Jade Bowman is the author of Into Olympus, the first in the Olympus series.
A life long storyteller and chronic procrastinator, she finally began writing during the Covid pandemic and hasn't really stopped since, splitting her time between writing, researching and paying attention to her two demanding dogs.
The Olympus series was inspired by her love of mythology and her time spent living in Greece, imagining each little crack or crevice led to the underworld, or each storm was Zeus having a tantrum somewhere in the world.
If you'd like to keep up to date with Jade and her releases, you can find her on most social media and she'd love to have you there.

4.5! I really enjoy Greek mythology and how authors incorporate them. I especially liked how there were lesser known monsters and gods/goddesses. Percy Jackson if he did not know this realm existed and I was HERE FOR IT. But that cliffhanger.. rude.

I received this ARC for an honest review, all thoughts/opinions above are completely my own.

Jade was kind enough to send me an ARC in exchange for a review- and I had SUCH a fun time getting to know her characters and living in her world.

One of the coolest parts was the lore that a lot of other stories don’t explore:creatures that we don’t get a lot of books written about; details that are written off as unimportant pieces of folklore; characters who are mentioned in passing in other stories.

I want to firstly say thank you to the author for allowing me an arc. Unfortunately I have had to stop reading at 12% (chapter 4). This book wasn’t for me and I just couldn’t resonate with it or the FMC. I found the pace too slow for me personally. I love books that immediately draw me in and are action packed from start to finish. The cover is beautiful and the author is lovely.

Greek mythology buffs, this is for you! There are so many characters/players involved here. Selene was thrusted into the world of gods and creatures of Olympus suddenly when a curse is placed on her. Her story is full of action and passion. If you are a fan of Percy Jackson, read this!

Gaaaaahhhh!! Jade, why did you do that to me! I hope the second book comes soon because I can’t wait to read it!🖤

✔️Urban Fantasy
✔️Greek Mythology
✔️Slow burn
✔️Cliffhanger
✔️Strong FMC

I have to admit I know very little about Greek Mythology, but the way Jade took the time to break down all the Greek characters and paint a clear picture of who they are and what their role is was done phenomenally! Selene (FMC) is a strong woman with a good head on her shoulders. I fell in love with her from page one. I praise how she has handled the trauma in her life and continued to be a complete badass through the whole book!

The suspense in this book is ✨chefs kiss✨. Page turner from the beginning, I had a hand time putting it down! Also adored the romantic subplot but I’m not sure how I feel about Selene’s current interest 🤔 I have someone in mind I’d rather her get involved with but for the sake of spoilers I’ll keep that thought to myself 🤫

This book was amazing! Going to be stalking Jade so I can see when the next book comes out!😏

My first ARC ever and Im obsessed!

Jade did an exceptional job with incorporating and writing Greek mythology for a wide audience of people who may not be the most familiar with Greek mythology. I love that she also used characters of mythology that are lesser known to maybe those who don’t always read these types of stories. It’s been a while since I had stepped into the Greek mythology world, but Jade did such a great job of making me feel included and inspired by the characters that it felt like I’ve never left the genre! Thank you, Jade, for letting me be a part of your journey! I can’t wait for the next one!

"Death itself is nothing to fear. The manner of death however..."

If you like Greek mythology dressed in present times, author Jade Bowman's debut novel Into Olympus should be at the top of your TBR!

This tale as old as time is given a modern voice with our MC Selene. She is relatable, funny, fierce, and utterly clueless to the world she belongs to. With God's and monsters lurking at every corner, Selene is forced to face the truth and unfold her destiny. Will the Gods offer aid, or is she fated to fall at their yielding mercy?

I loved that this storyline was refreshing and felt brand new, but it held true to the Lore in Greek mythology. You can tell the author has done the research and understands the depts of these immortal beings. The Gods were perfectly placed into our world, but they didn't lose their old behavior or selfish ways.

