Dhami has published many retellings of popular Disney stories and wrote the Animal Stars and Babes series, the latter about young British girls of Asian origin. She lives in Cambridge, England with her husband and cats.
Sue Bentley was born in Northampton, England. She worked in a library after completing her education and began writing for children once her own began school. Bentley is the author of the Magic Kitten, Magic Puppy, and S Club series and lives in Northamptonshire.

She lives with her family in Bath, England.
Daisy Meadows and her fairies are my childhood. I collected so many in my youth, knowing all the fairies and their importance, and sticking with the two special girls who go to be a part of the magic. Years ago I had to give my beautiful collection away, now still part of my childhood school where little girls are picking their favourite fairies and playing pretend. It's fun to hear stories from my old teachers telling me how over the years so many students have grabbed these books and fallen in love with the tales of two girls, Jack Frost and the fabulous glittering magic that is the fairies. On Christmas last year, my sister surprised me with a boxset of these books, but cause you cannot collect these darlings as easily anymore. I was over the moon! If anyone has a little one who needs a little magic in their life, wants to read and needs a big creation to be hooked on...it is Daisy Meadows!
There are seven Dance fairies and they are: Bethany the Ballet Fairy, Jade the Disco Fairy, Rebecca the Rock 'n' Roll Fairy, Tasha the Tap Dance Fairy, Jessica the Jazz Fairy, Saskia the Salsa Fairy and Imogen the Ice Dance Fairy. Their magic ribbons are needed to help people dance properly. The goblins are drawn to music that matches their ribbon and feel the need to dance. They also temporarily gain ice magic and ability to freeze people. Rachel is staying with Kirsty again and they need to help the fairies!
Hold tight to the ribbons, please. You goblins now may feel a breeze. I'm summoning a hurricane. To take the ribbons away again. But, goblins, you'll be swept up too, For I have work for you to do. Guard each ribbon carefully, By using this new power to freeze.
Rebecca desperately needs to get her dance ribbon back, as even the best Rock n Roll dancers are doing a terrible job without it! To rescue the ribbon, though, Rachel and Kirsty will have to outwit not one, but two goblins!
I read this book to my class during our read aloud time, and though they were hesitant to listen to it, they really started to like it once we got into it. Boys may not be too keen to pick this up, but once they hear about the evil goblins that have stolen all of the dancing fairies magical ribbons, they are hooked! In this story Kirsty and Rachel go to the Rock n' Roll dance with Kirsty's parents in searcg for Rebecca's Rock n' Roll magic ribbon. When Rebecca doesn't have her ribbon, there's a good chance that everyone at the function won't know how to dance, so it's Kirsty and Rachel to the rescue. Though I wasn't a huge fan of the story while reading it (it seemed a little all over the place), it is a good beginning chapter book for those students that have just started reading them. Plus, girls love the series!
I am not a big fan of the various Rainbow Magic fairy series by this author, but our oldest is, and that's probably all that matters. I was really impressed by how quickly she read this book, that is, until I read it myself and finished it in about five minutes. Still, it's a chapter book and she's hooked, so I'm sure she'll be reading more. I'm not sure how many of these books I will read, though! This story, in The Dance Fairies series, is all about rock 'n' roll, with a 1950s theme to the dance party.
Nov 2011 update: our youngest is now immersing herself in this series and is reading them very quickly. Hooray!
Rachel and Kristy went to a rock and roll party in the Middle School. Nobody could dance correctly because there was a ribbon missing. It was Rebecca's special ribbon. It was a rock and roll ribbon. There were two goblins and they found them backstage. One of the goblins got freezing power from Jack Frost. The goblin froze the other goblin by mistake when he was trying to freeze Rachel and Kristy. Then they found Rebecca. They traded a microphone to the goblin that was still not frozen, for the ribbon. Rebecca made the microphone make anyone who sung into it sound like Elvis. The goblin loved to sing and dance when he was holding the ribbon because the ribbons are attracted to their kind of dance.
I read this because Violet is devouring them this summer and I thought I should see what is consuming her thoughts. It was ok, but if you want a good laugh, read the list of all the types of fairies this set of series describes. Some of my favorites... Jade the disco fairy, Poppy the piano fairy, Samantha the Swimming fairy and Katie the Kitten fairy. Genius idea, I suppose...
This was a very great book. This book talks about Kristy and Rachel. They have to help the fairies find the dance ribbions back! But Jack Frost took them away. Kristy and Rachels next ribbion is Rebecca's rock n roll ribbon. Will they find it and return it back to Rebecca and the fairies? Read the book to find out!
Rebecca the Rock 'N Roll Fairy needs to recover her magic ribbon from Jack Frost's goblins. This is a fun book that has dancing, fairies, an Elvis impersonator, and goblins who just want to sing! This is a part of the Dance Fairies Series.
In this book, I liked how Rebecca doesn't have her ribbon, so everyone in the dance show is dancing wrong, even the pop star. And you'll have to read the book to find out how it ends...
The goblin wanted to have a magic singing stick and the rock n roll fairy made one and said she would give it to him if he would give her the ribbon. So they traded and that was the end.
In this book, Rachel and Kirsty help Rebecca the rock 'n' roll fairy find her ribbon. Will Rachel and Kirsty get the ribbon in time or will the rock 'n' roll dancing be horrible forever?

This is one of those fairy books that little girls love to read and that they occasionally give me to read. In this one, the Rock N Roll Fairy has had her ribbon taken by some goblins and the girls have to find it.
