This miniature How-To provides some good fundamental advice and pointers on the basics of designing a cover letter, though I'm a tad wary of the author's enthusiasm for going against traditional formatting. Still, a useful, quick read.
I knew Jeremy through a career workshop session at my uni, and his knowledge led me to read his book. This cover letter explanation bloomed my mind; they are totally different from what I thought about cover letters and what I heard through TikTok videos. I dread writing cover letters (truly, they are arcane and should be discontinued but alas) but Jeremy’s book improved my cover letter writing game for the first time in 15 years. It’s short, practical and helpful. Highly recommend it to anyone.
Jeremy has done a great job in bringing out the important stuff that will separate you from the competing job seekers. With such a competitive job market, one would need every inch of advantage he could find. Must read for job seekers.
