The Perennial Tradition, or Wisdom Tradition, is explored in depth in this inaugural issue of the Rohr Institute’s spiritual, literary journal, "Oneing." The Perennial Tradition is found as a recurring theme in all of the world’s religions and philosophies, pointing to Divine Reality underneath and inherent in all things and the human soul’s capacity and longing for union with this Divine Reality. Contributors include Richard Rohr, David Benner, Cynthia Bourgeault, Diana Butler Bass, John Esposito, James Finley, Robert Sardello, and others. "Oneing," the title of the journal, is a word that was used by the Christian mystic, Lady Julian of Norwich (1342-1416), to describe the encounter between God and the soul. The Rohr Institute publishes "Oneing" with Jesus’ words at “that all may be one” (John 17:21).

The perennial wisdom tradition, stemming from religious and philosophical branches of the same root exposes the fallacy that we are separate from one another; that our tribal divisions are false and founded in our fears. This book is a tour de force of the Ultimate Reality that unites us as humans with the Ground of our Being. Highly recommended.
The Perennial Wisdom Tradition seeks to explore the deeper common source of spiritual wisdom found in all religious traditions. This collection of articles looks at this tradition for a Christian perspective. While generally oriented toward Christian mysticism there are a couple articles that tie this tradition to full engagement in the world
This issue presents challenging views of traditional theology but is so rigorous in its presentation that one is not threatened by its methodology and if one remains open there is solid points worthy of consideration.
