Angels and demons, God and Satan, heaven and hell ~ What do you do when you find out that these things are not some made-up fantasy but they are real? And not only are they real but you were created to fight in warfare against the demons?
Hannah’s life is turned upside down when she discovers that everything she thought was fictional is actually real. Everyone she loves is in danger and to top it off, she learns that she is a Devada. She was created to kill demons.
Will she be able to learn and master her Devada abilities before the demons find her?
I was born and raised in Oklahoma where I met my husband of 26 years. We have 6 wonderful children ranging in ages from 16 years to 27 years of age. I listen to a wide range of music: rap, hip hop, alternative, rock, and country, just whatever happens to suit my mood at the moment. Some of my favorite artists include: Radio Company, Luke Bryan, Brantley Gilbert, Areosmith, Bon Jovi, Kane Brown, Guns N' Roses.
I'm also a bookworm, reading anything from christian fiction to paranormal and romance. Favorite books are: House of Night, Vampire Academy, Dirty Deeds. There are a ton more but it would take days to list them all.
In my teen years I had a friend who was into writing, she always had a short story in the works. Reading her work inspired me to create stories of my own. It wasn't until I started co-writing with Teresa Fuentez that I actually got serious about my writing.
5 stars Excellent read! Loved it! Wanted more. I guess I am on a demons & angels mood because the last book I read was also about angels and demons but that one was more on the religious side than this one. Although I see the religious details, this one is more of a YA good vs evil story. We have 3 main characters, although I thought it was 4 for the longest time and once one of them was killed I was super sad. But we have Hannah, Josh and Raum. Hannah is a Devada (she has powers that can kill demons) and Raum and Josh are Daimons (they are the first immortals created to fight against the demons. Hannah has no idea what she is and the 2 boys are there to help her train and get her where she needs to be. There is sort of a love triangle going on and you find yourself split up because they are both so perfect, heck in the beginning I actually liked her best friend for her. I really liked how the author played the love triangle, you really don't know who she will end up with or is she will end up with either. I was happy with what happened in the end. The story is very good and has quite a bit of action. You won't be bored, the fights are entertaining and this story will also get some emotions out of you. I almost cried with the death of one of the characters, it was so sad, I still feel like he shouldn't have died. This is a great story and I am very glad I finally had the time to read it, I bought this book last year and I am now looking forward to buying the next installment to know what happens next. I should also say that this book is perfectly safe, if you have teens they can read it, I am sure my kids will love this book. It is very clean.
Let me be honest, but you have to read the whole review to honestly understand. At first I didn't think I was gonna like this book when I first started reading it. There was two reasons for this. First, the author kept jumping in between the characters thought without notice that it would change to the next character's in the next paragraph. Secondly, I really didn't like Hannah's character. She seemed like a Queen B but then she was down to earth the next minute.
Now, I know the first part wasn't the most positive I should say but I had to get that out of the way because I can honestly say I fell in love with this book. Through out the book Hannah matures a lot. I think it does have a few parts that I kept thinking was unrealistic even for a paranormal book; mourning for instance. Must read to understand. I will say that sometimes there are books with characters that drag it all out and I get annoyed. I really did come to adore Hannah though, and even more so the brothers.
This author definitely has a good grasp on keeping the readers attention. I knew the end was coming but I was so mad it was coming. There was a ton of angst and suspense throughout the book. For once, I have found an other that knows how to leave you hanging without you wanting to stab her! I hate cliffy's something fierce, but this book doesn't end with that kind of cliff. The author pretty much lets you know there is more to come but ends the book where we know a chapter has certainly been closed and yet it will continue out the way it is meant to be. So Bravo! Even though for me it was a rocky start I am beyond sold and definitely looking forward to the next books in this series!
