Read this a very long time ago and reviewed it on Pure Textuality. Just didn't put it on GR evidently. This was the second in a series and I just never went on with the series after this one. I know I liked the first one better and actually still remember that one pretty well even though it was six or seven years ago. I did like the premise of the series.

While I was finishing "ARIS RETURN: A VAMPIRE LOVE STORY", the first installment of this series, I expected to be surprised by the events  in this sequel.  A lot of questions had still been unanswered and the outcome had intrigued me.
Devin Morgan has kept its promises... Well written, this sequel was a page turner.

She took over the intriguing elements of the first volume as past lives and time travel without making it boring. Again, I was exciting to follow this regression through centuries.
Thus, it is Sarah's turn to delve into the era of Anne Boley and discover the life she led as her name was Elizabeth.

Of course, Aris awaits a sign from the psychologist to prove her that they are soulmates and are made to love each others for eternity.
But not everything goes as planned.
A new gypsy lover, war, jealousy, desire and revenge will disrupt the frail balance in Sarah's world.

More focused on Sarah and the vampires congregation, this volume is less intense in the action but more in the emotion of the characters and the relationships with each others.
I regretted Carlos' impetuousity and his determination to improve himself but new characters were introduced and charm operated.
I also liked the idea of a past that weighs on our actual lives, how we love and interact with others.

Although, I realized ery quickly who was DeMarco, yet I was surprised by the new final twist.
A very successful sequel. I will continue to read the adventures of Aris and Sarah with pleasure.

I really enjoyed the story and I would like to know what happens next so I will be looking for the third book in the series when it comes out. Like the first book in the series the parts of the book that narrate the stories from the past life regression (this time Sarah's instead of Carlos') are very well written and with feeling and passion. The romance scenes which ocurr in Sarah's dreams are also very well written with feeling and passion. Which makes sense since I have read that the author is known for her romance novels.(I'm not a fan of straight romance novels. I need a mystery or some other aspect to like the story.) Most of the other parts of the book are flat and lacking in something, I'm not sure what. I liked the story so that carries me through the not so well written parts. I don't think this is supposed to be a cozy mystery series but some parts of it are almost written that way. The phrase the friends was used too many times in reference to several of the characters when they were doing something together. That just seemed to out of place to me in this type of novel. I was happy that my copy included 2 chapters of the third book in the series so I was not left completely hanging. I don't like when books leave you hanging unless I am reading the whole series after it has all been written. If I have to wait a few months or even weeks to read the next book then the excitement of the ending has already dissipated defeating the purpose of it.

This second book picks up right where the first leaves off. Sarah is getting to know Aris/Carlos better and finds that she enjoys spending time with him. He says he will give her all the time she needs... Then comes along DeMarco, who she is instantly attracted to. They go on several dates, making it very confusing for Sarah. She likes both men. During this time, someone gets into Sarah's apartment and office and leaves behind a rose and limb. That sets off alarms for Aris, and he has his friends keep an eye on her while he goes to London to try to get the Council to let him back in and convince them that they need to prepare for war. Right at the end of the book, Sarah is kidnapped and wakes up in a cold castle in Spain. She finally finds out who DeMarco really is and he wants to kill her! More of a romance than anything. The most action was the last scene with Sarah and her kidnappers. Wondering where the story will lead to next and if Sarah and Aris will finally get together.

I was provided a complimentary copy in exchange for my honest opinions.

In the second installment of this series, some questions are answered but we are still waiting for the outcome of Sarah's decision concerning Aris and their future. We get to see a part of her former life as Aris true love through hypnosis therapy which gives light to her feelings then and evoked feelings now. Surprises are unearthed such as a war, Aris future with the Catacombs and another man in Sarah's life. In the end you are still left reeling with the biggest surprise of all and I can't wait to see what happens in the third book. With that said I did feel it went a little slow. It didn't progress quickly and I constantly felt like Sarah and Aris should have moved further in their relationship than they have. Whether it be friends or couple it has stayed pretty much the same.

The secoud book is just as good as the first. We get to see into Sarah's past as Elizabeth and new people and problems come into her and Aris' s lives. We are walked through love and indecision and to the brink of war. I highly recommend this series.

Enjoyed the book but I hate how it cut off at the end. I realize there is a part 3 but I felt it should have ended different.
