As people in Germany used to say to me- if you rest, you rust. And they were right, and so, due to resting too much, I have to keep starting my Russian again from scratch (this is my last attempt). The Russian reader was given to me by my Russian teacher at school and was very easy to read (although its contents are extremely antiquated). It would be ideal for someone who already knows a modicum of Russian but, if you are a real beginner, instead of a permanent 'ruster', I think it might be too hard to struggle through.