This is book one in the Angels and Demons series and it is unlike any book I have ever read. Hannah had no idea that her entire life was about to change. She was in her senior year of high school, had loving parents and her best friend Chris Roberts. She was ready to enjoy her year. That all changed after she met Josh and Raum Corderio. Josh comes across as the gorgeous and nice one of the two. Raum rubs Hannah the wrong way from her first meeting. But she can’t help but be drawn to them both and they seem to be everywhere she is. This book has Angels, Demons, Daimons, and Devedas and a pretty intense story to go along with it. I really enjoyed this book. To watch Hannah discover her talents, train and learn how to use her skills was amazing. You could tell by the others reaction that there is more to Hannah then just being a Deveda, but still unsure what that is. When the archangel Michael spoke to her, it affirmed that there is much more to learn about Hannah. “Hannah, you’re the chosen one. It’s you that will lead this war and it’ll be you that ends it.” The characters are great and it was entertaining to watch the bond that formed between Hannah and the Daimon brothers. Raum is the Alpha Male tough guy that you have to love. Hannah learns so much throughout this book and then at the end we are left with one dozy of a cliffhanger. I was so happy to know that I could delve right into book 2 with no delay, because I had to know what was going to happen next.
I don't do religious books, and am always a bit leery of reading them. I read this blurb and it was ok, but had me hesitant. Boy, am I glad I read it!! It sucked me in from page 1 and didn't let me go to the last sentence. Even then I went searching to see when the next book was coming out. I need more!
This is a story of Hannah who thought she was a regular average teenage girl. Little did she know how wrong she was. She was on top of the world, two loving parents, an amazing best friend, a decent job and a future that looked bright. Then the nightmares started, and Raum and Josh entered her life. A life that was no longer so average or normal.
Raum and Josh intrigued me from the first mention of them. What was their story, are they going to be protecting Hannah or are they leading her to danger. They are a mix of sexy, tough, and sweet man.
This is going to be one heck of a series an I can't wait to find out what happens next. What is Hannah's role going to cost her, will Josh and Raum and Hannah survive. Will love win and if it does at what price.
Great first book in what promises to be a great series. Definitley recomend picking this one up. You won't be disappointed in the least!
Reviewer for Paranormal Romance and Authors that Rock Rating 5 fangs
Devada is book one of the Angels & Demons series. Book two Divulgence is available now.
Hannah is our heroine in this series. She is a 17-year-old girl that is thrust into the world of the paranormal when she meets our heros Raum and Josh.
Hannah is a new type of paranormal that I haven’t read about before. She is a devada. She was created to kill demons. Josh and Raum are daimons. They were created as the first immortals to fight demons.
Hannah suffers the loss of her parents and her long time friend Chris to demons. She must either fall into defeat or fight to learn her new powers from the boys and take down the demon world.
Hannah is a great character. Even though she is young the story will suit older readers and anyone interested in the paranormal genre. Hannah is witty and fun. Josh is cute and generous. Raum is a real good guy dressed as a bad boy. The three have a very interesting dynamic in a love triangle way. Hannah has feelings for both boys, so whom will she choose.
This book is action packed, easy to read and an original take on the paranormal. A must read for anyone looking for something new.
What can I say about this book? Well, for starters, I am always a sucker for a paranormal. What can I say? I love me a good angel and demons story. I started this book not really sure what to expect. I couldn't put it down once I started.
Hannah is an only child with a great family and friends surrounding her. The story starts at her senior year in high school. She is a normal girl with homework and a part time job.
Then, two new brothers start school. You have a Jekyll and Hyde scenario between the two as one seems super nice and the other a total jerk! I wasn't really sure what to think of them. They become kind of the center of the story, taking to Hannah and wanting to be friends pretty soon in the book so I automatically thought it has something to do with them.
However, that wasn't really the case. See, Hannah doesn't know she is different. Her entire world shifts one night, changing the course of the story line.
This is a very fast paced read. Tich does a very good job of grabbing your attention and holding on to it. This is a heroine story which I don't usually get behind. However, because she doesn't overshadow the whole book,, she is a very likable character. I give this book 4 stars!
