Written for college students or professionals seeking a reference, Writing Proposals offers a comprehensive, strategic approach to proposal development for the technical professions. The author takes readers step-by-step through the development process, helping them invent ideas, organize materials, write in plain and persuasive styles, and create an effective visual design. Writing Proposals provides students with additional material frequently not found in other texts on writing proposals, including a full chapter on creating budgets and thorough coverage of using the Internet.
For someone who is technically inclined like myself, this books' step-by-step instructions on how to write a grant proposal got me an A inthe class and this fall I'm interning for the Professor who taught it. after using this book as a text book, I would definitely consider Grant Writing as a full time job in the future. If you are not a book learner, then this book won't be much help to you until you get to the grant proposal examples at the end of each chapter.
I read most of these chapters two-three times to get through my UCF Proposal Writing Class. Excellent textbook with highly relevant content, easy-to-understand examples, and clear explanations. I will refer to this text many times in the years to come.
The best part of this book is the example proposals. They served as a good reference for the grants I was working on. The book was well organized by topic and very detailed.
