Maybe it's me

I'm not normally a prude, the more disturbing a book the better as far as I'm concerned. Even though I know if fiction in contemporary fiction I expect some plausibility to unbelievable and there was none, nothing made sense. There are people out there use truly enjoy pain and humiliation (The first book sorta reminded me of The Story of O) but this book made it feel like the only people who do are lesser or need to be paid off, maybe I'm reading too much into this short story, trying to make it into something it not. But I was not able to get into this, which is a shame because I kinda enjoyed the two main characters.

Oh, and one thing that really bothered me: Geishas are from Japan not China, it was clear a editor was not used for this novella.