You will not want to put this book down before it ends! Tich Brewster has definitely created a "page-turner"! Hannah had a comfortable life as an only child, with wonderful parents, and Chris...he is the best best-friend any girl could ever have. She was into her Senior year of High School and would be graduating. She had a part time job which was just a few hours a week which didn't interfere with her studies or social life. There were two new brothers at school...one seemed nice, the other somewhat a jerk. They seemed to soon want to be friends... Were they genuine or fake? All of her peace and contentment came to a screeching halt one fateful night. This is a fast-paced, "rites of passage" tale. The action and suspense lasts to the very end of the novel. This is a mix if contemporary and fantasy...with a touch of romance. The foundation for the series is set. I have a slight problem with some slight inaccuracies in the scriptural text. However, tis was very well-written and never failed to keep the reader's attention. My review of this book, therefore, offers a Four and a Half stars rating. *I was gifted this book for an honest review, of which I have given.
This is the story of Hannah, who has no idea she happens to be a Devada. One of the only things able to kill specific demons. Like the four kings of hell maybe? Hannah lives a seemingly normal life for a high school girl, her best friend is a boy named Chris. The first sign of trouble are the nightmares she has of losing both of her parents, frightened by them but convinced they are just nightmares Hannah thinks nothing of it. Then things start happening and we meet Josh and Raum, when things get crazy and she loses everything Hannah has to rely on these two to help her learn what she must do to help keep the world safe.
This was a very faced paced, clean novel. I enjoyed the characters, Hannah is very down to earth and I love that she didn't sit there and feel sorry for herself when things went bad. Josh is an absolute sweetheart and the definition of the 'good guy,' whereas Raum is the opposite; smart-mouthed and cocky (which just happens to make him my favourite character). The story kept up at a steady pace and overall was a good read!
So demons in this book are pretty gross (which I totally dig if anyone cares) "I'm going to take my time with you. First I'll torture you slowly and then," he hissed through his teeth, "I'm going to devour your organs." Totally barbaric but I loved it! Josh is a no no nonsense boy he does not mess around ladies, "well seeing how you have a real psycho killer lurking around here you either leave with me or I'll tie you up and take you anyway. You have to the count of three to make up your mind." Sounds like Josh is a protective guy, "you were supposed to train her not try and kill her." Raum I think he's a harda** at times, "I did train her. We went for a run." Raum, he's also and idiot if he has to ask a stupid question, "then what's the deal?" he said grabbing her arm, forcing her to look him in the eye. "You've given me the cold shoulder since I got back. I thought we were finally becoming friends?" And that's what happens when you think Raum ole' boy! There was a cliffhanger but not like really horrible, so I was pleased with that.
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Wow, what to say about “Devada”??? I enjoyed it. I found myself chuckling at a few places in the beginning and kind of wondering, WTH. I wasn’t really sure what was going on. I kept shaking my head at some of the happenings in the book. I felt like some things were just thrown in there with no real purpose. As I kept reading, I did get sucked into the story. By the end, I needed more. I really wanted to know what was going to happen next. Hannah thought she was just a normal teenager, hanging out with her best friend Chris. In walk Josh and Raum, and everything changes over night. I had mixed feelings about both Josh and Raum. It took a while for me to understand what was up with those two. This book was action-packed. I think I enjoyed it more, looking back, because I was able to read “Divulgence” right away. That seemed to help me understand more of what was going on in the story.
An Armageddon is coming. What can save the world from demons? Hannah can and she will because is a Devada. She was created to fight demons. She has help of course from two Daimons, Josh and Raum. It is a fast paced fantasy that will keep your eyes glued to the pages.
First this book read super fast. I couldn't believe that before I knew it I was at 90%. It flowed so nicely that I forgot I was reading and not watching a tv show. I liked all the characters because they were well written and developed. My favorite character is Raum. I love me a snarky and cocky guy. He makes me laugh with his smart comments and winks. I would have problems not wanting to date him if I was in this world. My favorite moment was in the tunnel. It was a special moment when Hannah feels her power. I won't go too far into the description because it will give too much away. I liked that moment. It gave me chills and something to root for. I look forward to reading the rest of the series because I am hooked. I would recommend this series to any angel loving fantasy fans.
Wow what a great story!! I do have to say I'm happy that it ended on a small cliffhanger that wasn't to much of a cliffhanger. Does that make sense?? The characters are all really strong for everything that they have to go through in there journey it was amazing. The author really did a great job, I also like how she explained what was going on not only for the character to understand better but for us as readers as well. It's well worth 4 1/2 stars if you ask me, that reason being, It just felt like their could have been more to the story just not explaining what was about to happen, it more or less felt more like a teaser then anything about what was to come.
