This collection of short stories takes place before The Tears of Elios and answers some of the questions readers have posed.
What really happened that night Nyelle was transformed? Why were shapeshifters hunted to near extinction? How did Kira meet Master Tyrrus? And what happened to Kira and Galen when the book ended?
It contains a deleted scene, two brand new stories, and an epilogue to The Tears of Elios.
Crista McHugh is a NEW YORK TIMES and USA TODAY BESTSELLING author of fantasy and romance with heroines who are smart, sexy, and anything but ordinary.
She also writes fantasy with less kissing and a lot more action as C. A. McHugh.
She currently lives in the Tesla-filled suburbs of Seattle with her husband and two children, maintaining her alter ego of mild-mannered physician on the weekends.
This book is a collection of short stories related to the main novel Tears of Elios. They contain answers to some questions left unanswered by the first book.
The first three short stories can be read as a prequel - some things might be clearer and you would know on what to pay attention, but some of them contain some spoilers that come out later in the first book - so if you want to be surprised, it's the best to read these stories after Tears of Elios.
The last extra story though is definitely a sequel and should not be read before Tears of Elios because it's the epilogue for two of four main characters in the book.
I liked the stories in it and they did answer some questions for which I am glad, otherwise the main novel would be incomplete and with more plot holes. If you want to read Tears of Elios make sure you don't skip this, but my advice is to read it after the main book. ____________________________________________
Good teasers, interesting premise of mixed races and the battle for power betwixt them. The female characters introduced here are fierce and independent...one can only hope that they remain so.
Great plot, description of characters, adventurous, has some sense of humor, enjoyed thoroughly, looking forward to reading next book in the series, would recommend for any age.
These little stories were certainly interesting and definitely made Me want to read the rest of the series. I love her take on how shifters were created. Only downside is it includes an epilogue, so now I known how the series ends, which cuts off some of the drama. Otherwise pretty nice.
I had never heard of the Tears of Eliot, but I'm about to find out. These short stories of C. A. McHugh were like the smell of a banquet, tantalizing and a portent of great things to come. I don't know what kind of stories you like, but as for me, I'm headed to the Amazon bookstore to find the first novel of this series - or reserve a copy if it has yet to be printed.
Interesting collection of three fantasy short stories, plus the epilogue to one of the author's books and the usual introductory chapters. As befitting stories set in an author's established universe, the characters are fully developed and the world well built. My favorite is "The Royal Kitten." Let's call it four stars.
This was a quick read, which helps to fill in a few blanks. Gives us a little more insight into Kira and Nyelle in particular. I suggest reading this before Tears of Elois, bit it can be read after, as I did.
Nice collection of short stories relating to the Tears of Elios. Gives you the back stories of the two main female characters and also an epilogue to the Tears of Elios (thank you Crista!). Good quick read!
A collection of short stories related to the novel "Tears of Elios" which I haven't read. Want to read it but I'm unable to find it and I'd probably have to pay for the ebook.
