Was a very interesting book. Really opened my eyes up to possible aspects of our relationship with the Lord that were never talked about in any of the churches I grew up in. However, it left me with more questions about certain things. I won't be able to give my full opinion on all that was said in this book until i do more research through the Scriptures about if/how Speaking in Tongues and Praying in the Spirit correlate with each other. Overall really enjoyed the book and his passion for people to enter into deeper communion with the Lord is undeniable. Only complaint is that he quoted one sketch pastor.

This book is excellent providing a tremendous Biblically-based view of the gifts of the Holy Spirit including the power of speaking in tongues.

Speaking in tongues is often a controversial topic for many Christians. This book removes that controversy and explores the scriptures to provide a solid basis for its importance in the life of a Christian. Paul is a central figure in the book based on the fact he said "I thank my God I speak with tongues more than you all." (1 Cor 14:18) and we see how it transformed his life and ministry.

I love the idea that speaking in tongues is like a "secure-line" between us and the Father. Satan and his cronies can't interpret it. Hence, why it can be so powerful in overcoming persistent sin. Speaking in tongues, like the sword of the spirit is an offensive weapon we can use to strike at our weaknesses and temptations.

I've highlighted most of the book and very quickly increased my speaking in tongues as I read each chapter.

It's rare that a book can have such an immediate impact. I would encourage you to read it. It's quite short, only 170 pages and is filled with such powerful wisdom and Biblical insight.

Very, very highly recommended.

Are you hungry for more of God? Do you long to see and participate in the "greater works" Jesus said we'd do? Are you frustrated because you know there's more to the Christian life than you're experiencing, but you're not sure how to access it?

Corey Russell gives us clear direction for accessing God's glory and power - use the tools God has graciously given us. The particular tool this book emphasizes is praying in tongues. The author shows by scripture and example just how important and powerful praying in the Spirit is.

This book will inspire you to fellowship with the Holy Spirit and relate to Him in a more personal way. And most likely you will realize that you've not used a most precious gift nearly enough.

This review is based on a free ebook given me by the publisher.

I truly appreciated this book. I have so many passages highlighted and underlined. I enjoyed the scripture and examples. The second to last chapter with practical examples was my favorite. I gave it four stars because it was “wordy” to read. It seemed repetitive and sometimes went on rabbit trails, and the structure of the book was hard to follow.

Worth reading, though!! Much needed for our church today.

If you have a desire to have a deeper understanding of the gift of speaking in tongues and why it is important to a Christian's prayer life, this is an excellent read. Even if you are skeptical of the gifts of the Spirit, I would encourage you to read this book.

Recently saw Corey Russell speak at a conference here in Houston. He has a strong resemblance to Mike Bickle's teaching style. Bickle is the senior pastor from IHOP in KS, where Russell is on staff. This book is 10 chapters and 165 pages. If your a fan of International House of Prayer you will like this book. Russell addresses a believer's prayer language with fervor and puts a large emphasis on the transformation that can take place through regular praying in tongues. It's Chapter 9 before he finally gets to the nuts and bolts practicality of this gift that I found helpful. It's a nice foundational book on the topic but he puts greater emphasis on the gift than I expected and uses scripture to support his perspective in ways I've never heard it taught before. More than once I raised my eyebrows, but it could be just that my background is deep in So. Baptist roots. I have so much respect for IHOP and their vision for 24/7 prayer that I can read a book critically from their ministry and carry away pearls from the sand. Test everything and let the Holy Spirit guide you in truth right?

The Glory Within, by Corey Russell was such a great read that I really enjoyed. I was deeply moved; it was like getting introduced to Holy Spirit all over again but being able to say we’ve met. I then took that opportunity to personally get to know Him a lot more through "The Glory Within."

This book taught me new things and added to my biblical understanding and clarity. As I read about Holy Spirit, the pages seem to show familiar and unfamiliar things about Him. I had so many “ouch”, “aha” and familiar moments that it inspires me to put what I have learned into action. All I know, is that when I read this book I was very responsive and the more I read the greater the respect, reverence and understanding for Holy Spirit became evident to me through each page and chapter.

Most of all I loved the fact of walking away knowing Holy Spirit and I are really good friends that communicate several times a day and He is my present help in moving me closer to that godly woman of God that my Father in heaven sees me as and will be very pleased with.

Respectfully,

Joanna Coleman

It's been a few months since I read this. I forgot to review it right away, so I can't remember too many specifics. However, this I can say: this book does an excellent job of stirring the believer to interact with Holy Spirit. This is the transformational message the Body needs....that we can be transformed to the degree we desire--we are only limited by the amount we commune with Holy Spirit. I was deeply impacted by this book and by hearing Corey Russell speak on the same subject. I would and have recommended this book to anyone confused or wondering about the part of the Holy Spirit in a believers life, or anyone wondering about praying in tongues, and to all who already love the person and ministry of Holy Spirit!

It was a nice reminder to engage in the gift of tongues. I will embark on my spiritual & life-on-earth destiny much quicker if I will be more contentious of this gift. Also, if I want to engage in the spiritual realm and walk more successfully through spiritual warfare I will operate more in this gift as well.

I thought the book was an awesome read. After going to a conference in Maine where he spoke in 3 services I found the anointing he operates as one to be coveted. Cory delightfully puts together a great book on the gift of tongues and the benefits from his own experience. He wrote this book from the heart, from where his passion is driven. Awesome!

I have always wished to have a book that I could share with everyone. But I wanted it to be profound and life changing. I think, this is it! I have never been compelled to share a book even before I finish reading it. I've never felt such an impact in my life half way reading a book.

This was a good book that teaches about praying in the Spirit. And how it is beneficial and what it really is. I also liked how it gave ideas of how to start and what certain things hold people back from doing it.