***I received this story for free in exchange for an honest review, see more of my review @ http://jmhoward2007.blogspot.com ***
I received a free ARC copy from the author in exchange for an honest review. Oh wow! This was nothing like I was expecting. This book grabs you from the first chapter. We meet this young adult who is having so serious nightmares. She is trying to be a normal 16 year old when her life falls apart. First she meets two brothers who protect her and become her friends. Then she loses the closest people to her. She learns what she really is and has to get a crash course on protecting herself. She is fighting for humanity with her two protectors will they get her training finished in time? Will she date on of the guys? Will she accept her responsibility in this war? I can’t wait to read part two to see what happens next.
This is my second Tich Brewster book...and wow...I loved the storyline. It kept me on the edge of my seat reading the entire book in 2 evenings. I couldn't wait to see what was going to happen next. Tich has this way of writing that makes you feel as if you are in the story with all the characters. I could feel the pain and excitement during her writing..I can't wait until book 2 comes out. I want more Hannah and Raum romance...the love is just budding, so I want to follow it and see where it goes next. I want to see the 2 of them fighting side by side and kicking ass and taking names...Thank you Tich for a great book!
Hannah was your average high school or so she thought until two new hotties came to town, Josh and Raum. That's when she found out that she was a Devada, or a Demon Hunter/Devil Destroyer created specifically for this task by God. Josh and Raum are Daimon Hunters sent to train her for the battle between good and evil that is about to take place. This changes everything for her when she realizes that all she learned in church is true, plus there's so much more to the story than we are told.
I really enjoyed this book and the characters and didn't want to stop reading it! I loved it so much that I've already bought book two of the series!
Hannah is a normal girl, hanging with her best friend, going to the movies until one day things change. Enter the brothers Raum and Josh. They are soldier for heaven and are here to train Hannah. Hannah is a Devada, one of the few who can kill anything! This story was fast paced, and wonderfully put together. The plot was fantastic! All of the characters were well written, their depth was amazing. My only gripe is I want more and I want it now!
Well what can I say? This book is fantastic! It is well written! This book is a page turner. I don't have a favorite character because this Author made me absolutely love them all. I am left wanting more. I wish the book would have continued. I really like the writing style that was used for this book.
Two brothers one girl what can possibly go wrong? Oh ok 4 kings from hell, one on his way to kill our main protagonist. Devada has no clue how to use her powers, possibly cause she has not had them long enough. So who will train her? Why the boys naturally.... A nice easy read I am sure will become a fast hit. WaAr
Young at heart is what I felt when I read this book. If you like young love, mystery, thrilling and fast pace, and Angels, this book is for you. For Hannah, Chris, Josh and Raum they all pull at your feelings, some good and some bad. The story leaves you with the answers, but has you wanting more. I give this book a 3.75 star rating.
Fun story with Angels, demons and even a little love
I enjoyed this story about a Devada coming into her powers. The author has a wonderful imagination and I'm excited to read the next story in the series. I did feel the book moved to fast and could be even better if more detail were added. I can't wait to find out if the characters get their HEA.
A good beginning to an intriguing series. Hannah's story has tons of potential. I really like each of the characters and the story's premise. Eager to see where Tich takes her Devada.
Love love this book! The storyline and characters was presented nicely. It was a fast pace, page turner book I really enjoyed reading, it left on a cliffhanger which is really good makes me want to read the next one to find out what will happen next! Highly recommend! Happy Reading! 😁
I really enjoyed the flow of this book and the characters. Not normally an angels/demon fan this book may have changed my mind and had me wanting more.
Hannah has no idea what a Devada is nor that she is one. Enter Josh and Raum, who are to train her in learning how to use her abilities. As the two boys help her, she begins to have feelings for them putting all three in a love triangle. I feel the author wrote this book in a way that keeps you guessing which one she will choose or if she will even choose either one. The relationship between them was done in a witty, smart ass story-line that fit well with the characters. This book does have a cliff hanger.
I was gifted this book in exchange for an honest review.
