I couldn't put this book down. I enjoyed this 1 more than I did the other 2. Keisha Ervin has never been a disappointment and she didn't disappoint this time either. Top shelf read.

#3's revisits Dylan as the Runaway Bride that rushes to the airport to profess her undying love to Angel, reminiscent of(How Stella Got Her Groove Back). Life carries on as they reunite and elope and begin life as a loving married couple complete with their baby girl. Of course, Dylan always has something extra going on and it spills over and pulls Angel in as he fignts his wife's battles and demons as well. Billie is adjusting well even though she's constantly dealing with a spiteful ex and also for her marriage to Knox. Once a deeply buried secret resurfaces...Billie must fight or fail, there's no middle ground with this situation. Families, friends and alliances are severed but are they reparable or damaged for life?

#3 was a drawn out tale that should have been presented in a different format. Instead of a sequel, I feel that the author would have had better execution if it had been penned as a continuation. Building from the foundation is more effective and received by your seasoned readers. Being that this was more Billie's story than Dylan's anyway. The best part for me was the ending, although it felt as if it was plucked out of the air. But the description and telltale signs of Dylan's condition was very informative and may help someone. Dylan's insensitivity to Angel was the most consistent item in her storyline. WIth more development and depth, this had the components to be a great read, but once again, the ball was dropped. I felt as if the author struggled immensely with this storyline as I notated that there was a lack of verbal conversations and a oversaturation of narration. Too many copycat scenes that could have been orchestrated totally different to establish the author's signature stamp. Repetitive and forced scenes along with the inconsistency of everyone's dialect. One scene with the twins had everybody talking ebonics...wtw!! Dylan even lacked all of her quirkiness, which was a factor that I enjoyed in the previous novels. Keisha Ervin has been in the game for far too long to continue to have misspelled words and editing issues. I would suggest more concentration and effort in future endeavors. AND IMPO, it was overpriced. 2.88

I liked the story but the major problems for me that took away from the book was the grammar and certain unbelievable things in the book. There were so many times (too many to count) where I mentally corrected her grammar or corrected sentences that barely made any sense because she forgot to add a word or something. The other problem I had was with the character state. So this is the third book in the material girl series (or trilogy) and I (the audience) am just learning about State being British? To me that should have been mentioned in the first book when State was just introduced. Also it was hard for me to picture State being British when everything he was saying was either American slang or just St. Louis slang. He never said anything like "Brillant" or "the loo" or "Fancy" or anything to hint at the fact that he was from London.
Another problem that I had (I forgot about this) was the fact that the author shortened things that should be described as St. Louis slang. For example, the author used the term "ice grilled" which is slang for a cold stare. There were lots of times where I wanted to have more detail.
However despite all the problems, I still thought it was a pretty good book. I like how the author had all of the drama unfold, and how the problems got solved as well. Nothing was too quick or too long it was just the right pace. Also I like the way the author is able to give her characters a lot of life and make them practically much jump off the page.

Material Girl 3: Secrets & Betrayals

I am a huge fan of Keisha ervin, and i have been waiting for the last installment of material girls for a long time, but was extremely disappointed with the turn out of the book. I felt for a final installment it was extremely short, and i did not feel the same anticipation while reading the book like i did with the first 2 installments. I did not like the fact that dylan got sick (the author really went into full details on the symptoms dylan was feeling, which was boring), i felt that she could have acquired finding that type of happiness another way. the fact that billies story was the climax of the book disturbed me because she is not the main character and that left her story kind of untold! I just felt that it was rushed and not fully thought through. The ending to me was not a happy ending, and tee tee did not throw one temper tantrum, Overall there was no real climax everything was just too subtle, and that is why i gave it 1 gold star! I would have given it a half!

There was a lot of growth from the characters in this book. I thought Dylan was going to be back and forth between State and Angel like before but it seems as she really came to terms with the fact that State was not right for her. I’m glad she finally realized that. I also thought Angel was going back to the girl he was engaged to in book 2 but he proved me wrong. I was thinking the secrets and betrayal was going to be between Angel and Dylan. This book was mostly about Billie and her past mistakes. I figured it was some reason why Billie really hated State the way she did in books 1 and 2. The bombshell she dropped was unexpected. I was glad State stopped being a womanizer and became a man.

Overall this was a great book. It was funny and hard to put down. I like the small message the book covered about being shallow. I didn’t like the judge’s custody ruling, it was unrealistic. I was happy to see a better side of State and all though it’s against girl code, I was glad that Billie found happiness with her old fling.

I love Keisha's writing style. I was almost sad that this journey had to end. But I loved the way it ended. Keep up the good work.

Wish Dylan and Angel could have had a baby girl, but it was still a great story. But it's ok to have just one child sometimes. I did.

I can honestly say that I enjoyed reading this book. It was different from a good read that showed real-life struggles and people with good jobs.

When I received this book in the mail I was shocked at the size I thought I was reading a manuscript it was so huge lol. But putting it down was hard cause I immediately feel in love. The twins OMG they are more than a mess I can't with them. State and Billie beyond shocked but as the sideline continue I found myself rooting for them. I am disappointed with Knox though he have in to easy even they weren't meant to be he didn't go hard for his wife. I'm happy Dylan found her courage and strength she really grew allot though this book. my one disappointment is Tee tee I was expecting more of him and his foolishness but I guess the twins took his place lmao

Material Girl 3

This book was funny as hell with those 2 twins. They really had me cracking the hell up. I'm glad that everything came out in the open in the book and brought this family back together. Dylan showed that she had truly grown up and was trying to become a better person. Life is really too short to keep harbors get old wounds and not being able to tell the person how you really feel when in fact you've done things in your life where you've too hurt others.

This book was not the same quality as the first two books. While I did enjoy the story lines, it seems very disjointed and all of the stories seemed to end abruptly. I really missed seeing more of Tee-Tee in this book because his dialogue is witty and he's spot on with the verbal jabs.

I did enjoy the concept of the story lines though. The book just seemed rushed.