The characters had it all they were mysterious, versatile, and had motives that we get to watch unfold. The plot was satisfying, unexpected, and left me dangling on the edge of a complete cliffhanger!

AND THE WRITING!!!

The sentences glided like melted butter. I was completely engrossed by the descriptive wording and at times halted just to appreciate the pure talent. I would absolutely recommend this book and am thrilled to see it will become a series!

The only complaint I can find is I don't already have book two in my hand🫴💫

I made the mistake of starting this book at night in bed, because wow does it suck you in. Just from the beginning pages alone. 🤍

I love the FMC. Selene has a great personality and she’s really such a strong character. It’s admirable watching her work through her trauma.

I need to say that the suspense in this book was SO GOOD! The author does an amazing job at describing the scenes, and the other characters! I didn’t know where this story was going to go.
I am somewhat familiar with Greek Mythology, and even if you’re not the author does a great job at explaining the gods, and the world of this book. I felt it easy to follow and understand. Overall the writing was amazing! ☁️✨🩵

I was finished this book so fast and it’s easily a top read this year! 🤍⭐️

I’m SO READY for the second book and to read more from this author. I highly highly recommend! 🤍☁️✨⭐️

Jade Bowman has done an amazing job bringing greek mythology into the modern era. The main character, Selene, is super relatable. Her 2 best friends are a support system every girl dreams of.

Her writing style hooks you right away, I finished this one in about 2 and a half days. She didn't jump the gun on introducing the Fantasy/Mythology aspect and I love the dynamics of the relationship between Selene and her friends. I can't wait to find out how she navigates her feelings for both of her love interests.

The only thing I had an issue with was the grammatical errors and a few typos. With that it wasn't alot and some of the grammar things could be attributed to her use of British English and American English somewhat interchangeably. It was hard to decipher when each one was being used.

Fantasy and Greek retelling can be tough to nail, but Jade has done it with this one. I can't wait to get my hands on the 2nd book.

Wow what an adventure!
Into Olympus was about a young mortal girl named Selene who discovers that the Olympian gods are real, and living in human bodies. As well as the fact that she is the next oracle and her best friends are also part of the Olympian hierarchy. She is forced into this world initially to attempt to get rid of a curse that turns into a whole other big adventure. With the help of her friends to support her she needs to learn fast.
I thought this was wonderful and I really enjoyed the writing. I always think fictional takes on Olympian stories are some of my favorites. I was very impressed with the story itself but also with our fmc's major character growth. She really pushed through to become a beloved mc. I think this is definitely one to recommend to friends. Jade Bowman wrote such a gripping story and I cannot wait for a sequel!

ARC READ

Well, I need more immediately!

Start to finish, you are absorbed into the book and characters! And what characters they are, loved them, and the development throughout the book as they grow and bonds develop. We do love strong female kickasses!

I really enjoyed the scope of monsters I'd never heard of before very interesting if you like anything olympus/greek myths. Descriptive writing wasn't over the top, and I found myself unable to put it down and fully devoured it.

That cliff hanger tho 😶‍🌫️

Excellent book highly recommend and eagerly looking forward to the next installment.

I quite enjoyed this, I love the cover and title.
With a little bit of a tidy up (word corrections etc. An example is mental on mental instead of metal on metal) this would be a great 5*.
I am not keen on the love interests, but we know little about them at this point so I look forward to seeing how they progress. Dean is better out the two because Cole just keeps changing his mind. I love that Dean is Deimos. Love that!
Selene is an interesting character, I look forward to seeing how her powers progress.
I love the backing characters. Apollo, Hades, Persephone, Charon and Medusa especially. They were well portrayed and I hope we see more of them.
The Hera and Ares team up is awesome. I think they mKs great villains.
Overall, an interesting read especially if you like Greek Mythology. I would happily continue this series.

