John Simmonds has lost everything, his wife, his son and the will to live. His only purpose in life now is to create the ultimate Panacea, the cure for aging, a way to hold back death.
When he is successful all eyes turn to John but there are others who do not wish for him to succeed and when his work is sabotaged to release the full lethal effects of ‘The Nosferatu Effect’, only he and his newfound love stand in the way of Armageddon.
This novel is a return to the old fashioned horror genre, a sure favourite for fans of the traditional horror authors such as James Herbert, Shaun Hutson, Christopher Pike and many others.

A graduate in Applied Chemistry from Northumbria University, Andy Strutt has a long history of experience within the scientific and engineering sectors. Ill health forced him into early retirement a little before turning forty but by his own words this has freed him up to partake in his favorite hobby, writing. He favors Science Fiction, Horror and Fantasy and this is reflected in his work.
In his spare time, he is happily married with a son and a daughter who both are following in his footsteps on the way to becoming scientists themselves. When not looking after the children he and his wife are avid animal lovers currently owning four dogs and four cats (one of whom is actually approaching his nineteenth birthday).
Andy prides himself on being a reasonable cook and enjoys preparing meals from all corners of the world, his favorite being rather spicy Indian food. To this end, he grows a large selection of chilies ranging from the mild Jalapeno to the fiery Scotch Bonnet. His goal is to grow the infamous Ghost Chili, although he admits he has had limited success so far.
Always and avid reader, Andy can often be found with his nose in a book and reads most genres. Quite recently, he has taken to reviewing other authors and their work, and enjoys posting the results on the internet for other keen readers to enjoy.
Following the recent release of his debut novel “The Afflicted”, Andy is currently working on a modern Gothic horror novel that he intends to complete during 2014. Besides this he has several ongoing projects such his long term undertaking “The World of Magic” that he intends to release as a Fantasy Trilogy.
