I received this book from Netgalley for my honest review.
Hmmmmmm.... I don't know how to say this without seeming I don't know, jaded by what I have read.
But I downloaded this believing it would be a collection of erotic stories as it was in the erotic section.
What I found were three stories...
1. The first one Two for the Road by Cat Johnson was risky but to me it was a regular ménage story that cut off before we got to the good stuff. I felt like I had been teased. I was a bit rushed with the emotions and that sort of thing, but I can forgive that because it is a short story.
What I can't forgive is feeling like I got half the story. I actually kept going thinking, that can't be it. But it was. So even though it started off good, I felt let down.
2.Soul of a Cowboy by Vonna Harper
This one seemed like a regular ole romance story to me. Not very erotic. The sex was pretty meh. I
The relationship building was better in this one, but then it was also rushed and I felt I didn't feel the flow or what happened at the end. The fight.... I don't know it all felt very stilted.
3. Trouble in Boots by Lynn LaFleur
This one was the best out of the bunch. I loved it. It was steamy. I felt the feelings between these two, the emotions were there and they were built up really well for being such a short story.
The sex was hot, hot, hot! I would have liked to read more of there story actually.
I guess I am trying to figure out what made this book erotic...
The definition of eroticism
Eroticism (from the Greek ἔρως, eros—"desire") is generally understood to refer to a state of sexual arousal or anticipation of such – an insistent sexual impulse, desire,[1] or pattern of thoughts, as well as a philosophical contemplation concerning the aesthetics of sexual desire, sensuality and romantic love.
I guess all books were based on this definition... I just felt that maybe other books I have read that have just been classified romance felt more....erotic.
These stories just fell flat to what I was expecting. Maybe if I was just expecting romance I would have been more satisfied. Sorry to be so picky, but as a whole this collection of stories just wasn't quite "it" for me.