FANTASY READERS!! And lovers of Greek mythology! And readers who would like to dip their toes into the fantasy/greek mythology genre- READ. THIS. BOOK. I absolutely loved this novel by Jade Bowman! I’m a big fan of Greek mythology and the many interesting tales of Greek gods and goddesses. This author did such a fantastic job of creating a strong, unique female lead character named Selene and interwove the well-known Greek legends throughout her adventure. Selene faces adversity and must find herself by facing her fears and overcoming obstacles in her way. The book was well-paced and kept my interest throughout. Also to note, Into Olympus is book one of a series. Definitely looking forward to the next book!

Beautifully written and engaging, Jade has created a fantastic world out of what we know of Greek mythology that pulls you in and makes you feel as if this could be the real world. The story of a mortal entering a world completely unknown to her before she’s even connected to it in ways she couldn’t even imagine is absolutely spectacular and to know that the story will continue on has me so excited and looking forward to all the future books about Selene and what crazy life will become next!

I received this book as an ARC, and believe me, I'm glad I did!! The characters are realistic, believable, but equally as mythical. I found Greek mythology to be accurate and equally understandable. Selene (the main character) is thrusted into a life full of unimaginable fears, strengths, and sexy men. The slow burn and cliff hanger leave me desperately wanting more.

I've seen so many people rave about this book and I can now say I totally see why! Modern day setting working in a greek mythology retelling, creatures to contend with, gods/demi-gods to swoon over, feisty strong female characters, found family, mystery/intrigue, and steamy action (nothing explicit) make this book even better! Also featuring a single pov, balanced pace and a single timeline with mentions of past/future events weaved intricately without confusion. Massive cliffhanger, if I had been reading a physical book I might just have chucked it! Can't wait to see where this goes!!

Good story line. I’ve always been fascinated with Greek Mythology and the book mentions interesting names/topics you don’t normally see in modern day mythology books. The cliffhanger at the end definitely leaves you wanting another book.

I highly enjoyed this book! I could not put it down, Greek mythology is one of my favourite things to read about, and this definitely ticked all my boxes. The only thing I would ask differently, is if there could have been a little bit more fighting scenes between the monsters and selenes friends/other gods? Other than that, loved it!! I can’t wait for it to be published so I can buy a copy to put on my shelf. The ending of the book even had me on the edge of my seat that I’m so excited for the second book!

This was such a refreshing take in a Olympus/ greek modern Take! New characters, and different views from lesser talked about gods, even the greek monsters she uses in the stories are refreshing cause it’s not the usual ones we always get. I couldn’t put it down and really enjoyed it. I’m a sucker for anything Olympus related but this one really grabbed my attention quickly and kept me interested. I was an Arc reader but I will be buying the physical copy to keep in my bookshelf cause the way this book ended I’m already needing the next book.

I want to give this book 4.5 stars.

For me, I felt like it started off really slow. I kept wanting to get to the exciting parts but… the slow start was worth it in the end! This is such a good book. Once the action started, I could not put it down. Every time I thought I knew what was going to happen next, the author would surprise me.

I also loved getting to learn the stories of the gods you don’t usually read about. Other books I’ve read focus mainly on the the main gods (Zeus, Hades, Poseidon), but here we get to hear from a son of Dionysus, learn about Medusa’s back story, and learn about the Oracle.

The author also does a really good job of including details to set the scene and make you feel like you are really there. The characters are also all really interesting which I loved.

I would definitely recommend this book to any one who has a love for a good Greek mythology fiction book!

This book was amazing. It's a modern take on lesser known/lesser spoken about gods and goddesses. Monsters you rarely hear about in mythology are brought into play. If you like anything Olympus related, this is for you. It follows the story of a mortal in Vegas who navigates her own troubles only to stumble into a realm she thought was solely fairy tales. It leaves you with a heart wrecking cliffhanger, so be prepared. This is truly a story about friends, relationships forming, curses, demons, magic and luck. I recommend diving into this story!
