Amazing story of the healing power of Jesus.Faith moves mountains and faith in THE SON healed his son. The story is long winded and delved into too much back story of the illness. I was hoping to learn more of the boy's meeting with Christ and the glory of heaven.

This is an inspiring and beautiful book. It's such encouraging to know God is always faithful to watch over his word to perform it. And he is merciful, loving and always willing to demonstration His power. With God all things are possible.
This family Neal and Carole Pylant take on this persevere journey for their son life. Their son Christopher at the age of three years old was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Furthermore a devastating blow was that doctors couldn't operate on the child brain to remove the cancer. So Neal and Carole Pylant had to fight a good faith with endures to believe God will save Christopher life and heal him. In the midst of all the pain and heartbreak God was faithful and give them the breakthrough for healing to Christopher.
I had to cry reading though this incredible powerful book. This book is a great book of God’s will, his goodness and grace and his compassion to heal. Additional this story is a marvelous testimony to share with the world.
God is able to do exceedly abundantly above all that we ask or think. My review is on the free eBook that was given to me by the publisher.

I so loved this book , I started reading it just to fill a few minutes and didn't put it down until I had finished the whole book. This family opens their lives without hesitations, the ups, the downs, the fears, the emotions, the trials and the pain and Joy. This is one of the most encouraging books I have read in a long time. It shows that there is no trial or situation that we cannot walk through in victory. That standing strong for what you believe has the power to take you through to the victory. I loved it and the honesty this family has shared with us. Destiny image, thank you for a great book.

Uplifting!

What an uplifting story! I could feel the presence of God throughout the reading of this book. He does perform miracles, and this story of healing covers one such miracle that multiplies with the effect it has had on others, including the parents, the doctors and other staff, and on the religious communities that offered prayers for healing. Then, there are the many people who read this book or who hear from someone who has. What a testimonial! May God's will be done.

A Touch From Heaven

This is the story of a three year old boy with cancer on his brain stem. It was inoperable. After many surgeries, and with the strong faith in God, of his parents, he was able to be operated on and became fully cured. The cancer had separated from the brain stem. The lesson of the book being believe strongly in God and all things can be conquered. I'm

As far as I know, I personally haven't come across anyone who's had the kind of revelations Christopher had as a child. It inspires me to think we can always know God more deeply.

I struggled at the beginning of this book. It's difficult to get my head around why these two witnessed the healing of their child when other parents don't, but I found their story fascinating.

What an awesome God we serve. Even through hardships God is in control and will use everything we go through for His glory. People are touched and changed through what they all went through. Salvation to many and even those who walked away from God make a new commitment to follow His will. Recommend this book to all those who need to recommit their lives to the One who has the world in His hands.

Inspiring

These people sure got to walk a hard path. God knows what He is doing and why. Our part is to trust and obey Him; to entrust it all to Him. He then does wonders, in His own way and time. This book is a great testimony to all of that.

Healing with a long term purpose

An honest account of a struggle for their son's healing in what was an outwardly impossible situation. The author keeps the reader going well. The appendices are intriguing. But what is the now adult son doing with his ministry training?

"If all things are possible with God, then all things are possible to him who believes in Him." Corrie Ten Boom

One of the things I like about true stories is that often they are stranger than fiction. This story is no different. It may even be considered bizarre by some who disclaim anything supernatural. A little guy the age of a pre-schooler, who the medical experts on his team claimed could not live, survived a stage 4 brain tumor. His parents were told that medical science couldn't do anything for him. So why is he alive today?

By the time Christopher Pylant arrived at John Hopkins Hospital his medical tests revealed a defused brain stem tumor which was placing pressure on his brain stem and the cerebellum. They believed it had nearly consumed the stem and after surgery to relieve some of the pressure, it was considered inoperable and terminal. But that wasn't the end of the story; it was the middle. To get the full picture and learn how and why Christopher lives today, you have to read all the story from the beginning. All I can say is that the entire sequence of events from start to the present is hard to believe even for those of us with a living relationship with God, not just a religion with a system of rituals.

If there had not been a viable medical history and record, this story could be shoved aside as fanatical belief, wishful thinking, extremism, or pure fantasy. But one of the pediatric neurosurgeons on Chris's medical team was Dr. Benjamin S. Carson, Sr. MD, who wrote the forward to this book. He was a Christian who prayed before surgery and who has seen many unexplainable things in his medical practice. In fact, he wrote a book himself later--Think Big: Unleashing Your Potential or Excellence in which he shared some of his experience with the Pylants' son. He also shared a conversation he had with another member of the medical team, a neuro-oncologist who up to that point was an atheist until he encountered the Pylants' faith and saw with his own eyes what had happened with the tumor to make it operable. The man said it made him a believer.

It's true. The tumor had begun to die. The doctors saw a remarkable thing happen: Chris woke up from the coma he was in, his body which had started to shut down had begun to revive, he could speak a little bit, and when the doctors could finally remove the massive tumor, they found his brain stem, smashed and twisted, but still whole. Later, when Neal Pylant began documenting the events for this book, he talked with one of the operating neurosurgeons and asked how many others had survived this type of cancer. The answer was a disconcerting "no one".

