should have been taken out during the editing phase; The author would do well to replace whoever is doing this at the moment.
In Book 2, the back and forth between Carina and Cassian gave me whiplash. I don’t know what else Carina needed from Cas to understand that he’s in love with her. She forgave Edlyn quickly but didn’t rekindle with Cas until much later. I wanted to get more of their love story/romance. I also wanted… needed more interaction between her and Zayne. We didn’t know he loved her too until the end 🥹 Give everything I was enthralled.

Again like the first book, this really had potential. Female lead was annoying and I could not even remember her name. Cassian carried the entire book on his shoulders. Finished the book entirely because of Cas. Period. I am so volunteering to edit this book. It has the potential to rival best sellers if not for ALL THE GRAMMATICAL AND SYNTAX ERRORS.
First off this book picked up right where book one left off and it was a much faster read. I was just wanting more spice and I know not every book can be four chilly peppers but I feel this was maybe a 2 and half. Book was defiantly not predictable, well written with just enough twists and turns. I will be reading book three when it comes out.
What happened ? that's what i want to ask the author. she wrote 2 instead of " in front of sentences, not 1 time but multiple times. the premise of this book was okay, but the writing felt like the author just didn't care. and it took me out of the story a lot. it's been a while since I've been so disappointed by a sequal. Was this a fan fic she just copied and pasted?
The first 10-15 chapters were a little meh… I really wanted to love this book, I couldn’t look past the errors… so many spelling & grammar mistakes made some parts hard to read. The story line was good but it dragged in some parts.
Two books later and i don't know how many pages, i still don't undersantand if the mmc is in love with the fmc. If every character has to come out and say it, it's not that really convencing is it, is like everyone is lyiong to themselves.
Plot with no context: FMC was bullied in childhood and develops low self esteem because of it.
Anyway, team Hector all the way.

Besides the typos that were throwing me off so much, I did enjoy the first 2 books! Wish there were more explicit scenes and I expected more from the ending. Like I wish the fight with Adales went into book 3 and made it a much bigger thing.

The amount of spelling errors is insane in this book and the characters repeat themselves for what feels like the entire book a great idea that was poorly execution.
I appreciate the time it took for the FMC to adjust to the changes and circumstances of the 1st book, but I didn't enjoy the ending of this book as much as the 1st book. It felt rushed.
