There is a lot of story here. Catrin Collier provides us with a huge cast and we do get to know each one really well. Each character brings their won story and the tensions interweave nicely. It too me a while however, to sort out who was who. This seems to be a common trait in the genre. nevertheless, her inclusion of so many people means that we get many glimpses of civilian life during World War II.
I could never have expected the way everyone's life in Pontypridd has turned out. It was nice to have Jane and Haydn back.
The last few chapters are absolutely riveting. Can't wait for the next one! I have fallen so in love with all the characters and this town. I am just praying that some of them get a happy ending.
I am thoroughly enjoying this whole series. I have commented on all the previous books, and don't really have much more to say, except that I will be sad when I have finished reading all the books in the series.
