Coming Through Depression: A Mindful Approach to Recovery

Rate this book

While intended primarily as a guide to recovery for anyone who is

experiencing depression, this book is also written with the

relatives and friends of that person in mind, hoping they can make

sense of what can be a difficult experience to grasp from the

‘outside’. Understanding the journey through depression by

all who are affected can act as a bridge between people who

feel isolated by depression and those who care about them.

Insightful case studies wrought in part from Tony Bates' many years experience as a psychologist. A helpful guide to the history and various schools of thought surrounding the illness.

Finished in a day. At the start of the book I got sad . Sad. Sad. As one does. By the end I felt liberated and light. The writing is amazing I enjoyed it soo much.

As a 'primer'on depression, its causes and cures it was very insightful. The slow, practical and case study style is very comforting to anyone who is in the middle of a depression and it is non-invasive and non-demanding.

Would recommend this book to all!