While I was reading this chronicle of the roller coaster events effectively written by Chris's father, which includes his family history, his first marriage and daughter, how he found Carole, her family background, and the events leading up to the surgeries, it was easy to see this was more than just an unusual medical story. It seems to be a puzzle piece that fits into a much larger picture in which God has allowed us a glimpse to witness His hand in the work of transforming many lives...all through His healing touch of a little boy.

Sometimes it was hard for me to read of all the challenges faced by this small family unit. I had to put the book down and return to it later more than once at the intensity of emotion I experienced with the family. I had already seen the effects of cancer and chemo on a body. I have lost four members of my family to cancer, two grandparents, a brother and my father. My brother and father had both been discovered with cancer when it was already in the fourth stage. They were both told it was inoperable and terminal. I knew some of the pain this family was experiencing.

But in the end, I came away from reading this book encouraged and uplifted. I am sure that was the original intent of the writer by relating this heart-stirring true story. I can enthusiastically recommend this book to you. It may not always be easy to read because the author is honest and open about his reactions, his feelings, his faith, and his despair. It may raise more than a few questions about their decisions, their faith and even about God. The Pylants were normal human beings with as many flaws and faults as you and I have, and they faltered along the way from time to time. But their faith grew as they met one challenge after another. We can relate to others like that. And I know for a fact that asking questions and seeking out answers is a good thing. God is never put off by our inquiries and entreaties.

God’s Provision for the faithful

This story is a true testimony and example of God’s work and provision for those who persevere in trials that appear insurmountable. Christopher’s journey was so long and painful yet he never gave up. His parents were relentless in their pursuit of treatments and support for him . The people God sent to them were amazing and inspiring. Thank you for this opportunity to read again how God provides - he is faithful and I am so grateful for their provision from the Lord.

A Touch from Heaven by Christopher and Neal Pylant is a story of families of different religions and traditions and natural consequences, with signs and wonders at every turn. It is the story of a journey of challenged faith that was filled with surprises.

First, it is a true story that reveals how much God loves people. It reminds us that God is the one who seeks us first. We read of how God knew Neal Pylant even when Neal did not know God. In his own words, Neal said, “I did not have a close relationship with God, nor did I understand how the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob would bring an Isaac into our lives – a son who would truly bless not only us and our families, but future generations.” Yet that is exactly what God did- He gave Neal a son, Christopher.

Second, it is a story that shows the ups and downs of walking with God. Neal shares with us the real challenges of trusting God, when everything within us and around us says that God will not come through for us. Over an extended period of time, Neal and his wife Carole struggled with trusting that their son will be healed by God, when everything around them suggested that he will not be healed. I read this book as my family went through a period of watching my mum go through ill-health whose prognosis was not known for a long while. Reading a Touch of Heaven during this period, gave me encouragement and hope.

Lastly, it is a story that shows us that God works strategically in our lives and for long-term and trans-generational purposes. Connecting the dots from the six Pylant baby boys who died from the late 1930s to the mid 1940s, to Neal, who survived, to Christopher who was practically dead but restored to life by God, to Christopher’s two young sons, we see a God who knows the end from the beginning and who watches His purposes to bring it to pass.

Who should read this book? Anyone who is walking through a difficult time in life and is at their wits end will find much encouragement as they see from the Pylants’ experience that the dark nights of life do not shut God out of our lives. Others will also learn from the Pylants’ story examples of how to be God’s instruments in the lives of those who are walking through difficult times.

I loved the book and will recommend it to friends and clients.

I would first like to thank the publisher, author, and Net Galley for the chance to read this book. I was not required to give a review and this review is my own honest opinion of this book.

I did enjoy the book but I had a very difficult time being drawn into it and having it hold my attention. In all fairness this could have been due to my own personal issues as I have lost a child to cancer and am still sometimes struggling with that loss. I am also a Christian and I do believe in Heaven, Miracles, Angels, Hell, and Demons. I just had a hard time seeing this child's illness as a direct attack on him and his family as a form of spiritual warfare by Satan. I think I tend to look at challenges and struggles that happen to us as the Lords way of helping us draw closer to Him and to also strengthen our faith.

I do think that Christian and non-Christians alike we often try to find something or someone to blame when something awful happens. Whether that is the case here I honestly can't say nor do I want to speculate on that. I can say though that I firmly believe in miracles and God's healing and I am so happy for the Pylant family that the Lord touched and healed Christopher! Thank you again for letting me have the privilege of reading and writing this review.

I am a true believer in God and miracles - but this person's account is still so hard to believe. It sure rings true, but as a Catholic - (the same thing I thought when I read "Heaven is for Real") where is Holy Mary, Jesus' mother when he goes to heaven? No spoiler - from the beginning or reading the back cover - a young child has a terminal illness and wins the battle through a true miracle that stumped the doctors too. Faith is a wonderful thing and if nothing else - maybe reading this will strengthen each reader's faith in a higher power. Amen and praise to God that this person (now in his 20's) can tell his story! And what a wonderful gift to his parents.

I have always been fascinated by near death experiences. While the miracles of this is hard to grasp, it is backed up by the doctor who treated him and had no explanation for his recovery. As a believer in life after death and of God, I was able to process and believe most of this story. But somethings go beyond our understanding which is just what the Bible tells us.
Of course, I find myself asking...why does God heal some and not others. But I agree, that sometimes our purpose in life hasn't been fulfilled just yet and God chooses to spare us so that His will can be done.
