The Chippewa call the first full moon of summer the Strawberry Moon. Under its light, danger casts a shadow over the scenic beauty of northern Michigan orchards. Leelanau County Sheriff Hoss Davis is propelled into conflicts, passion, and violence by a missing person report, but Barbara Wilson's failure to return home is only the beginning of this tangled tale.
Robert is one of Leelanau's most popular local authors. His books are consistent best sellers. He has fans amongst locals and visitors alike.
Robert is a psychiatrist/psychoanalyst. He practiced in Bloomfield Hills, MI for 33 yrs, while also Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at Wayne State University School of Medicine and on the faculty of the Michigan Psychoanalytic Institute.
He is also the driving force behind the Beyond the Bay series of foreign movies shown at Suttons Bay's Bay Theater.
A great story set in Northern Michigan that keeps the reader guessing until nearly the end. The characters are believable and appealing. I think I have found my next favorite series.
Good book, although I did not feel the author developed the eventual murderer enough before he revealed that he was, in fact, the murderer. It was kind of a weak attempt at a twist that left me scratching my head. Well written, with lots of northern Michigan references I could relate to and enjoy. Kept me turning the pages.
